I'd prefer Anderson to play further up field than Carrick.
His acceleration is frightening, but he hasn't been able to use it much. The impression I get from our Porto friends is that he's used to playing there as well.
We could do with another striker, but IMO they need to be pacy & an aerial threat. On the offical United forum people are hoping Rossi comes back, but he's too much like Rooney & Tevez. What I saw of Manucho looked impressive, but until he actually plays in the team/reserves we wont know.
SAF said last week that he's looking to get someone to replace Giggs. That, to me, says he's not sure about Nani. Unless he's planning to use Nani on the right and push Ronaldo up front like in the CL games, with one of Rooney or Tevez.
If we did that, and (were able to) sign Lahm, Evra would be more than capable of playing LW.
I feel a bit sorry for Pique. The problem is that our squad is strong (if you can call that a problem!).
O'Shea is more likely to be put on the bench due to his versatility.
Wes is established at playing RB & CB, so would be picked over him any day.
I can see a few players leaving this summer (praying Kuszczak will be one of them!): Jonny Evans, Chris Eagles, Lee Martin & Keiran Lee all probables.
Then we have the twins coming over (who would prob spend a season in the reserves or on loan), Manucho (if he gets a permit), Campbell coming back from Hull, Possebon & Welbeck impressing in the reserves.
If we do sign anyone, I'd like to see us try for Ashley Young (LW), a backup keeper (if Foster doesn't take the No1 shirt), and maybe a striker who wont mind not being 1st choice (Ashton, Santa Cruz?)
Sorry for the long post!
