Tevez showed why we need to buy him.

He worked amazingly well, energy for the whole game, never let go of possession when he had it.

Park was equally adept at doing the same job.

Defence was rock solid at crucial moments, even if Messi made them all look like statues half the time.

Ronaldo didn't do much, but what he did came in handy.

Nani should've been substituted far earlier than he was, if purely to keep our passing percentage up, the idiot lost the ball everytime he had it.

Anderson and Rooney would've relished in a game like that I think, though picking the other midfielders over Anderson was probably right due to experience.
 
there was no ronaldo because united played as a team, ronaldo was up front on his own and the plan went well! zambrotta is such a cheat! cant believe ronaldo got a yellow for getting cut off!!!!
 
You can tell that goal meant a lot to him. Havent seen Scholes so happy after scoring a goal.
 
I said to my missus and brother before the match; "Scholes needs a good game tonight. If he can orchestrate the midfield OR score a goal, we'll have half a chance."

Thought Barca were pretty but toothless. Particularly Messi. I mean, awesome, he can keep the ball and skin players, but if you can't shoot or pass, what's the point? His control is simply terrifying, but Ronaldo created more threat without being at his best. A very professional trip out for him, though where that yellow card came from I have no idea.

Sooooo exccited, can't wait. spent 99 in a room of Germans, this year has to be better!!!
 
EUPHORIA!!! I was pulling out my hair in the final 10 minutes! Visions of that Porto game flashed thru numerously but our fate was sealed long before we know it.Paul Scholes.How ironic that he was the man who pushed us into the final to redeem himself for that suspension in 1999.

Park and Tevez were awesome tonight.Carrick and Scholes held it together in the middle while Rio and Brown puts in 110% in defence.It was a SUPERD team effort.Rio and VDS barking at his defence all the time to keep them on their toes.It was phenomenal.Lets take it to Moscow and bring down whoever we meet then.I am a one of many millions United fans to be lucky enough to witness 1 impeccable final in Spain and 1 more higly anticipated final in Moscow!

Yeah, but look how much has changed in two years.

They've lost the brilliance of Ronaldinho on form.

They've seemingly lost Eto'o, who genuinely looks like he can't be arsed.

Messi is amazing, but hes saddled with an awful bunch of team mates.

Their defence is awful, their midfield is all attack, but when they do attack, they've no option but to pass it into the net, and that never, ever works.
 
I wouldn't go as far as calling the players awfull. They are no doubt fantastic players (most of them) but Rykaard can't do shit with them.
 
WOOOOOOOOO I knew we could do it! It had to be Scholes didn't to score a thunderbolt, it was a wierd game i could "sense" barca's goal coming but we defensively couldn't have given more Tevez! what a performance wow he really played for Rooney today he was EVERYWHERE, Messi proved to me that if fit he is the best player in the world WOW he was just unstoppable on the ball at times it just stuck to him. OVERALL AMAZING 9 YEARS SINCE AND WERE GONNA DO IT AGAIN ! :DD
 
prettyd ecent game, i wanted barca to win but nevermind. barca played exactly how arsenal played last season, passing the ball to the net. they hardly made a cross when they was in a good position and messi worked his ass off whilst the majority of the team especialy the midfield were lazy.

Henry should of started this game. i dont know why he diddnt, he would of posed a huge threat againts united.

Yet again ronaldo prooves to the majority of netural fans that he never shows up in big games againts big teams,. he hardly done anything in that game to merit him winning the PFA awards. TEVEZ was by far the best player for manu. he worked his socks off, chasing every ball within his grasp even if it was a lost cause and i admire him for that
 
Congratulations. Barca really are a shadow of their former selves, they just look so poor, especially going forward. Your defence over the two legs didn't give them a sniff but I really don't understand why they try to pass the ball into the net.

Ronaldo can't be expected to dance around 4 defenders and the holding midfielders every time he has the ball, especially when he isn't playing on the wing with 2 strikers in front of him... He was quite unselfish and held the ball up well last night. He also created several good chances for others (Park & Nani for a start).

Nani was a bit disappointing, always trying the flash flick on or take an extra touch instead of releasing it to a team mate. But he's young and Ronaldo was the same at first, so he'll be better next season.

Brown & Ferdinand were absolute rocks in defence (Nemanja who? ;))), and 'Jason' Park & Tevez never stopped running.

It was a great result considering Vidic & Rooney were out.

The atmosphere in the stadium last night was immense. The place was jumping, especially towards the end when it looked like we'd be going through.

I didn't think we played that well though to be fair. Barca looked dangerous when they attacked as we just sat off them and didn't push up and they could easily have scored at any time and we would've been fucked. Nobody could get near Messi, it was just lucky that he couldn't find the killer ball, otherwise we'd all be here wondering what could've been!

I thought Nani was awful again, as he has been the last couple of months. I was suprised he started after how he played against Chelsea, but he's young and has got a lot to learn.

Ronaldo wasn't up to much either in my eyes. I didn't have the benefit of action replays etc but it seemed to me Zambrotta had his card marked when he moved out wide and he just couldn't beat him. He hardly won a header all night either which he usually does. I hate to say it but I really do think he gets nervous against the big teams in important matches.

I've gotta say Tevez was immense. He didn't stop running and tackling all night and was getting the crowd going. He wasn't giving the ball away cheaply either like some of the other lads so credit there too.

Great result, just need to start perfoming how we were a few months ago now otherwise we'll get beat by the chavs/scousers and have untold amount of abuse for months to come.

Congrats to all Manchester United fans! Wow, a monster of a performance! , the goal was out of this world and who better to score it , the majestic paul scholes!
I thought you would be up against it after rooney and vidic pulling out but i could not have been more wrong, tevez was brilliant as was park!
The whole team stuck together as barca came forward again and again, beautiful sublime pass and movement which could not get through a UNITED brick wall.
the atmospere inside the theatre was incredible also, acting as that 12th man when united needed it in the last 15 mins, finaly ending in a just reward for an outstanding Manchester United performance.
