Manchester United Thread

The atmosphere in the stadium last night was immense. The place was jumping, especially towards the end when it looked like we'd be going through.

I didn't think we played that well though to be fair. Barca looked dangerous when they attacked as we just sat off them and didn't push up and they could easily have scored at any time and we would've been fucked. Nobody could get near Messi, it was just lucky that he couldn't find the killer ball, otherwise we'd all be here wondering what could've been!

I thought Nani was awful again, as he has been the last couple of months. I was suprised he started after how he played against Chelsea, but he's young and has got a lot to learn.

Ronaldo wasn't up to much either in my eyes. I didn't have the benefit of action replays etc but it seemed to me Zambrotta had his card marked when he moved out wide and he just couldn't beat him. He hardly won a header all night either which he usually does. I hate to say it but I really do think he gets nervous against the big teams in important matches.

I've gotta say Tevez was immense. He didn't stop running and tackling all night and was getting the crowd going. He wasn't giving the ball away cheaply either like some of the other lads so credit there too.

Great result, just need to start perfoming how we were a few months ago now otherwise we'll get beat by the chavs/scousers and have untold amount of abuse for months to come.

1 more thing - how great was it seeing all those scarves being waved around? :redscarf:
Looked really good didnt it! Best atmosphere at OT for a while, that's for sure.

Congrats to all Manchester United fans! Wow, a monster of a performance! , the goal was out of this world and who better to score it , the majestic paul scholes!
I thought you would be up against it after rooney and vidic pulling out but i could not have been more wrong, tevez was brilliant as was park!
The whole team stuck together as barca came forward again and again, beautiful sublime pass and movement which could not get through a UNITED brick wall.
the atmospere inside the theatre was incredible also, acting as that 12th man when united needed it in the last 15 mins, finaly ending in a just reward for an outstanding Manchester United performance.

paul scholes! he scores goals!!! :)

scoring was never an issue with you guys, but your defense should be equally commended and noted... imo, aside from ronaldo, rio is having a defining season as well...

'grats red devils! moscow beckons!!! :applaud:

Yeah, but look how much has changed in two years.

They've lost the brilliance of Ronaldinho on form.

They've seemingly lost Eto'o, who genuinely looks like he can't be arsed.

Messi is amazing, but hes saddled with an awful bunch of team mates.

Their defence is awful, their midfield is all attack, but when they do attack, they've no option but to pass it into the net, and that never, ever works.

thats retarted

prettyd ecent game, i wanted barca to win but nevermind. barca played exactly how arsenal played last season, passing the ball to the net. they hardly made a cross when they was in a good position and messi worked his ass off whilst the majority of the team especialy the midfield were lazy.

Henry should of started this game. i dont know why he diddnt, he would of posed a huge threat againts united.

Yet again ronaldo prooves to the majority of netural fans that he never shows up in big games againts big teams,. he hardly done anything in that game to merit him winning the PFA awards. TEVEZ was by far the best player for manu. he worked his socks off, chasing every ball within his grasp even if it was a lost cause and i admire him for that

thats complete bullshit. Ronaldo did well the entire game. Your hardly a neutral

tbh as a nuetral zambora (?) was cleary trying to hit Ronaldo at every chance he got, rarely going for the ball. Ronaldo is a great player and most of the football world seems to h8 him...H8 the game not the player ( Heard it in a rap song ..now I understand what it means)

Ronaldo did perfect, be a big enough threat so 3 people try to tackle you, when he did get tackled, we have the unmarked SCHOLES to net it in

the formation wasn't really for Ronaldo to push in like he does in most of his games, the suprising thing is that Man Utd doesn't really have a great striker that is consistent and they win most of the games from their attacking midfield.

Looks like our heavy investment in midfield for this season did the trick then! Speaking of that,I do not know why we are interested in the Wigan duo of Wilson Palacios and Antonio Valencia. From what I've seen, they are decent at best but I havent been watching too many Wigan games.

Kinda excited about our 'small' interest in Roque Santa Cruz.Proved so far that he could cut it in the Premiership for 17 goals so far.Big and strong with an eye for goals, thats what we lack currently.

Just another question...if we win against West Ham and Wigan,we would be champions rite? So,will our trophy be presented at the JJB?

Never thought I'd say this, but good luck. Hope you whack Chelsea all over Russia and put on a show for us all.

Chelsea in the final lads! Gonna be some game, on paper I would of rather played Liverpoo (can't remember the last time they scored against us let alone won) but losing against Chelsea won't be as hard to take. If Liver-long-ball FC beat us in the final I'd never leave the house again!

Going to be a tough match. If it was Liverpool against you guys, then the result COULD have been in your favour but now it seems very difficult though. Chelsea just wont give up at Moscow. No Doubt, neither will ManU.

Well done for Tuesday lads and I hope you win in the final... but there's a bigger game than that on Saturday..... :DD

yeah and half the west ham team are injured, ljungberg broke a rib yesterday too, so hes prob out, its going to be wigan if anyone thats gonna nawls up our season

Luckily, they're not really playing for anything. They're already safe and aren't pushing for Europe.

we only lost last year cus we had already won the league and just wanted to get on with trophy lifting, west ham had 2 shots all game anyway

lol no we had him then but west ham were playing for a place in europe unlike now at this late stage in the season I'm confident we'll put it right and secure a win!

Fellas, I bloody love it and hear it every time!!

I am really looking forward to this.
I don't reckon we'll win so I'm not here giving it the big un, just trying to build up a bit of ooomph.

Sadly, but yet again, it seems the general consensus is that Man Utd expect to walk over small time West Ham and get the title with ease.
I'm not saying any of you guys are saying that as you are giving us more respect than the press do.

Obviously I want us to go up to Old Trafford and get a win and be known as the ones that fucked it for you again, BUT it means Chelsea get the title, so it will always be tinted for me!!

For what it's worth,- out of the big 4... you lot are my favourites by a mile
:))

Oh... and we'll probably beat you 6-0 with a John Pantsil double hat-trick, but if he isn't playing, then you will surely win

And So my search starts to find a decent flight to Moscow direct flight is out of the question so trying to find a decent place to go via and hoping it's under £500 at least for flights...

Good luck Hawkster - I'm thinking of getting a cheap flight to Finland and jumping on a train. Fuck me, I don't care WHERE I watch it, WE ARE GOING TO THE FINAL! :salute:

My understanding is that if you have an official match ticket before you fly, that will count as your visa. If you don't, you probably need to apply the old fashioned way.

They will make an announcement on Sunday apparently.

Looks like I have everything booked by my father direct flights, hotel for under £1k for teh two of us!
