Manchester United Thread

we only lost last year cus we had already won the league and just wanted to get on with trophy lifting, west ham had 2 shots all game anyway

What team would you lot like to see against Barca? Here's mine...

-------Van-Der-Sar-------
Brown-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
----------Carrick--------
---Scholes-----Anderson---
--Park--Rooney--Ronaldo--

I think that would be the right side to face Barca IMO its our best side with arguable change's such as Hargo or someone instead of Park but other than that its our best side, should get us goals and be enough to win :)

So, according to the PFA, Ronaldo is the best player but Fabregas is better? How can a player that is nominated for both awards win one and not the other?

I think they had to give the award to Cesc to avoid talk of a whitewash plus fix springs to mind getting the main award proves he's better than Fabergas anyways....

This is a bit worrying:

Manchester United pair Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic are doubtful for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.

Neither player trained on Monday morning after sustaining injuries in the 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday.

Striker Rooney limped off with a hip problem after scoring, while defender Vidic was cut badly after being hit in the face by Didier Drogba's knee.

United are seeking a spot in the Moscow final after a 0-0 draw at the Nou Camp.

Both Rooney and Vidic are key figures for United, and manager Sir Alex Ferguson will still be hopeful that they are available for Tuesday's match.

Following the 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge, Ferguson said England international Rooney was suffering with the same "very painful" hip knock which he suffered a week earlier at Blackburn.

He also confirmed that Serbian centre-back Vidic, who missed the semi-final first leg in Barcelona with a stomach bug, had to have stitches under his lip after losing a tooth in the accidental clash.

Barcelona, meanwhile, will welcome back skipper Carles Puyol who will replace the suspended Rafael Marquez in defence.

Midfielder Yaya Toure (ankle) is a doubt and Edmilson could replace him.

Can't believe that its not been mentioned that the pen on Saturday was the first penalty you have conceded in the league THIS season!

That is some statistic. Good to see none of you are moaning about it because it was a stonewall pen.

It was, though on another day it prob wouldn't have been given.
Mind you, the Chelsea fans didn't really call for it either...

I think no-one mentioned it because we're all too nervous about tomorrow!

Just hope we don't see the usual scenario where we let a shit goal in in the first fifteen minutes and then play well but end up drawing 1-1. We really should have gone for it at the nou camp if we weren't going to go for it against Chelsea. I do feel that we may have fucked up a bit.

Not too confident about tonight - we've been poor of late.

Hope it's a good game though! :)

Im quietly confident, you have to look the fact we've gone into the last 2 games not needing to win and we've sat back, while tonight we HAVE to win which suits our game and with that it will probably be a goalfest if im honest it really will come down to who bottle's it in the end i think.

We seem to be having our November blip at the moment. Not confident either. I can't watch it either as it starts at 4am here and my mother is sleeping in the living room. This is the best chance we've had to win it for ages. I just hope we can recapture the form from a few months ago.

Why not watch it on the internet?

Anyway, hope Rooney and Vidic are playing. If not, I'm a bit worried.

Fingers crossed it'll be one of those great European nights.

Has anyone heard any team news yet? I'm hoping Rooney & Vidic are fit to play
