Manchester United Thread

Don't think it's that easy now. Whatever you say, the defeat will have an effect psychologically, just like it did on Arsenal.

We're United though - Arsenal have that crying muppet Gallas as captain and a team of youngsters who have never played in England before, let alone won the title. We're far more tough mentally in my opinion. We've been there and got the t-shirt plenty of times when it comes to winning the Premiership. We need to call on our older heads for calm and concentration now.

It's gonna be interesting though! :)

Yeh, United have that winning mentality, don't they, that always carries them through,

Oh, and well done to Rooney for finally scoring from a 1-on-1 :D

Thought Nani was pretty poor though. Park would have done a better job today.

I agree, still think you'll win the league. You just have the edge and the togetherness that I don't think Chelsea have.

Write them lot off at your peril though!

not one of your better games mates!! I would take it though!! But Nani was poor... strange lineup but just my point of view!!

Just shows how important Tevez' late goal at Blackburn was last week - we wouldn't be sitting top right now if he hadn't of put that one in.

Just read this over at the BBC debate:

Would you rather be in United's position or Chelsea's right now?

United have West Ham at home and Wigan away. Chelsea have to go to Newcastle and then take Bolton on at home.

On the basis of those games alone, the level-headed neutral would say United must remain title favourites.

Neither West Ham nor Wigan have anything to play for. The Hammers have drifted along in near-neutral all season, while Steve Bruce's side are nobody's idea of a nightmare.

Newcastle, however, are enjoying a late-season flowering under Kevin Keegan. Bolton are fighting for their Premier League future.

Then, of course, there's the matter of goal difference. Only in a cheese-fed Fergie nightmare would United throw away an advantage of 16 goals in two matches.

In other words, the title is United's to lose. Should they take maximum points from two games they'll very much fancy, the 1970 Brazil team couldn't catch them.

Always known that it was ManU's title to throw away!! But does give a chance now the race to the title is all open!!

Forget the next 2 league games guys seriously. They will take care of themeselves, whats important is Tuesday if we lose and lose tamely then i have a sick feeling we will have no trophies this season.

I think we will beat West Ham but Fergie HAS toplay the best 11 for the rest of the season. Forget swapping and changing the best 11 and get the job done.

Newcsatle is gonna be very tricky for Chelsea. Fergie had his eye on Tuesady with his team selection today no excuses now.

Well done Chelsea...

Agree that Tuesday will shape the rest of our season, if we win then im confident we'll go on to win the last two games yet if we lose then the confidence in the side will be very low and I'd probably but Chelsea favorites going into the last two

Guys, if we lose on Tuesday we won't just "throw the title away" because of that - if anything, it will make the squad even more focused on getting the job done.

The way we've played this season, the amount of goals we've scored - it will be very sad to not win any silverware.

Who's knows what's around the next corner though? Chelsea haven't beat Newcastle & Bolton yet (Chelsea drew the exact same fixtures last season remember!)

:)

TBH Mike, you can tell were pushing more for the Champions League as our most the players, so i think Tuesday will be important for them as even if we go on to win the league SOME may even feel its a failed season without the CL

I was kinda gutted.Having to say that we could afford to lose to the Chavs felt weird. Its just not our way.We lost to a better team on the day nonetheless. Our cutting edge was non-apparent today without Ronaldo and a half fit Rooney while Nani and Giggsy bottled it.Totally unlucky to concede that penalty though...shades of the Barca penalty we got but this time, courtesy of the linesman.I always knew Ballack would put it away, kinda hard to see one of you favourite player in football, destroy your team.Onward to Tuesday shall we?

Well it was an awesome game, it wasnt wise for Fergu-son to rest all the main players for such a big game, now the title is very tough. With West Ham, u guys have to pray that u win and only win!!

Bitterly disappointed with the loss. First half, we were very poor, not retaining possession of the ball and Chelsea could have been 2 or 3 goals up by half-time. We improved marginally after half-time and only a bit of luck got us back in the game, with Carvalho's terrible back pass. I haven't seen a clear replay of the penalty incident yet but the cross did seem to be smashed straight at Carrick and only two excellent goal saving clearances gave Chelsea the win, which they deserved in the end anyway. But despite this setback, we are still set quite well for the end of the season.

dunno why scholes, neville and pique were involved tho, they wasnt even in the 16 lol,

Lol, Know that time has passed and im no longer pissed of with the result, im quite happy with the fact we will have fresh legs going into Tuesday with Evra,Scholes,Tevez, and Ronaldo all rested for today we are maybe not in the best of form but go into the game needing the win which should help us play our natural game :)
