United were very professional in defence last night although lets be honest, Barcelona were piss poor. They kept the ball well but what did they do with it? Fuck all.

I reckon Barca will score at Old Trafford because they have to BUT I think we'll score more. Their defence won't know what hit them next Tuesday and although Puyol is back, Marquez is suspended.

Overall I'm happy with 0-0, just a bit dissapointed that we didn't get the important away goal.

Sorry but thats the biggest Myth ever. You just keep telling yourself that. Liverpool dont play boring football. Maybe not as dynamic as United but not boring. 4-3 over Alves, 3-3 with milan, 4-2 with Arsenal, 3-3 West ham are just some of the most memorable matches in the last few seasons. So dont give me boring sunshine.
 
I thought it was a solid defensive display from us.We needed to be smart and we were.That missed Ronaldo penalty would have been a huge bonus for us.I wasnt too impressed with Barca to be honest.They did not made much grounds with their superior possession.We defended really well without our top centrehalf and they did not make VDS work too much without their top players.Having said that,Barca played with the best they have got available while we left out a few starters like Giggs,Anderson,Neville and even Nani on the bench.
 
Ah i see as do not follow a chamions league side therfore i must no nothing about football :)

And as you say Man yoo top europen team beat us how many times this season....? ;)

Just 'cause you've had a few games where you've scored more than a couple of goals means fuck all when you played such a bloody boring match anyway.

Goals aren't everything a game needs to be exciting. Hell there have been better 0-0's than those games you mentioned there.

Liverpool adopt a boring style of football, they're the club equivalent of England, its that simple.

I still stand by what I said earlier.. you should bugger off back to your own thread and stop telling us how much of a PlayStation Generation we are and how we know nothing about football....

I do rate Reina..although like most keepers he's got an achillies heel, in his case he's a bit prone to dropping crosses or making a bad decision.

The best goalkeeper in the Prem is Cech i reckon, good solid and reliable.

Personally im not sure we can score next week, it's possible like but i think Chelsea will sit deep and try and pick Liverpool off on the counter, plus Essien is back which is a boost for them.

We also need Gerrard to step up to the plate in these games. He's been nowhere against United, Chelsea on Tuesday and Arsenal in the last round. We need more from him. I also think Torres - as much as i love him - needs to stop falling over so much although he does get meated out some kicks. But he's only young and i think he'll learn.

What do you think your chances are next week? A big week for United coming up. Personally the barca match is on a knifes edge.

i agree! antred is our version of blue4life, they the two most passionate fans on evo-web about there love of liverpool and everton, plan m is the man utd most passionate fan!

its brilliant reading when these lot are on there game, expect fireworks in the next week on everton,liverpool,chelsea and man utd with everton and villa game and cl matches to come, will be hot..

I'd rather have Reina than Kuszczak! Mind you, (IMO) Cech has flapped a bit recently, especially on corners. That could be because of all the headgear, or maybe just a purple patch.

Torres will come good. He mouths to the ref a lot (which I think didn't do Mascherano any favours at OT the other week). Ronaldo was the same when he came over, now look at him :DD
That said I wish Ronnie wouldn't throw his arms up every time he's fouled. It seems to be going against him at the moment ie the second penalty claim against Barca.

I'm not sure about the second leg at the moment, I think the performance & result tomorrow could influence things. A lot of people say we did well at the Nou Camp, though I disagree. Possession was wasted, if we'd passed a bit more we would have created a lot of chances. Van Der Sar's kicking was poor too.
A lot depends on Vidic as well. If he's back then Hargreaves can go back to midfield where he was superb against Roma.

A win would be nice tomorrow. With Lampard doubtful we have a chance (though I wish he was out for different reasons - I wouldn't wish that on anyone).

yeah i only saw the second half but it was unusual to see United just kick it nowhere upfield a lot. Not that i dont think United can beat Barca but because of the away goals rule and the way Barca keep possesion, United could end up being nervous and losing their cool. last year we scored eearly against Chelsea in the semi to make it one - one, but i was nearly having a heart attack every time chelsea came forward as one goal would make the tie an uphill struggle.

Will be interesting anyway.
