The only difference Masch would have made was enabling Liverpool to play with 11 players on the pitch thereby giving the match an evenly fought contest and whoever emerged victor in such a scenario would have been applauded rather than sneered at!!

You see thats the difference for me. You wanna beat teams in an evenly fought contest to show superiority. Man utd have beaten Arsenal, chelsea and Liverpool all with ten men at Old Trafford.

Anyway im shutting up this arguement could go on until the end of time.

Sorry Gomito your telling me Serie A is strong currently? Why? Just because in their own league certain teams are leading the way? In Europe those teams have been found wanting.

A few years ago a trip to the San Siro, Delle Alpi or Stadio Olympico was to be feared, now its more to do with crowd trouble than the opposition. Serie A is at its weakest point for many a year. Most of the greats are getting long in the tooth these days. Even in Spain Barca and Real are shadows of themselves in years gone by.

This year the Champions leagu has been poor across the board.

You failed to mention that i mentioned Roma, INTER and AC MILAN in my post, the latter two of which where eliminated by us and the Arse.

So im not being biased to United.

I agree w/ Luck and all but Ronaldo`s header was more of timing and knowing your players...That set up from scholes was pure genius a soft lob in the air lol look like an NBA ali-oop slam dunk and broke the rim type of shot.

Dags there's things that can be discussed fairly but there pointless totally such as IFS and BUTS if that was the case i probably still would be talking about last season's semi with Milan IF Milan didn't play so good or IF we didn't have our whole backline injured we would have won. in the end these things our part of the game need to be left alone and move on yet that wasn't the annoying thing more of the blatent people who just can't giv united credit when its due that make childish remarks in this thread and the numbers our growing :(

The thing is though he's right. We played (IMO) one of our best games in the CL for a long time, it was a very professional controlled performance we did the perfect job and some would say the italian job :). Antred your wrong about Serie A IMO they have alot more depth in their league, and to be fair Milan are going through tough times and need a season or two to get back to their best. Inter have always been a underacheiving side in the CL so theres nothing new there. while Roma are a good side which we got the better of last night but they also beat a good Real side the round before so for me Serie A is still a top league with top quality teams.

YoungGun, I see what you're saying but I think everyone will agree Utd deserved to win last night? Why? Because you took your chances and Roma didn't. Utd played well at an intimidating ground against a good team and created enough chances to score, and did so. So they did well, everyone has to agree with that.

But what I was saying was that Roma could've put enough past you to have beaten you. It wasn't a walkover by any stretch of the imagination. And if we had eleven men and had an even match against you, it wouldn't have been so easy.

My posts have been in response to Plan M saying those scores weren't a coincidence. That comes across to me that he's implying you won both games convincingly, and I don't think that was the case for either game. Well, you did against us but I'm saying if we both had eleven men, it would've been different. Though I could be wrong and taking Mike's comments out of context?

everyone's giving their opinion and it ain't fair to call them childish anyway thats also your perspective so can't blame you!! Ronaldo's header was good but the second was scrappy!!

I agree with that Dags we wouldn't have beat you as easy as it seemed if it would have been 11 v 11 but still think we would have won :)

Aye, more likely to beat us than us win, definately. But it wasn't a fair match, which was a shame. I'd have been happy coming away with a point from that match at the start of the game.

nontheless manchester did 12 shots wich is the same roma did... and this is not a view, but a fact ;))

btw guys, u seem to underestimate one (imo) big factor. manchester was playing at the olimpico yesterday. did u hear the crowd??? i mean, it was pretty average for roma's standards, but the atmosphere u breathe at the olimpico is something premiership players never experience in england.

nontheless the red devils didn't look under pressure at all. the confidence they showed was something fantastic. for the whole first half it almost looked like roma was the away team. roma started playing football just after manchester's first goal (wich was like a slap in the face which woke up the giallorossi).

up until the half time, the red devils were in control of the match.
so yeah, roma had a lot of scoring chances too, and if they wouldn't have been so unlucky they might have won the match...
but afterall that's the least u can expect, when a top team like roma plays on its own turf.
what u wouldn't expect instead, is seeing the away team creating almost the same amount of scoring chances the home team did.... and that's exactly what happened yesterday.

manchester united is such a young team, most of their players are pretty young. so u would expect them to show the same lack of composure, confidence and personality roma shows every now and then........
instead yesterday it was like watching men playing versus kids, and the personality, the ability to read the flow of the game manchester showed was awesome....especially if u consider the age of their players.

they didn't sit back. milan sat back at emirates. inter sat back at anfield. manchester instead played an almost perfect game; they defended (really well) and they tried to attack as soon as they got their chances.
they played as a top team should play on an away match.

so yes, roma could have won yesterday...... but if they would have won, it wouldn't have been a deserved win.... because when the away team creates almost as many scoring chances as the home team, then the away team definitely deserves to win.

um, youngbow&arrowgun, yes there is a need to be childish with kids, you know.:-pp. no wonder a lot of 'childish posts' happen in this thread.

Anyway, agree with Lo Zio there. Was watching the game, and it felt like Roma really was the away team. In fact, until United scored, all Roma did was 'try' to 'grab' the chances they got. After the first goal, they played in some good little 'tridents' (mancini,aquillani and vucinic). But not many times though. I think only once they got behind the back four of United. After Rooneys goal though, it was all hoof- and- poof. Ultra long balls (that would make Carra embarrased) and just nothing else really. Then they began the pushing and shoving. Mexes was losing it, and had the game not ended soon, the boy would be on his way for an early shower.

All in all, the Ronaldo goal was very good, Roma's composure was miserable, and the confidence of United was really admirable.

Why is everyone still banging on about the Liverpool game for fucks sake, its in the past, We couldnt of wished for a better result last night, well chuffed, aint watched mutv yet so I dunno how bad Vidic is, hope its nothing serious, saying that tho O'Shea did great there last night, plus we have Silvestre back now
