Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I love it how people still say "If Masch wasn't sent off it would of been a different game.....etc.....zzzzz"

The fact is, the silly sod DID get sent off. 1-0 down and he's mouthing off at the ref left, right & centre.

Anyway, I really don't wanna go into that debate again, we all know the best team won. Again. ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Again, True. You can't really use 3-0 against a 10-man team as a sign of how superior you are. Nor can you use a win against a team who could've beaten you by the same score had it been a different night.

If you'd beaten us with us having eleven men, and won 3-0 ...

If you beat Roma 2-0 and restricted them to little or no chances THEN I'd say it's no coincidence. But the fact is both teams the circumstances went well for you.

So you think if he hasn't mouthed off and we had eleven men, you'd have won 3-0 so easily still? That the sending off didn't change a thing?

You are right. It could have been different. If Ronaldo's volley and shot against the post and Carrick's shot had gone in, it could have been 0-5.

Gotta love Dags with his "if this" and "if that". At the end of the day mate, we are superior to you and have been for some time now, you are just too proud and blinkered to admit it. The harsh fact is that the league tells the whole story......

Isn't your auntie called Pete then? Damn those false pretences, I'm a sucker for a lad in a skirt...The deceiving woman

:LOL::LOL:You really think ManU would have scored 3 goals if Masch was there.

It doesn't make any difference; the point is that they've won...Masch is no superman yet...you think if he'd be there he'd stop all the attacks, provide creative passing and assist and shoot the ball in the goal himself??:brick:

Who said anything about you being superior to us? I'm saying I doubt you'd have won 3-0 had we had eleven players. And Roma could've just as easy won 2-0 had they had more luck.

Maybe ManU would have won or maybe it would have been a draw but atleast that soddin Nani wouldnt have scored for sure!!

People seem to think having a man less isn't a disadvantage then? That the other team doesn't have a better chance of winning because there's one less player to play against?

You'd be pretty naive to say results would be the same against eleven men as the result was against ten men :brick:

If Inter had eleven men on the pitch for both of their games against us, I'm certain it'd have been a VERY different game, with Inter having a good chance to beat us. As soon as they went to ten men in both games, it was a different story.

I think the point I'm getting at is you're making a lot of saying beating us 3-0 and Roma 2-0 isn't a co-incidence and as if you completely outplayed both teams like you're unstoppable. And no, we probably couldn't stop you if Masch had stayed on the pitch, but we might've got a point and very much doubt beaten 3-0. Maybe even nicked a goal.

It seems like Manutd are the only one playing Europe (CL) while the other EPL teams play each other...I rather play Roma and Barca your experience grows in those matches IMO

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

If Liverpool beat Roma 2-0 last night it would of been very different then eh Dags? I've never understood how a supporter can defend a 3-0 loss and then go on to say that Roma wouldn't of lost 2-0 if they'd had more luck.

YOU MAKE YOUR OWN LUCK IN FOOTBALL. Take your Liverpool glasses off just for once mate!

No, you can only beat what's in front of you, like we did against 10-men Inter.

You don't think Roma had chances to score and win? You don't agree Utd took their chances while Roma didn't?

Oh, you make your OWN luck? So teams don't get lucky wins?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

I think the point Dags is trying to make is that even though you won, deservedly so on both occassions, it doesn't meant that you are vastly superior to either team.

In a sentence, exactly what I'm trying to say, cheers :D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

Football is all about skills and luck. Panucchi and Vucinic both missed shots which were supposed to be sure goals. It was their bad luck and ManU's good luck that it didnt go inside the net. No one makes their own luck in football. If they do then i guess along with learning football skills players will have to learn to make their own luck. e.g. the Portsmouth match against ManU. ManU missed i guess atleast 10 close shots which were almost goals. and then worse, Kuzak got red card and Portsmouth won. I guess that was sheer luck.

is it luck, or is it a better player like totti would not have missed it...

you tell me? both teams are quality it was a good win for united, who are not superior to roma at all...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

It's luck. Man Utd have good players, capable of scoring the chances they had at Portsmouth normally. But it just wasn't their day.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

come on mate... Roma could have easily made the victory into a draw or even a loss. They should have scored from the two opportunities they had and Doni should have kept the ball better or the defenders should have done a better job of tracking Rooney!! Luck was on ManU side and they took the most use of it!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

it was a great goal by ronaldo, good power, great ariel prowess, even knocked a defender in the process. good goal.

but rooney...................more down to bad defending, or still good skill?

Thts luck too mate that Totti got injured for the home match. and anyways Vucinic isnt a bad player that he can miss those type of shots. both teams had 12 shots on goal. but united converted 2 of them. Ofcourse Roma didnt play well and that is the major reason. but luck also played its own small game.

yea mate ur write, it surely is luck.:)) but the bad thing is that bitch luck stays only with either of the team which we dont know. that sux.:((

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread, 5 points clear + 7 games left = 10th Prem T

:applause: Just what I was thinking mate. But if L'pool win it I'm sure he'll quickly retract that statement. ;)

Antred - Just a question mate. After ALL of our results you seem to think the refs or opposing teams CONSTANTLY help us? You can't seem to say "United were unstoppable today." It's always "The opposition just bow down for United" or "The ref was on their side."

You can only beat what's put in front of you and 3-0 against Liverpool & 2-0 away at Roma isn't just a coincidence mate. :)

Ive not mentioned anything about refs because the ref never affected the match last night. I only mention refs when they do. If United win fair and square thats fine, and they did so last night.

My point is United are good enough without helping hands in certain matches. :)
