Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Got on today after watching the Gunners getting a smashing and was quite chuffed then saw this :( http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3071771,00.html

normally theres always a rumour of Ron leaving but when his mum comes out and says its HER dream for him to play at Real Madrid and she hopes he fullfills this for her before she passes away seems like big bad news of maybe Ron going in the summer or not signing a new deal

I wouldn't worry. He's contracted for another 5 years I think and Mijatovic (Real's director) said that signing Ronaldo and Cesc is an impossibility so he won't be going anywhere just cos his dozy old dear says she likes Real Madrid. If he does I'm sure they'd get a fair old packet anyway.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

are you serious? ronaldo probably gets paid that a month in endorsements... tiger woods gets 80 million a year in endorsements, i wouldnt think ronaldo is too far behind, then thow in his wages at manu... he is a rich rich rich man

I have the rich list here in front of me.

Ronaldo is the 100th richest footballer in the UK and is worth £12.5 million. He gets paid £125,000 a week at United (that's before Nike sponsorship deals). A Bugatti Veyron is a piss in the ocean to him.

thats just his salary right? not endorsements?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Manucho is starting up front for angola, but can't watch it anywhere, so no idea how he looks :(

Yep the "virtually impossible signings" story came out today, so i guess were all good there but was a short scare;) Spurs on sunday will be a game to see for neutrals i think can see goals galore the way they did counter attacks against Arsenal reminded me of us but still not as good us as us...surely not?:)

Manucho was the best player on the pitch for Angola, scored a diving header and showed good skills,SAF got it right by signing him,but do you know what is gonna do with him?loan?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

you guys dont have creative accounting? or tax breaks for the rich? like interest on loans, etc.. or tax shelters?

the sort of money we're talking about its easy to offset paying all that tax..

offshore accounts etc...

as for any merchandise/endorsements...

you set up a company to recieve the money and pay less tax...

Rooney bought his for £1..

theres plenty of ways around it..

thats good to hear, ive not seen much of the ACN...

its been hinted that he'll go to portugal on loan..

probley to one of the clubs we'll be looking to do business with in the summer...

so porto or lisbon...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

more real madrid stories coming out...

if madrid are such a huge draw...

how come they have to go to such lengths..

and be so underhanded in signing players....

if ronnie goes he goes...

no doubt we will uncover a new star and move on (as we always do)

maybe one day madrid will produce there own world beaters instead of buying everyone elses...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Pot and kettle springs to mind....

lol dont think our record of producing/developing young/unknown talent (and winning trophies with them) is too bad....

big difference in waiting until someone else has developed the player then swooping in for him when he is a world beater...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Aint that the truth! Its benn a long time ago sice the Becks, scholes ,Nevilles ect.

Dress it up how you like, you spend big on big players. You can't really complain when bigger clubs want to buy your best players can you?

Not like you did with Rio then...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

All down to fergie then, Im sure they wouldnt have turned into World Class players without him..!

Exactly you did really well getting that unknown talent of Rooney for nearly 30 million pounds!!

Good find - I don't know how nobody else noticed his potential

like who...

yes we spend big...

but on potential...

ruud wasnt a well known player....

ronaldo, anderson and nani are/were relativley unknown..

so we're vidic/heinze/evra..

wenger spent big (well for arsenal) on reyes and theo..

how did that work out??

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread .

Not like you did with Rio then...

or like we did with pallister either..

whats ya point..

notice you didnt mention vidic...

and rooney is a much better player than when he was at everton...

look at his goal return..

and throw in a few trophies aswell..

yeah the best english player for a generation...

but we were the only team willing to bankroll that much on...

"potential"...

for all wengers fantastic signings...

the only trophy you have had a sniff of in the last three years is..

the carling cup...
