Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Shocking news really with Rossi's departure but the light at the end of the tunnel might just be Carlos Tevez. The court has rightfully proclaims Kia Joorabchian, full ownership of Carlos Tevez and West Ham has no power whatsoever to stop him from moving to OT.We could see little Tevez being unveiled before the Charity Shield kick-off.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

How will this work though, as it is illegal for English teams to buy players that arnt owned by the club, Hense why West Ham are fighting the case because that would mean they carried on breaking the premier league rules....?

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Apparently we have the option of buying back Rossi some time in the future cuz its a clause in his contract. Very smart move by Sir Alex.

So long as it gets resolved and Tevez is unveiled as a United player soon I am not really bothered about the technicalities of it all.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

It is a permanent deal but SAF has already stated that if we want him back we can sign him with no interferance from Villareal which for sounds like a sort of loan deal if he proves he is United quality

he's defo united quality...

i was sorry to see him go so im glad to see we've got the first option to buy him back...

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Its not looking good for Heinze..

From The Guardian:

Gabriel Heinze faces the distinct possibility of being frozen out at Manchester United because of his aggressive pursuit of a transfer to Liverpool. Sir Alex Ferguson is so appalled at the defender's conduct that there are misgivings within Old Trafford about whether the Argentina international should be considered for first-team action for as long as the dispute remains unresolved.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Like AW says "If anyone is not happy they should leave" SAF is a bulldog if he wants out and go to liver...let him go stop dragging the drama.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

In United's defence, second goal was a clear foul on Evra which gave them posession...but Inter are owning the centre of the pitch. I didn't realise O'Shea was playing til about 40 mins through :)

When he took that shot from long distance? That's when I noticed him. And realized maybe that's why United is losing the midfield battle...

Here comes Adriano, at least he's not overrated in real life... :)

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Oh no, he's massively overrated in real life ;)

Ferdinand should have scored, United played pretty well in the second half, Inter were poor after a few subs. Still a good run out, Rooney looked great. Giggs looked rusty though, he and carrick had loads of misplaced passes.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

i think a 3 - 2 scoreline wasnt bad for the fact hargreaves, scholes, nani, anderson and possibbly tevez werent featuring and i "think" that was inter's first team in the first half so it wasnt all bad

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

wasn't all bad, but i really have to say, our back 4 needs to be better.

on the other hand, u people still sure Evra over Heinze in terms of skill and defense??? (not counting the fact that the reports want him to leave....)

p.s. yea i'm very optimistic as long as Heinze didn't say himself he wants to leave, i don't hear by it yet...hahaha

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

with rossi gone.... smudge off.. saha injured...and a delay on tevez

do you still think we need a young top class striker...
ie huntelaar...imbrahmovic...fred...

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

No point in buying any of those guys. Once Smith, Saha and Tevez are ready to go, you'd have too many players on the bench that will demand first team football.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

After the Tevez deal is done...I'm still unsure if we are done spending.Rumour has it that Juve is willing to part with Raffale Palladino in exchange for Heinze. That would be great.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Its been like that at Arsenal for years and there hasn't been a problem. Surely thats what a season ticket is for??

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Yeah, we get the first 7 cup games included in the price (which is the main reason why ours are always quoted as the most expensive, take the cup games away and it is not too bad). The cup games include Champions League matches.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Well i didnt know that, has it always been like that or since you moved to the Emirates? And your right then the rags have no excuse!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I bet there was a decrease when they first introduced it though, although there was more a queue for Highbury.

Could be they've finally pissed people off enough that they're staying away.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

so basically we have Rooney and....(cricket)..... doesnt sound good :(

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

F*cking el...we must be missing something. Fergie has stated dozens of times in the past he believes in having 4 strikers. Must have osmethin gup his sleeve.

Or he believes in the 4-3-3, and hence doesn't need another striker.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

i definetly know think we'll start the season with

Van Der Sar
Neville ferdinand Vidic evta
Carrick Hargy
Ronaldo Giggs Nani
Rooney
