Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

The point is though, that nobody slammed anyone. The media quoted him as saying "they paid too much for Nani". That's all. No slamming.

What do you guys think? I cant remember the last time we had a single vertical/slanted/horizontal line motif across the front?...looks kinda cool.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

VERY NICE!!! i like it a lot!!!

but then it kinda looks like the Inter kit, just without the middle line!! hahaha...but i like this kit!!!

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

more simple than the all red one?
I don't really like it myself. It's just not Man Utd. Why can't we just stick to the same style each year. It makes the crowd look too varied when they wear them.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Its fake. Its a photoshop from last years photoshoot.

Going by history i'm sure the away kit for the new season will be black. The current away (white) will be the 3rd kit.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Okay.Fuck Maillots.I just got owned.Clever how they edited Rio's hair too.

Anyway..just heard that we have increase the offer to Sampdoria for Fabio Quagliarella. The kid's seemed really keen to play for us too.I think about 12Mill should do it.Have him and Gudjohnsen onboard and we're good to go.

hahahaha . coming from a club that just last season paid huge money for 2 players that haven't justified their price tags :lmao:

I get the impression he would rather stay in Italy, I thought Juve may sign hm but they jave just bought a CF from Udinese....

Still I think we should go for him, Boro are sniffing round Smithy so maybe the club are waiting to raise some cash from outbound players...

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

We dont need two new strikers. Just Gudjonsen's enough. We probably wont need him either if Nani and Anderson are even half as good as those youtube videos make them out to be.
I cant wait for next season to start. We were unstoppable at times last season and our attack is arguably twice as good now. We dont really need anyone else.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

true. we dont really need 2 new strikers . especially when they're wayyyyyy overpriced . one's more than enough if smithy is staying .

I'd say Nani is as good as the videos.

Anderson is or will quickly become twice as good as the videos.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I'm not saying they're not. I'm just saying they look so good, I'd be happy if they were half as good as that.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Smithy to Newcastle for £4mill...

Also Fabio Quagliarella's agent:

"I know there's some interest from Manchester United. I'm very proud of it, as he is.

"But United have had no contact with me or with Sampdoria. He'd be keen on playing in England, for sure."

"We have many things to think of, as many big clubs in Italy too are interest in a player like Fabio."

"We can talk about Inter Milan, Juventus, Man Utd, Chelsea - this is no problem for the player as they are all massive clubs.

"I don't know when Fabio will decide his future but the transfer window is open until 31 August and we have no perference at the moment.

"The first club that shows us they want to sign Fabio Quagliarella, we are ready to play with them.

"The fee will be between £10-13.5m, that will be enough for Sampdoria and Udinese, who own half of his registration."

Hhhmm didnt he say we had made abid, dont like the sound of this now, had a feeling from the start that we might be getting used to raise this kids profile....

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Well SAF has no choice but to buy a striker now.

Owen or Martins will leave Newcastle.

Defoe may leave Spurs.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Still not sure on him. I thought Maccarone was great until he went to Middlesboro. I'd take Martins if he was going though.

Forget Owen. There's no room in the treatment room as Saha pays rent for the space.

I dont know how people can compare Owens injuries to Sahas???

Owen broke his toe in a collision like Rooney. Then he got take to the WC unfit & twisted his knee.

That just unlucky. Owen has a clause for about 10m. Own will get you 15 goals a season. Rooney needs to play behind someone.

It beggars belief that people are saying no to a striker who will get us goals. Like everyones stated we cant rely on Saha & Rooney is not a main striker.

Smith is going now. Its my opinion but i would like Bent but 17m for him is a joke & Defoe is greedy. Torres for 27m can stay in Madrid.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

I personally dont want Mickey Owen at OT.We already have a similar player with bigger potential in Guiseppe Rossi.Bring someone big who can hold up the ball and attack crosses from our wingplay...currently only two names cropped up in my mind,David Trezeguet and Miroslav Klose.World Class,Proven and Guaranteed Goals.

I'd say Trezeguet fits your squad better, because he's used to ManU's style of play. Don't know if Klose would adapt to a lot of dribblers around him...

You can't seriously want Owen. His only asset was his pace and that has gone. He'd be England first then us. The only thing he seems arsed about is breaking Charlton's record. Smith would score 15 goals if he played in our attack for a full season.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Exactly. Why look for someone when you have Super Alan Smith?

I aint saying i want Owen i am saying to say hes as injury prone as Saha is laughable. His only asset was his pace is a joke also. Hes a class finisher.

You have your opinion i have mine.

Smith does not score enough goals so i couldnt care less that hes gone tbh.

We need a striker who can hold up the ball but the that SAF is going i would not be suprised to see Owen or bloody Defoe come in.

SAF seems to be all about pace right now.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Smith has never really been given a proper run of games upfront apart from when he first moved and Ruud was injured. He scored goals then so i cant see why he wouldnt now if given a proper run rather than a game her and a sub appearance there.
Like i said before we need players like Smith to compliment the flair players otherwise we're gona end up like Arsenal and be bullied off the pitch.

If you check your history, you'll see that Owen was injured a lot for Liverpool too... and I never said he was as injury prone as Saha, just injury prone.

Re: Manchester United Thread - Champions 2006/07

Id welcome Owen at OT, no matter what people say about him, if he's fit, he will score goals. When he had that small uninjured run at Newcastle, he scored a hat-trick in one game, and was getting a goal a game it seemed, but that was a short period of time. If United's physio's could manage to keep him fit, then we'd be getting a 20+ goal a season striker due to the chances we create

I agree.

Also i know he was injured alot at Liverpool mainly hamstring injuries which like Giggs hes sorted. The last of his injuries were just plain bad luck.

Owen hamstring are a family trait i think. I remember one of the commetators saying so.

If we were offered Owen for 9mil would anyone say no to that?
