i here by pass on the PHD of football studies (paper thesis: Fernando Torres Fame>ability) to PLF with a wonderfully written paper...in which has shown me much light in this move and has my full respect!!!

i have to say i was taken in by the media and what he has done in the WC only...not much on the league basis...there is a chance that SAF can train him to become a great striker and show out his potential like he did with C. Ron...but again, i agree with it being risky!!

i'd prefer Adriano, instead of Tores!
Much more physical and sharp player!
When you say a lone striker with the back up from Rooney, he's the first one I would think of!

Okay you lot...get off the Fernando Torres Bandwagon right now.You heard it from PLF...get off now.Sammy Etoo has just said it live on tv that he is going nowhere next season and he would gladly welcome Henry to the Nou Camp.No to Torres and Etoo...lets all get on board the Klass Jan Huntelaar Bandwagon!!!

ps:Saha might come back a different player from that surgery in the US if its done by the same surgeon that healed Ruud and Owen.Its a revolutionary surgery procedure,very interesting and practical if you lot ever heard about it.

I would still have preferred Klose over all the strikers mentioned but it seems as though hes set for Bayern now. Saviola would do nicely on a free.

Klose is world-class but does anyone else thinks he is too one dimensional? A natural old-fashion centre forward he is.David Villa is another big name striker to rule himself from moving anywhere next season.Mannnn,its getting tight.

Still would like Torres has he has won fook all so he will be hungry to do well in Europe as well.

Only SAF knows. Huntelaar will stay at Ajax i feel.

I'd rather just get a Gudjonsen type of player. We dont need a big star signing, we just need someone who can help our current players get to world class status.

I'd love it if David Trézéguet joined United. He has an amazing goal-scoring record with Monaco/Juventus/France (193 goals in 329 games according to Wikipedia).:p

He's also tall and well built.

Im still pissed off at him for scoring that goal that knocked us out against Monaco. Top striker though!

who decides these things?

Chelsea away on 26th april looks like they're after a title decider. I thought they stopped doing this after the problems with Celtic and Rangers.

Need a main striker. Gudjohnse for 6-8m plus a main striker and i wil be happy.

He will saty at Braca for another year tho i feel.

I'd like to see Smith get a full season of pissing defenders off with Rooney while Ronaldo, Nani, Scholes and Anderson work their magic. If he's not up to it, THEN we should get rid.

Watched Nani last night in the U-21 Championships and although he didnt do much there was a certain Dutch player who caught my eye and probably many others named Drenthe. He played on the left wing mainly but also shifted to the right and centre. He was strong, quick, great dribbling ability and a great cross on him. Definitely in my opinion a player United should have a look at.

Hhhmmm...

According to todays press Barca want to swap Gudjohnsen for the highly rated Pique, apparently Zaragoza offered £7mill for the player...

Could be a good deal, we obviously need a striker and a Rooney/Gudjohnsen partnership would be a good frontline...

Another striker who we have (according to his agent) already bid for is Fabio Quagliarella, he plays for Sampdoria and Italy U21, dont know anything about him, maybe one of our Italian friends can educate us on his potential/ability....

Wow the kid has got some talent, good with both feet, scores spectacular goals and tap ins and even looked decent in the air...

Looks very promising....

Yes Eidur and Fabio would defo add alot of potency to our attack...

I only hope we are in for him and his agent isnt just using our name to get him some visibilty...

Quagliarella is nowadays "the new man of the italian football".
he's a complete fwd, he can play as striker and as sp as he's very, very technical.

he constantly improved in the past few years, but this season he really was a crack!
he scored 13 goals in 35 matches, wich is a very good result as novellino (samp coach) often placed him as a side midfielder or wing.

actually i love him, but i think it's still to early to say is a great player. he's heading in the right direction, but it's still young and just one great season isn't enough to judge a player.

1 last thing: he always scores spectacular goals. of course it doesn't matter, but it looks like he can score just amazing goals. just try to type "quagliarella" on youtube and u'll see what i'm talking about.....

the more I watch him the more I rate him...

United is a good move for a young player like him, especially with other more experienced young playes like Rooney/Ronaldo to show him the way...

I'm trying to think of an Italian player to ever play at United so it would be interesting, especially with Lippi coming out of retirement to succeed SAF wink wink.....
