Manchester United Thread

Well after Liverpool dropping even more points today it's gonna be out of Arsenal, United and Chelsea (never write the Chavs off) for the title race in my opinion. Chelsea will try and bore everyone to death but they still win points in tough matches. Arsenal are my favourites but United will push them all the way.

Exciting stuff! :)

Well, after this result, I see going for a few absolute thrashings and then kicking on, and Arsenal will falter, we'll pull ahead and do it in style from now on I reckon.

We'll see mate, we play you in 3 weeks and its going to be a cracker!

We could afford dropping all six points v the gooners last year..

although, IMO slightly overated, arsenal have looked the team most likely to take our title so hopefully no similar gifts this season....

We have a better defence that the Gooners, that's a fact. Also, we have MANY first eleven players missing. I wonder how Arsenal will do if Fabregas, Van Persie or Toure get injured?

to be fair they have had a few players out aswell...

but yeah they are leaking goals...

Before Sunday we had gone 4 games without conceding so thats a bit wide of the mark. I think we have tightened up at the back this season. If anything we look more dangerous up top than you, we have 19 goals to your 11.

Whatever the result nothing is won in the autumn.

I just think the results around the Cup of Nations are gonna be crucial, because we don't have any African players, so we won't lose some of the big names in our team like the others (Arsenal = Aadebayor/Chelsea = Drogba etc.)

Where you`ve been Drogba been missing all season and to think Arsenal was never even a thought of challenging for title this term. Yes! it`s early a lot of games left to play but defending the 4th spot vs champion spot is very much different...so keep in mind Arsenal`s future is brighter and less expensive.

Fair comment but we will be missing Eboue (squad player at best), Toure (Djourou can just slot in) and Adebayor, hopefully Eduardo will be up to speed then. I don't think its such a massive deal missing those players for 3 weeks.

wow you rate Eboue a squad player, i really rated him he took Lauren's spot but dunno what happenend this year? Sagna was a good buy but i thought Eboue was more than good enough? Its like if Man Utd replaced Evra with a new LB who is better but still isnt needed?

Its hard to tell what impact they'll make. The only thing you know for sure is that you're gonna have to fiddle around with a team thats already doing well. Small changes, even if they're making the team stronger on paper, dont always work out.

I kinda think we've had a similar problem here. Last season we were unstoppable against most teams and people thought bringing in Nani, Anderson and Tevez would make things better. Sure they can potentially be better as time goes and they gel with the rest of the team but at the moment we're nothing like we used to be cuz we made changes to a team that works, even if it looks like its for the best on paper.
Its kinda like gambling. You need to know when to stop playing and leave with the money. If you have a good team, its best to leave it how it is rather than trying harder to improve it further cuz you might just ruin what you had before.

Needed you say? at the price of chicken feed buy 3 more fullbacks...understand are players were bought on the cheap to put it short we buy the seed and reap the fruits and if the taste doesn`t fancy then ship them off no worries except reyes

Eboue is great coming forward but he can't defend! Thats why we bought Sagna, who is real quality! A high percentage of the goals we conceded last season came from teams attacking down our right. If Eboue plays he's likely to be played right midfield.

The guy is 18 years old, people forget that. It difficult to perform consistently when you are always on the bench. There were signs last Sunday that he is starting to get there though, he was brilliant when he came on and created the winning goal.

God its turned into an Arsenal vs Man United thread.....

I personally think Arsenal look dangerous this season but like all teams they are due a bad patch... Id like to think we have had ours with draws against Reading and Portsmouth and defeat to Man City and of course all them 1-0 wins we have had and played shit in.

yeah arsenal looking good all round, looking forward to seeing our forwards go at the gooners defense, should be a good game...

but taking points of ya nearest rivals, helps.......

bought "on the cheap" but not looked like winning the title since the unbeaten season.....

what good is that??

Toure will be a massive loss as will Adebayor. Toure going is like Vidic going for us.

Rumours of Miguel Veloso being available in January really perks the interest in me.From what I have seen,he is a really solid defensive midfielder whom is equally able to play at centreback. So far all reports have stated that Sporting has denied that we have first option on their players but look who we got from them,Ronaldo and Nani...lets see if we will get Veloso by January.
