Manchester United Thread

I'd love to hear how you came up with that.

From my brain cells to my hands on the keyboard?

If Mourinho was at United he would've signed some players by now, probably not stars, but players who get the job done.

ManU is one of my favourite teams to play with on WE/PES, so i'd like to see some new players come in... ;)

I'm really starting to feel what the rest are saying. Its really not fun to be a United fan this summer, damn it.
wasnt rooney signend on the last day of the transfer window? and why is everyone forgetting about Evra? Heinze? Vidic? we have three old fogeys, scholes, giggs, and ole... we have lots of young and mid aged talent, rooney, ronaldo, richardson, rossi, park, smith, rio, saha etc.... yes we are lacking in the central midfield, but giggs impressed the hell out of me last year, we get carrick and im loving this lineup

-----------van der sar------------

neville-----rio------brown---------heinze

-------------carrick--------------------

ronaldo--------giggs------------park

--------------scholes-------------

------------rooney----------------

If Mourinho brought some of Abramovich's money with him he might

He had great seasons at Benfica, Uniao Leiria and Porto while signing unknown players. But they got the job done.

We Benfica fans complain about our signings, but let me tell you, we got some good players in without spending that much money. So what the hell is wrong with United?

With the players you've got you need the starting 11 injury free for the whole season, and you know thats probably not gonna happen...

I'm scared Mauras is going to jump in here to prove the portugese league is as tough as the prem, but just quickly: he didn't win the premiership with unkown players. He won the premiership with probably the best team money's ever bought. Even he knows this, which is why he'll leave in the not too distant future, to prove he doesn't need cash to win.

That's true. My point being, since the beginning, that Mourinho would've done as well of better than SAF in the 2nd half of last season. And that he'd be signing some good and needed players for United if he was in SAF's shoes.

This isn't an argument abour Portuguese vs English whatever, it's about the sad sight of a great club that seems still in time.

If you dont have as much money as chelsea or other clubs, you have to go around that problem. Hope you do.

Thats not the point. The question was, which other manager could achieve what SAF did with the amount of injuries that we had.

I know but you didnt explain why. Has Mourinho been under that kind of pressure?

Yes. When he maneged Benfica for half a season (the second half), he had to deal with a really crap team, with crap players. He still did a great job. And there's no bigger pressure in Portugal than coaching Benfica... :)

And since he can be considered the best manager in the world, i bet there's no pressure that can get to him.

RVN left for Real yes or no ?

A spanish site says it's already done for 15 M€ and on a french site they say Sir Alex's still waiting because he wants 22 M€ for RVN !
Who can confirm, please ?

Madrid clearly aren't serious. £10m for RVN? Look at some of the other players going for that, hell Jermaine Pennant just went for £6.2m. I feel a bit bad for Ruud, I do hope United do let him leave if he's that intent on it, but not at some stupid price.

Thought Fletcher actually looked alright last night, certainly not as out of his depth as he sometimes does. Whether that's a reflection of the match or his improvement I don't know. Rossi needs to score in preseason, his confidence must be pretty low at the moment. Missed a wide open header first half...

Speaking of shit papers, the Mirror is saying Fergie is meeting up with Macherano's agents today...now that is the first piece of good news I've heard all summer. Too bad it's the Mirror, and hence completely crap.

Its logical we should go after mascherano. Nobody else is in competition to sign him. He is only 22 a defensive midfielder and wouldnt cost no more than 16million. He also had a great world cup and proved he can handle the big occasions.

If Ruud goes who is going to be our possible 30 goal a season man? We need someone to replace him 1st and foremost.

DJ

We don't need 1 player with 30 goals, we need Saha, Rooney, Scholes and Ronaldo to each be around 15, I think teams were beginning to realise if they double marked Ruud our other players weren't nearly as clinical, hence why some games it felt like we couldn't score to save our lives.

Tevez should be available also.

Can Rooney & Tevez play together? Only one way to find out.

tevez is a bull, he is very much like rooney in build and stature and plays very much the same. I dont think they could work together to be honest but I wouldnt mind if we signed him. He is very skillful and runs at defenders. Better than saha

Anyone know if Mascherano speaks english at all? I realise Quieroz and some of the players will handle the spanish just fine, (and Portugese if he's been in brazil for a while) but was wondering if it might be tough for scholesy/others to communicate. Which is a big part of a central midfield pairing.
