Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Well, i remember a lot of united fans and players always complaining about him driblling too much, maybe it kinda "castrated" him in a way. You have to give these sort of players a certain amount of freedom, like Ronaldinho has, or Messi is being given right now...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

IMO, you should let the player decide where to draw the line cuz you dont want to give him too much freedom and not too less.
If he lets the players and the team down, he'll eventually learn himself how he should be using his ability.

If you suddenly tell a kid to not do something, they would probably listen but not really understand why. If you let them see and experience the bad side for themselves, they would control themselves without you having to tell them about it.

Yup. Plus Ruud is at the top of the scorers list where he belongs.

Did you misspell your username or something?

;) shouldn't be too hard to translate that? :) maybe I should have used RvN to avoid the clever remark! ;)

Well about Ronaldo's form. It kinda reminds of Quaresma. Great youngster at sporting, lighting speed, out of this world dribble. Went to Barça, started well, but then got relegated to the bench. Then went to Porto, passed the entire last year trying to dribble the opposing team by itself. This year, the coach "educated" him about team play, and now, well what can I say, he is amazing. Kept is dribble and speed and now plays for the team. Improved passing. Currently, looking at his form, the best portuguese player.

Maybe Ronaldo needs some time off. Putting him a few games off the team, specific training. and if the media would stop treating him like a spice boy (here in portgal aswell). It's affecting him and he looks like he thinks his place on the team is for granted. Well on the portuguese national it is with our coach(dumbass).

Yes i watch those games and those are the games we dropped points in. If we had won those games we would be in better position and ultimatley would have better home record but we dont! there is no use crying about it and being ungrateful with our recent results and asking for better when we are already going the right way about changing things at home.

What the f*ck is it with you jumping on every comment i make!?
I said we play well away yet have been under par at home so you tell me if thats not a truthful analysis or not.
What have i got to be grateful for? Its fans like me and many others who pump money into the club and players pockets by going to the games, buying replica kits etc.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Maybe we could give Scolari a call and ask him how we should use Ronaldo.
Dont honestly know what is wrong with Ronaldo. Maybe he should be given a bit of time off from football as it seems he needs it. Problem is we'd need cover.

Go on Alucard, u gona b*tch about what i said now aswell?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Dont forget that the death of his father may still come into play aswell & affect what is important in his life, & right now it does not look like its football.. :l

Hopefully he comes back fresh minded & on form like the clips RuneEdge posted.. :D

lol right... you actually was going on saying why cant we play good at home like this every week(referring to the 2-0win againt villa). And i said look at the wigan game at home we won 4-0. Then you moan about the everton, tottenham and blackburn matches and i explain we cant win them all, its not like we have lost and drawn all our home matches.

It just so happens the points we have lost this season have been at home. United dont turn up and think lets play shit coz we at home. So no its not truthful analysis coz we have played well at home on number occasions in the league. At everton we deserved to win but was unlucky we created the most oppotunities and their keeper had a good game. Tottenham match they scored from freekick to draw after we had dominated most of the game.Blackburn match was only match we played bad and deserved to lose. You need to stop swearing and behaving like a child acting like im always questioning you. Had someone else complained like you i would of said same thing.

Atleast the good news is that when we come up against Arsenal, they wont treat it as a must win game if they already know they are out of the race.

You are having a laugh mate. ;)

Every game against Man Utd is a must win game!

Please dont bring up the Everton game cos that was one of the crappest performances ive seen from a united team in recent years.
All im saying is that we expect better results and performances at home as any team would. In the past OT has been a fortress for us. No teams, apart from Arsenal would dare come looking for a result yet in the past year or so we have been well under convincing and look completely bereft of ideas most of the time.

But then you're only playing for pride. And in a game like that, it would be hard to motivate the new and younger players especially since Vieira is gone.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I think we're gona have to tussle with Arsenal in the Jan transfer window for a midfielder now. They need one badly if not more badly than us.
Well lads, Januarys nearly here now so who do you think the signing(s) gona be? I think Fergie should have a look at Diop of Fulham and if Real accept £5m or less for Gravesen then so be it.

You still miss the point, we are out of the race for the title but now we have to finish in the top 4 at least, so we need to pick up as many points as possible. There is no way we will roll over against you, we NEED the win!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Gota feel for the Gunners though. Theyve been hard done by in their previous 2 games but you know their lucks gona change soon, just hope we're not on the recieving end of it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Yeah but you remember when they went season unbeaten and all decisions went their way. For instance pires diving v portsmouth to win last min penalty and van nistelrooy missing pk at old trafford. I wouldnt feel sorry for them, they are getting their just deserves.

They would be laughing their heads off if united lost 3 games in a row, like when we went out of champions league. Btw im not having go at you, im just saying we shouldnt really pity arsenal. Its wengers fault anyway he should of signed a proper centre half to partner campbell and bought replacement for veira coz flamini is pants imo and he aint going to get any better.

I think thats a little bit strong don't you? I mean...all decisions??

As in life, if you want to be successful then you need a bit of luck. We got it on occasions that season, just like you did when you won the treble in 1999.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Not only that but to me it seems Campbells starting to lose it a bit aswell. Only John Terry looks as though he should be a certain starter as CB for england at the moment.

Well looking at our next few fixtures until the Arsenal game we should hopefully pick up maximum points.

Tuesday 20th Dec, Carling Cup
BIRMINGHAM v MAN UTD

Monday 26th Dec, Barclays Prem
MAN UTD v WEST BROM

Wednesday 28th Dec, Barclays Prem
BIRMINGHAM v MAN UTD

Saturday 31st Dec, Barclays Prem
MAN UTD v BOLTON

THE BIG ONE!
Tuesday 3rd Jan, Braclays Prem
ARSENAL v MAN UTD

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I wouldnt worry to much about arsenal, as SAF says 'we know how to deal with them'. Your right though, theres no reason why we shouldnt win all those upcoming fixtures.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I think it's dangerous to say what points we should pick up from up coming games, on paper we should have had maximum points from everton and rovers , but we got 1 point from those games. I think we will struggle against Bolton, they've done well against us recently and Big Sam always seems to have them fired up against us. So who's being bought in the january window?, personally i think it will have to be a def-mid possibly didier zakora.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Yeah i could see the Zakora thing happening. But i fear he'd just turn into another djembax2 or klebs. We need someone established who can just walk into the first team, or else SAF wil be reluctant to play them and smithy will just keep his place.

Perosnally i think we're onyl going to get a CB/FB as cover, probably not a big name either :(

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Well im hoping we sign Nigel De Jong considering the guy can play both CB or Defensive midfied and he is also only 21. Though i havnt seen the guy play , he is highly rated and dutch prospects most of the time turn out to be really good. Another thing is he wouldnt cost much because his contract runs out in summer so club dont want him to go on free.

As for those fixtures i dont usaully say we should win just from looking at fixtures, but you have to say those are some easy games bar arsenal. West brom we beat all the time for fun, birgminham can be tricky game but they are playing absolutly shit with no confidence. Bolton should be tough match but being at home should be enough incentive for the lads to bag all 3points, and arsenal well you know how i feel about that!

Or we wait an take him on a free anyway. ;)

Yeah, those two players look like the ones we might get but we always pull out a name from the hat that no one has heard of. Plus theres that big signing in the summer apparently too who we havent a clue about who it can be.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

3-1 Man U over Birmingham in the Carling cup. It's only Carling Cup but still good to see us get the win, obviously!

Saha with a brace and Park scores his first for United!! Good to see these guys on the scoresheet :)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

I think the best thing about the win was the fact that after half time the team seemed to be really up for it and got a couple of goals early, shows Ferguson hasn't lost it IMO.

There was the Rooney factor, as well :) He comes on, and within thirty or so seconds, they score!! Too bad Wayne had to come on at the expense of Rossi though... would love to see Rossi get more time than that (and he was unfortunate to hit the crossbar).

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

TBH, Rooney hardly made much of a contribution for the goals. He obviously affected the game like he always does but those goals would have come even if he wasnt on the pitch.

Great 2nd goal from Saha. I'm sure Sir Alex will be seriously thinking about pairing him up with Ruud.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Yeah saha has to partner rvn. Imo rooney and saha just dont work as they both tend to drop deep and play off the main striker. It sure should give saf better options and can even give rooney a break if need be.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Here some good news, we are likley to get vidic. He is highly rated and i think we need a decent strong centreback. Man im excited if we sign him,SAF rarely makes mistakes in signing centre backs. Its good i dea to start strengthing from the back first and foremost. This guy reminds me bit of stam and looks no nonsense here is article anyway.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Today Italian sources say hes signed with Fiorentina. They also quoted him saying that his 'heart was at Florence'..... jeez this guy is trying to please everyone.
