Manchester United Thread

btw Moyes actually said this: "Other clubs get penalties, we get bookings"

hilarious.

Must be the first manager in history to say decisions are going against his team, shocking.

And the analysing of every little comment continues... Yawn.

Anyway, didn't think we played that badly tonight, we definitely were unlucky with the goals, think we'll come through in the 2nd leg. Adnan was the standout performer for us again and Fletcher continues to surprise me when he plays, looks a far more composed player than some others, which is shocking given how long he has been out.

The sooner we get Rooney and van Persie back the better though, miss their quality.

Edit: good to hear the fans supporting the manager throughout the game too.

Give him til this time next year. Let him have a (nother) summer now that he's seen the squad, clear out some deadwood and get his best players back from injury.

Fergie had lost 3 games on the trot 8 times in his tenure. Without a doubt we're a bit rubbish right now, but to me this is has to be a lesson to Moyes about which players are good enough.

Also - and it's weak in isolation - but luck has all but abandoned us. An own goal, a soft penalty. Another match where we dominate possession, but lose because every half chance seems to be going in at the moment.

I mean, how often is Wayne Routledge going to hit a perfect first time volley over the keeper in his career? Once? Twice?

Just feels like nothing is falling Moyes' way.

And certain posters/fans of other teams - please enjoy yourselves. I wouldn't trade the last 25 years for much, thanks very much.

Also if you look at the Champions League, in my opinion he's done better than Fergie did in his last two seasons. His CL group (Shakhtar, Leverkusen, Sociedad) was at least as hard, if not harder than Fergie's last 2 (Galatasary, Cluj, Braga and before Benfica, Basel and Galati). Fergie's last 2 group typically had one fairly strong team (Galatasary / Benfica) and some truely hopeless teams (Braga, O. Galati, Cluj) yet his teams lost matches and actually went out in the Benfica, Basel, O. Galati group. Moyes by contrast had two other very good sides in his group (Shakhtar and Leverkusen) and solid enough third team (Sociedad, who had eliminated Lyons) - he was undefeated.

Moyes needs to change his tune. Saying "we played well and were unlucky" after every game, and now blaming the refs, is making him look an idiot. It's not like his team is conceding goals based purely on individual errors, they're just all round playing poorly.

Rafael was lucky not to get sent off.

Another week without Rooney, RVP, Nani and Young. Really need our 'second string' attacking players to pick it up.

More than anything else I'd just like Moyes to try something different. Maybe a diamond in the middle or something.

I haven't seen that since Ancelotti's Chelsea 'diamond ' . I can't see Mutd losing this, they want blood! My Mutd mates won't take my calls atm I guess calling them 'the new Liverpool' must of cross the line :(

So what do we do with Januzaj? with how hopeless we are we really need to play him, I mean looking at are options as of right now its just borderline pathetic how an 18 year old is by quite some distance the stand out player in our team.

Do we continue playing him even if its getting to the point were he's getting to many games than he really should and potential burn out could occur or do we just keep going with him and expect him to play close to 40 + games this season?

Welbeck the anti-striker strikes again. Only moment of quality in the first half and he can't even hit the target from 8 feet.

We're getting worse. No one is running. I don't care if you're not Zidane, if you're a midfielder, you run and close down your men. We're literally walking around the pitch.

This isn't just the worst I've seen United play in my life, it's probably the worst I've seen a top 10 play in the premier league.

33% possession. At home. To Swansea.

Don't think Welbeck is playing that poorly. At least he seems to give a shit. Possession stat wouldn't worry me as much if it weren't for the fact Swansea has more and more dangerous fast breaks than we do while having most of the possession. That is worrying.

Kagawa through the middle has added a spark, as well as Fletcher being really good too, great combination between those two.

Januzaj on another level though.

i wouldn´t call him genius, he is just a young talented and hungry not affraid player to take the chanes, he is pretty good keeping the ball and his left foot is great for such age.

watching this match is like two different teams in both halfs..

Aye..makes ya wonder what the hell they did during half time.

Kagawa s chance that was cleared off the line was frustrating to watch due to his slow release/control to shot but we re spoiled with only the likes of rvp,Rooney and Januzaj being able to consistently rapid fire on target.

Rafael was motm for me. What a difference that guy can make in calming the backline.
