Manchester United Thread

He was never hugely impressive for the reserves, but was very young and very small at the time. By all accounts he was a regular for the twice-league winning Molde team, and is now startin for the Norwegian U21s. But I haven't seen much of him in the last 2 years, so who knows.

Only plus is that he's still a huge United fan :)

Thanks, I remember him being announced in United as being very good but sort of lost any form of checking how he was doing!

Have you got a spare 100m down the back of the sofa or something?

Sure proof plan.

Dont think your going to beat ManCity in the kitty department. Mutd are a massive club ,but atm they shop at tesco for paper cups n plates.

Something to think about:

Fabio Da Silva was largely considered to be the better of the Brazilian twins who came into Manchester with the world at their feet. How then when we skip ahead 5 years has his brother Rafael, who in his own right is a fantastic player, excelled at right back for the club while Fabio has cut a forlorn figure at times and spent much of the last two years out on loan?
Is it by luck that Rafael the right back of the pair joined while Neville was coming toward the twilight of his career, making it notably easier to force his way in under Sir Alex who was always a big promoter of youth products, while Fabio the left back of the pair came into the squad behind Evra who had just cemented his place in the squad at left back and following the retirement of Neville had been named vice captain of the club.

Rewind back to 2008, Fabio was praised for his excellent pace and technique in crossing, shooting and passing as well as defending, traits which saw him play as a Defensive Midfielder at the birth of his career before it was considered that Left Back may be his star position. It was in midfield how ever that Fabio captained a Brazil U-17 team that he was considered a shining star in and during a under 17 world cup campaign the young man more acclaimed as a defensive player scored 10 goals in 13 apperances to be the top scorer of the competition. With such obvious attacking talent it could be questioned when we fast forward back to 2013 whether the 22 year old Fabio has a future as the next Winger star of Manchester United.

During his appearances in reserve competitions he has been known to score goals, including a hat trick in a game vs Rochdale and a stunning volley vs Norwich after a bursting run into the box. With Alex Buttner and Evra currently ahead of the Samba star at the left back role, it may be worth a re-styling of play and a definite risk from new Boss Moyes to take advantage of the unstable nature of Manchester Uniteds wingers, Nani looks set to cut his ties with the club during this summer, Valencia having a season well below the high standards found during his first years at the club and the erratic performances from Young who has also been frequently injured during this season and Giggs starting less games, while being more frequently utilised in the central midfield roles. It may be beneficial to Fabio to join the ranks of young Devils looking to break through to the first team on the flanks, its clear from his past that he has the attacking skills to play the role well and given his experience as a full back he will be comfortable in working back and helping his full back dutifully, with some refining work on the attacking front and Fabio could well be the answer to the left midfield question after Giggs is gone, Nani is sold and Young is injured again.

Just a thought :)

Fabio also started a Championes League final, I do believe.

I love that 'Arry deemed him a worse full back than Tal Ben Haim.

But.

He's not very good at crossing the ball, and even worse crossing with his left foot. I also don't believe he's all that rapid. Can't see him being a winger.

Bizarrely, I can see Buttner playing wide left though.

Fabio might actually be a better defender than Rafael, who is pretty pants in that regard, but Rafael is very good going forward and in a top team that outways the defensive side of things (except when up again teams which are on par or are better than you)
Rafael is Utd's Micah.
I like him (tho he can't compete with Meek's infectious laugh, no-one can).

He's actually improved a ridiculous amount in the past 2 seasons at defending. And he's done it against the very best too. Bale has more or less been anonymous when we've played Spurs, and he had completely shut down Madrid's attack until we went a man down. In fact I can think of very few instances when he had a problem at all. Unexpectedly, I think it was against Southampton he had a mare.

If Zabaleta hadn't had such a good season (and scored some high profile goals) Rafael would be the in the team of the year.

It's not going to happen because it makes too much sense, but not since Owen Hargreaves have I seen a player more perfectly suited to fill United's needs than Thiago.

Would slot straight into the first XI, improve us and offer him something different and a guaranteed spot in one of the top 5/6 teams in the world.

But I think he'll stay with Barca and play some of the time. Fabulously talented player. I think he'd bring more to United than if we signed Ronaldo. (which also won't happen)

How about we have David Beckham come back to United and donate all his image rights income to United to fund Ronnie's return?

Regardless of the fun we have with this..I'd be shocked and dismayed if we would not sign at least ONE world beater this transfer season. Midfield, midfield, midfield, midfield, midfield..don't really care much about the rest atm.

Then we will sign Fabregas.. and I will come for you ;)

Cazorla imo is head and shoulders ahead of him. I don`t grave for players to come back. Cesc was bought on Rosell`s pride, he wanted him back from Arsenal`s clutches. Cesc was great when the squad is built for him to shine. Im not sure he fits Messi`s build .

That is the worst use of numbers and letters ever! When has a 2 looked like an I ? At the most it looks like Champzons and that is not a word :PP

 We haven't stopped laughing since last summer.

We'll leave that for now while all focus is on getting Cristiano. ;))

Possibly next summer that one, otherwise we'd probably push Wenger over the edge.

I hope you stop laughing now that the season is over :P, if not carrying on. I think I will be smiling in the next coming weeks :))

You'd be smiling when you see United pay £40m for Fabregas, hes good but more £25m than £40m.. of course if Neymar is worth £35m+ then Fabregas should be £40m, but then Ronaldo should he worth £150m+

Im not sure ,but I know there`s an option in his contract, that Arsenal will receive .5(half) of transfer to another club. So, 20m + 34m(already received) = 54m is good business .

No way do they get half. Will not believe that - totally out of the market norm and common sense.
