Manchester United Thread

Yeah I can see something similar being done with the 'Holy Trinity', I'd like to see Scholes, Giggs and Cantona personally.

All we need is, Shinji Kagawa, Shinji Kagoowa, Shinji Kagawa...

That was unexpectedly comfortable. Norwich tried to ruffles us with 'robust' challenges and we just let them run themselves into the ground. Carrick was an absolute monster, game was firmly in his back pocket.

Bring on Madrid I guess!

Ronaldo and Madrid bang in form :ANX:

And we're not?
Granted, RvP has been off the mark for the last 2 weeks or so and Rooney only bothered to show his brilliance in the 2nd half today (beautiful goal btw) but along with Kagawa finally delivering on his promise just one of those first 2 showing up against Madrid should give us great possibilities. If I had to guess, SAF is probably thrilled with Kagawa's hattrick today as it will likely force Real to more seriously mark him. We already saw flashes of how difficult he is to mark..even for Real in the first leg. His speed and ability to move in tight spaces is amazing. Now that he finally showed he can link up properly with Rooney and RvP's pinpoint passing accuracy (though Rooney was horrible in the first 45 today), I'd say that triple threat is finally coming to fruition.

The folks that keep saying we're reliant on RvP are idiots. No team has as many different scorers and assist providers as we do and I love how we have at least 5 players who can be the key difference for us in a game. In some ways this is the most frustrating yet also most exciting United team in a while. This team will either under or over perform this year in the minds of people..I don't think there is much of a grey area this season.

With regards to today's game; I guess now I know how Bayern and Neuer must feel at times. This is the only game this season where our opponent didn't appear to have even a sliver of hope... Not sure if I can put that on our dominance or Norwich's extremely poor showing. De Gea could have pulled up a lounge chair for most of the game.

Small matter of some Spanish team coming to OT tomorrow night. Might try to make time to watch some of it.

My prediction:
---------------De Gea-------------
--Rafael-----Rio----Evans--Evra---
---------Carrick---Cleverley------
--------------Rooney--------------
----Nani-------------Welbz--------
----------------RVP---------------

1-3 on the night, 2-4 on aggregate. Ronnie to score twice, we grab one back and get caught late on the counter.

Then we can get back to winning our trophy.

NO ROONEY?!?!?!?

--------------De Gea--------------
-Rafael---Rio-----Vidic----Evra---
--------Carrick---Cleverley-------
---Nani--------Giggs------Welbz---
----------------RVP---------------

Massive call from the boss...can't say I agree with it. Rooney is probably our most consistent big game player, and putting in Giggs for him... for his 1,000th game...

Man almost sounds like a marketing decision. Batsh*t crazy imo.

Dunno who I want to win this.

Just hope the actual game is entertaining. Got a feeling that it's going to be dire with both teams sitting back for most of it.

Rooney must be injured. Not even in the squad

No he's on the bench.

Must be tactical, but I literally can't think of a single attribute (except age) that a 39 year old Giggs has over Rooney at the moment.

Seems far too sentimental from SAF to start Giggsy but who knows, Rooney was terrible in the first leg (albeit played out of position), wonder if that had anything to do with it.

SAF has brass bollocks though.

I think at this stage Ferige is just f*cking with us.

I blew an absolute gasket when I saw the out of form, unfit, useless for 18 months Ji Sung Park was starting in our most important game of the season at the Etihad last year. Everyone said have faith in Fergie. He's not infallible, but you're right his brass bollocks are certainly there and he'll take the criticism if/when we lose.

Shocking prediction: Giggs to misplay a penetrating pass enabling Madrid to country and score. Twice. In 30 minutes.

Rumour round Twitter than Rooney was at a gig last night and broke curfew, hence he's being punished.

Punishing him like this didn't work against Blackburn last season, let alone Real fucking Madrid.

No Evans, that I find far more shocking than no Rooney considering their respective form.

But I'm sure Fergie has his reasons, let's hope he's right.

Good to see Nani starting a big game again too.

We've been excellent so far. Might not win, but this is the United that we haven't seen in a few seasons in the CL. Brave, talented and attacking.

Fuck yeah..I'm glad its that prick of a Ramos that put that in. Verano..I would ve actually felt slightly bad for..we need a second goal tho before I can relax. Crowd is awesome today.

A red card? For fkin that? FM I hate Ramos so much, going over there crying like a bitch again. That is the most undeserved red card I have ever seen. And I would e said the same if it d be a card against pool or city. Ridiculous.
