Not a chance in hell.

He'll keep on going till he can't anymore, he realised he had made a mistake when he was preparing to retire before and he won't make it again.

Besides, this team is on the verge of another transition with VDS, Scholes, Giggs all retiring in the near future and he'll want to see the job through.

One more pillar to knock down on our friends from down the road.

If he wins the CL, then he'll equal the great Bob Paisley's record of three wins for one manager BUT we'll still be a cup behind Liverpool and effectively equal with them. (19-4 v 18-5).

He won't go until he's at least got level I don't think (unless his health/desire fails him first).

I don't think our Liverpool friends will like this, but its Ferguson's personal goal to make Manchester United the best team in all aspects in the history of England. So now that he's overtaken them in the league, it will be CL next. Maybe after that he'll retire...or he'll feel that its another transition and want to keep on going...

I just don't see him retiring at all...haha

I don't think Fergie is that obsessed with over turning any records per se, I just think he wants to win. Every morning of every day when he wakes up he wants to win at whatever it is he does that day.

He'll retire if he becomes ill. I genuinely don't think he'll go before then. He's a freak of nature.

No way will United win another 2 European Cups under Fergie. The guy is almost 70 so I just can't see it happening.

I don't think it's Fergie's age that's the biggest obstacle preventing that. Rather the titanic force that is Guardiola's Barca. Plus Real are ever improving so we might see the Spanish dominate the CL over the next few years.

But hey, stranger things have happened.

Yeah but so are we, we've got a great foundation at the minute to challenge Real and Barcelona but yeah those two could really make the CL like La Liga if they continue to improve.

Really can't wait now, feeling very relaxed about the game, and that's because we're underdogs and it's not often we've been able to say that lately.

Guardiola may not be at Barca in a few years, so they may falter.

Na Their blueprint for success is in place I don't see this Barcelona team start to faltering until Xavi and Puyol both retire and even then I can see them being the team to beat.

Well, finally the day. Can't say I've got a lot of faith, in a way I just want us to play in a way we can proud of. I know no matter what happens if we lose large swathes of the media will continue to label us as weak and unworthy champions but hey, only 1 other team got this far and they're not too bad.

Either way it's been a wonderful, unexpected season. So any bonus at this point is just that.

Prediction: 3-0 to Barca, but us having a right go at it, and conceding two late ones.

i think it will be tight match, i expect united to want to attack from start immediately..

i predict a draw 1:1 in 90 minutes.

The weird thing about Barca is that I think the plan to beat them is straightforward: don't concede before the 65th minute or so, when they visibly tire, and then try to nick one at the end.

Problem being almost no one can actually manage that.

Also, their pressing style will hurt us more than it does most teams, because of the lack of composure in the midfield. Carrick is actually a very good footballer, but when constricted he panics more than most.

While Park will play and obviously offers us energy and an outlet, I worry that his poor touch will lead to the ball bouncing away from him 9/10 times, and in a match like this where we'll so little posession, that actually worries me.

I know Fergie won't do it, but for that reason I'd consider starting Berbatov, just to provide an outlet. While his goal scoring is rightly questioned, he's also one of the classiest possession keepers in the game, and we're seriously going to need that.

I have nightmares of us just getting it and hoofing it into the channels, with the hope that the pace of Hernandez and Valencia can manage something.

So today is the day. I hope we see a good football match. I think the chances are very even, a lot more than what people thinks here. I don't see any team winning easily, I expect a very tight game that will be decided in very small details. The team who makes his style work will have an edge.

But still, both teams are just great, the best of Europe right now. The good thing is both teams already have the domestic trophy, so part of the pressure of winning the title is out and they can focus in playing better to win.

I really wish you a lot of luck, guys, enjoy the match!

How can you not have a lot of faith?! Cmon man we support Manchester United, ask most fans and they'll tell you we either bribe the FA OR we never know when to give up and you'd have to be mad to right us off :))

No way in hell is Berba gonna start.

I've not no nerves at the minute but then that's simply because I'm sure we'll get battered.

Horrible thing to say as a fan, but at least I'm usually always wrong about United. Was convinced we were gonna win in 2009 and we lost after a poor performance. Hopefully it's the other way around this time.

Yeah, in 2009 I really thought Ronaldo was gonna put in a major showing and win for it us. I also don't think that Barca team is as good as this one.

Am in exactly the same spot. Not nervous because I don't see us having much of a shot.

Lots of twitter rumours that Fergie is doing something 'that will make you gasp' with the team. Who knows what that is though!

Anyone else think utd will go for the kill and try to score two in the first 15min. A bit like Liverpool against Real a couple of seasons ago. Just try and completely blow Barca away with speed and power and a full out attack? We know Barca need 4 or 5 chances before they put one away so it might be an interesting tactic to try out.

Or it could just be very clever media tactics making Barca unsure what to expect (defensive or very attacking?) and just have that little edge because of it.

Think it's a logical choice, for a player coming off the bench likely late in the game you want a poacher with speed imo.

Yeah, just saying to a mate, if there was one chance left in the match and Owen or Berba had it, I know who I'd back.

Interesting that Fabio is starting, with no O'Shea on the bench. I'm pretty sure Fabio has only manged like 3 full 90's for us. Scary.
