Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

god u lot played like sam's old bolton fighting to stay in the league. and city are meant to compete for the title :LMAO:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Nice to see Rio getting some praise in the press for once. He was brilliant again yesterday and usually even when he is, Vidic takes all the praise. Evans was good too.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sunday's probably going to be our toughest game of the season so far, Shows how far Spurs have come really.

Also Rafael is potentially God MK2

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I will have my eyes glued to that battle between Rafa and Bale...Evra vs Lennon will be interesting too...Its gonna be one hell of a game.I am pretty sure we will play 3 in the middle of the park.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

In all seriousness, f*ck off Mike Dean. It's still 0-0 as I type this, but he's just sent off Rafael for trying to get back into position and accidentally clipping the ankles of BAE. That is ludicrous and may well decide what has been a very even match.

However, whereas the two-footed Gerrard tackle generated nonstop accusation of bias, stupid refs and so forth, not a word will be said about the card-happy Dean.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

 Spurs were due some luck against us. Rio and Vidic were outstanding again but there were too many poor performances further up the pitch.

A point's not a bad result and for all the hype, Spurs weren't all that. We've had far worse away performances this season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bitter much?

(and what did Rafael ever do to a Liverpool player?)

Hey, I wasn't the one to bring up Liverpool when discussing Tottenham v Man Utd

Rafael did a two-footed tackle on Meireles, nothing given.

Karma.

Incidently, I guess you don't think that Rooney deserved a second yellow for dissent when he didn't get a decision by the side of the pitch and mouthed all kinds off at Mike Dean? He was booked for less of a rant about Rafael's sending off. Could/should've been sent off there.

Anyway, I don't expect you to agree with me so whatever.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ay, I'll take the point but Rafael shouldn't have been sent off.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I've noticed in quite a few games that whenever Bale goes down, whether fouled or not he nearly always gets a freekick and often a booking for the opposition player. Didn't see the incident, but I started to notice it in other games this season.

I guess it's the fact he is big, fast and strong makes the ref's think it's always a foul, even if the player gets the ball before the man.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We were fooking shite today, will the real Darren Fletcher please stand up.
Rafael was outstanding , the sending off was farcical, a bit like the dippers claiming it was karma.

Rafael should have been sent off in the first half for asking for a card for Palacios, if you want my honest opinion.

Not for a nothing trip, or for some falsely created 'two footed lunge' myth from the Liverpool game. Defenders make those challenges in every single match, he left the ground by about an inch against Meireles, was in total control AND got all ball and none of the man. Apples and oranges. There wasn't even a replay of it until Gerrard got sent off.

I just really get the feeling that Mike Dean was picked on by the kids at school, and so now he always favours the home team to feel popular. He does it at Old Trafford too.

never thought I see someone say that :))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Am I the only one a little surprised that we're not being linked to anyone at all this transfer period? I swear Fergie mentioned we had one target - it's not like the English press not to make random crap up.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think they've got the message really, Also with the G & G campaign being more "public" with the average joe we can't afford anyone is common thinking.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well we had that new keeper that just joined us, so we didnt exactly get no one.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Now that ginger lad in midfield is back, he will be like a new signing too!

Indeed, for about 50 minutes of a match ;)

Will be interesting to see how the FA punish Rafael. This is clearly all coming about because of the broad sheets having the words 'FA', 'Bias', 'United' all over them after the Liverpool match. So congrats to the media for influencing the games and all that. Babel was charged w/ improper conduct and given a £10k fine. Therefore my guess is that Rafael will be given a three game ban. Because yelling at a referee who just f*cked up in the heat of the moment is far less understandable than blatantly insinuating that a referee is corrupt and therefore unfit to perform his job.

Given that Mike Dean chose not to report John Terry for improper conduct when he actually took a red card out of Dean's hand last year, I have to assume that Mr. Dean might just have something against our young Brazilian.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Shame Valencia won't be back for another month or two. we could really use his pace and power on the right at times.

It's really going to make or break our season imo. If he comes back as before he left, I think we'll sneak the title. If he doesn't, I think we'll run out of steam tbh.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that we've got £36m worth of first XI players that have barely kicked a ball this season.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

To be honest without getting to ahead of myself I think the title is ours to lose now and Valencia returning or not shouldn't change that, our competition isn't that strong.

I'll be shocked if we win the title. We've been consistently mediocre this season, and scraped results. I've seen nothing (blackburn aside) to indicate that we're going to get any better, whereas Arsenal, City and Chelsea all clearly have another gear they can get to.

Sadly I can see us having a pretty poor second half of the season. Fingers crossed I'm wrong, but I've started mentally preparing now for a potential City title

Re: The Rafael two footer - If somebody jumped in like that against you on a football pitch you wouldn't say anything about it? Load of bollocks if you say no!

Anyway, he's an annoying little fucker who is constantly doing little fouls so I can't wait for somebody to stick him up in the air good and proper! :)
