Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I feel for Evans. This is the guy who made Drogba his bitch and played exceptionally well in Europe against the likes of Inter at the San Siro but is now making mistakes a kid wouldn't make and costing us goal after goal every time he plays. We'd be better off playing Fergie at centre half rather than him at the minute. He admitted that he'd lost his place due to poor form and that he needs to work hard and improve which shows maturity but his confidence looks totally shot and he's a shadow of his former self. Time is on his side with him only being 22 but he'll need to sort his head out soon or I can see Fergie sending him on his way. Such a shame as he looked like he was a couple of years away from being a genuinely world class centreback.

O'Shea is just O'Shea. None of the goals last night were his fault, he puts in a shift every time and his versatility is vital over the course of a season. The problem is he can't pass and doesn't seem to contribute going forward as much as he used to so he's an easy scapegoat when we don't win. That shot he had yesterday was hilarious, I did that in a match once when I was about 12 and it was proper fucking embarrassing, can't imagine how he felt playing for one of the biggest clubs in the worlds with millions watching.

I thought West Ham were pretty heavy in the tackle and there were a few that went too far, Boa Morte's unpunished foul on Fabio was pretty disgusting to be honest but hard tackling is no excuse for a defeat. We usually just hit back twice as hard and the reason we lost is more the fact we showed no fight ourselves rather than them kicking us off the ball.

Anyway, I do like the Carling Cup but I can't pretend I'm not glad it's that we're out of and not the CL and it's also better that we got thumped in the cup rather than the league.

Hopefully that will be a kick up the arse for a few of the fringe players and a bit of a wake up call.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah pretty much, lack of fight and with some I think it seems a problem, Fabio seems as talented as Rafael but the difference looks to be Rafael has that grit and willingness to get into players faces unlike Fabio.

Obertan seems to have no courage about him which if im honest think will be a problem you just can't fix. Evans is just playing rubbish, he'll be fine long term.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We've signed Anders Lindegaard too...Edwin can sort out his retirement package now.

This signing should be a big win for Ferguson, Manchester and all ManU fans. I saw some videos on YouTube, and there is possible to mark that Lindegaard have really good reflekses and he is very powerful keeper. Also, he is very brave! He goes in shot without fear...

I wish him all the best! I hope that he'll make big things for ManU just like a Schmeichel!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Strange game, extremely open I thought and would have been great for a neutral. Rooney and Anderson both had very good games, I think Anderson needs to work on his positioning but other than that he was brilliant.

Hopefully Rio can be back for Monday.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Would probably have been better to play Hernandez over Berba last night.

Less chance of the knock in confidence that might have happened after all those chances, and Chicharito looked properly pissed off at being on the bench, plus he'd already scored against Valencia and would've had a field day with their defence being the way it was.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

so with the group stage games over, here are the teams that we may face: Inter, Milan, Lyon, København, Roma, and Marseille.

Which team do you think we'd get?? I guess with our luck, it'll most likely be one of the Italian teams...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Would prefer to avoid both Milan sides but fine with the rest.

Think the reason was so Rooney and Berbatov need minutes as a partnership, Berbatov missed a lot of chances but both Wayne and Berba created enough for eachother to be pleased.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought as a pairing they were great. Fine - Berba's finishing was off/ the keeper guessed right a few times - but the interplay was mouth-watering.

It's kind of unfortunate, but due to the current fixtures I can't see Chica getting many games until the xmas crunch :(

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Did you just call him 'chica' Ryan? :P

I know people said he looks like a 'woman' but poor guy would really be heartbroken was he reading this lol.

He and Nasri would make a lovely butch lesbian couple :)

Sorry if that's overly offensive to anyone...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Nasri thinks he's a ladies man and given his ego I think he'd be massively offended but he's about the only one. :P Lol

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

How Samir considers himself a ladies man with a face like that I'll never know.

Least he's got plenty of money to afford the paper bags he'd need to put over his head for the ladies.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can't wait for tonight's game, Think we'll go 4-3-3. Need to get Nani running at Clichy ASAP and hopefully keep an eye on Nasri at the other end.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can only see us 4-3-3 if Rooney plays wide left, would be surprised if he dropped Berbatov to be honest and games like this are made for Park so maybe we'll go 4-4-2 / 4-3-3 with Park, Scholes and Carrick in the middle and Nani high and wide behind Berb and Rooney.

Leaving in an hour, can't wait!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Great result against an Arsenal team that didnt really offer anything going forward

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It's all looking a bit too positive this. Somethings not right so here goes...

We'll lose 11-0 against Chelsea. The entire back line will get sent off for a vicious gang attack on John Terry at a corner in which they immediately get sent to jail for the remainder of the season and Jonny Evans will have to come on, resulting in such a high scoreline against us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

:DD Great result, grinding out the 1-0 in these games are very important. I thought we actually didn't play that well apart from the back four who were excellent when needed to be (Arsenal didn't offer much).

I'd take a point at Stamford Bridge right now if I could. would be massive psychologically to be top at Christmas.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Scrappy win. Was a congested midfield battle without Berbatov and RvP (for an hour) but these are the sort of wins you need to grind out to win the title.

Well I was half right! :D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If we win on Sunday and Chelsea and Arsenal draw were cruising. Obviously ive just jinxed it but still

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

How about a deal to sign David Beckham on loan? I mean we are losing Park Ji Sung for 6 matches,Owen Hargreaves is done...we could use Golden Balls in the middle or out wide.He has publicly mentioned that he will only choose us if he wishes to return to england for a loan spell,he isnt cup tied for champions league...he would be perfect for us.What do you lot think?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ive been up for that for years. I dont think Sir Alex is.
Would be quite an emotional moment if I ever saw him in our shirt again though.

Its probably the only thing that would make me change my avatar.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I don't think SAF has any problems with Becks now, they settled that a while back so the only thing that needs to be considered is what would he bring? He can't play outwide for us IMO, our wingplay requires assets completely different to his.

The only role I could see him playing is a deep playmaker like Scholes but then im not sure how good he would be at it, he hasn't had much game time and this is forgetting how long its been since hes played at Premiership pace.

I don't think it'll happen as it doesn't make sense football wise unfortunately.
