Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It was a sweet goal from Macheda yesterday. I reckon he'll be a great player for us in the next 3 to 4 years. He'll probably be our 5th choice striker this season.

Until Owen gets injured that is.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Its to difficult to predict were any player will be in 3 years time as new signings and bad form can change so things quickly.

Looking forward to seeing Bebe tomorrow. no doubt he'll be either World Class or or crap by the end of the match one way or another :))

Here's a great article on his story.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I was reading yesterday he's really impressing in training for Portugal, where he probably feels a bit more comfortable at the moment. Apparently he was applauded at the end by teammates and coaches after he scored a hattrick in a training match including one where he got knocked down in the area and whilst still sat on the floor with his back to goal he flicked it up and hooked over his head into the top corner!

I really hope he turns out alright and proves people wrong. I'm not expecting a Ronaldo mk2 but from what i've seen and heard i think he's got the ability to be a pretty decent player.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I do believe if you head over to one of the many p2p sites (not that I'd ever advocate such things) you'll be able to see the Portugal v England U21 match, as it is indeed on in Portugal. I'll be at work, so any updates would be wonderful :)

That Daily Heil article is really interesting. This much be such a gargantuan system shock, I have no idea how he could possibly cope. It's definitely a binary thing imo - either he makes it or completely flops. No 'okay professional' outcome here.

Tbh I'm not that fussed about him this year. Money aside, we have Obertan who should be much more in the frame for first team action this year.

As to Macheda...I fear he's going to need to leave. Clearly better than the reserves, or worse, believes he is, because he does the sweet sum of f*ck all until he scores. Then he struts around and returns to anonymity. He needs to be playing every week in a first team somewhere, but Fergie was worried about his attitude to wasn't comfortable loaning him out.

I just wish we'd stop playing Michael Owen ahead of Hernandez and Macheda. Not that I have something against lil Mickey, but the bottom line is that he won't be here in 2 years, whereas those two needing blooding.

So far this season I've been pretty dissapointed by how little action our 'newbies' are getting after all Fergie's chat in the off-season. With CL midweek wedged between Everton and Liverpool (thank you scheduling calendar) we'll have to start rotating, and I'm definitely worried about what that means for the centre of the park...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That's what I read about Bebe, not sure if it's 100% accurate but it could be!

I will do updates for you Ryan, I'm watching the river if you catch my drift. ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Alright I missed the first half and so far the second half has been really hard to watch and nothing much has happened.

Bebe was playing upfront on his own and was isolated and getting no service. Now he's moved wide and is doing a little bit better.

EDIT: As I wrote that Bebe burst down the right wing, skinned Mancienne, turned him inside out, got inside the area and had a powerful shot parried away by Fielding. RAPID.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Updates
Rises to meet a corner but his header hits someone on the way through and bounces to safety.

Shortly after wins another corner with some persistance and a cross hitting the defender.

Clash of heads between Mancienne and a Portuguese forward. Blood everywhere. Mainly in Manciennes mouth.

Chests the ball up and attempts a Rivaldo styleee biycle kick. Kicks defender in the head.

Some nice support play by the Bebster™ and his team mate hooks towards the top corner but Fielding does well to save.

Henderson puts it on a plate for Sturridge who somehow puts it over. In the first half he scored the only goal so far by the way, set up from a beautiful through ball by Cleverley. Nice finish too.

Shocking miss. Cleverley races clear, turns the defender and plays a lovely square ball inside the other defender for Delfouneso, who rounds the keeper in style and slices over from 2 yards.

Think it's finished, it's showing Belarus v France now.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sounds pretty good, Seems the generic youngster performance. Got no service playing a extremely difficult role (Lone Striker) but improved when played in a more suitable position and got the chance to run at players.

Tried looking for some Highlights but could only find that run Jumbo mentioned

YouTube - Bebe Solo Run vs England U21
RAPID indeed

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bebe, Mame and Nani, I wonder if Utd are gonna get Pepe to complete the family!

I still can't get my head round this.

what should Liverpool fans think then seing their once beloved player in United shirt? he did nothing for you, but won Golden ball with us...that is a bit different...

Owen was the first player i looked up to starting following football..he made me support Liverpool when he came to first team and make his breaktrough...belive me seing him in United shirt is MORE wors for Liverpool fans than for United seing him in this match....

edit: and imo he still looks more better in our red :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The prostitute he's supposed to have slept with.

If it's true, you would've thought he'dve known better by now, but alas, he's just an idiot.

Just needs to get his head down and concentrate on reaching his best form on the pitch, all he can do.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The media reception to this is going to be very interesting.I don't think it will be blown out of proportion like that other case.

As bad as what Rooney has done, there are far bigger footballing implications attached to shagging the wife of your best friend and team mate for club and country, which is why so much was made of that.

Take your tinfoil hat off.

Bullshit.

What about Cole then?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Bullshit.

What about Cole then?

How is it bullshit? Why else then? Some vendetta against Chelsea I suppose? That's the only reason I was bothered about it.

I didn't and don't really care about Ashley Cole cheating on Cheryl. She's 'the nation's sweetheart' and people already hated him from when his book came out, so that's why a big deal was made of that. I think he's a class footballer, I don't care what he does with his dick as long as it doesn't effect how he plays for England.

Footballer's cheating on their wives is nothing new is it? A big deal was made of Beckham and Rebecca Loos at the time, certain players and certain situations are bound to attract more attention than other cases.

I can't stand the celebrity obsessed culture we have in this country and I stay away from it as much as I possibly can but like I said, I was pissed at the Terry thing because it affected football.

So stick your bullshit up your arse. ;))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Keep the language around here a lot cleaner guys.

Nothing wrong with discussing these issues, but needs to be without the filthy expletives.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Keep your messages reasonable and respectable - don't insult or attack other forum members or deliberately post messages that will offend other users. We allow swearing but in moderation - excessive swearing will count as offensive posting.

The topic was already in the gutter and the bad language was being quoted by one person after another.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think it was refered to football players, so they were deleted because they could have offended Chelsea supporters? or was it just that one swear word that is more offensive to others?

I just want to clarify so I don't break the rules. Because the 'Bullshit' comment is still there and that was more offensive to someone actually on the forums, because it was directed at one of their posts?

I'm a little confused.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah I got accused of bullshit, so I told him to stick it up his arse but I winked so it's ok.. I think?
