think the point is to sell an england international cos we have a young unproven player only to retract it the next week is pretty nonsensical no?
anywho,awful performance,shit atmosphere but great result.i shudder to think what the outcome of a couple of our games would have been if we hadnt signed el pistolero....

Yep, think it would be between him and Hernandez for signing of the season. If Utd win the league I would say Hernandez, otherwise Luis get's it.

That's a litle bit early to call Luis best signing after a half season...and talking about half a season, Luiz is doing very well for Chelsea too...

But to be fair i think Hernandez is te signing of the season, he scored 12 goals with 18 shots on goal...this is a fantastic ratio...

He has had a huge impact for Liverpool Gerd, and has taken them (not single handedly, but pretty close) from mid-table to top5. I think he has been part of atleast half the goals scored by Liverpool since he signed.

Luiz is another, although he has had some shakey moments aswell (conceding a silly penalty for example). Tbh I don't really care about "signing of the season" awards, but I think he has been one of the most influental during his time at the club.

I think it is beyond doubt that Suarez is a great signing for Liverpool...got to admit that it was a litle bit silly to reply about a very subjective thing like "signing of the season"...i'm sorry.

As a Spurs fan i feel that the ref did not help us against Chelsea...but on the other hand i think Chelsea deserved the win and Spurs need a reliable goal keeper...Gomes has great safes, but he's not reliable.

I think PIPA makes a good point. Liverpool would be well shot of Johnson who rarely performs every week and is suspect defensively.

Gerd stop blaming the referee and linesman.

Blame the players who try and con the officials all the time and Bloater and Pratini who refuse to implement technology to help the officials.

I did not blame the referee and the lines men...Spurs were lucky because Chelsea should have got a penalty, but the first Chelsea goal (ball did not cross the line) and the second one (off-side) should not have been allowed. But like i said: Chelsea deserved the win.

You can't blame the lines men for the first goal, if you only see that the ball has not crossed the line after at least 5 slow motions...then you certainly can't blame the officials.

The objective fact is however that both Chelsea goals should have been disallowed...

Like i said in the Spurs thread: Spurs don't deserve to be in the CL (and it is debatable if a place in the Euro League would be a good thing).

I was thinking about the EL, do you think City would rather have Spurs in there then Liverpool? I was expecting City to beat Spurs at first, but they are getting clear now and shouldn't have much pressure for that match (with the FA cup coming up after it).

The way the season has gone, the sounds coming out of both clubs, Liverpool looking to drastically overhaul the squad with youthfull talent whilst from Spurs we are hearing that the books will need to be balanced if CL is not retained you could speculate that Liverpool would be the more dangerous rival for the 4th spot next season.

So City could easily throw that match (Mancini seems very tactical and calculated to me). Hope not, but wouldn't be surprised. Ofcourse, Liverpool just have to equal Spurs' results for the other 2 matches and beat them at home and they will claim 5th.

Also think it will be a good way to test out Kenny's European tactics.

To even compare what Suarez with Chicharito is nonsence...that boy will most probably be the decisive factor for any of United trophys this season... as Liverpool supporter i think there is no question about that Hernandez is best signing of this season..

Kelly can be next England RB as well...he already made Kenny move Johnson on LB while he was fit...

but i realy don´t want him to move out after yesterday..and United also have their Oshea on bench...becouse that´s where Johnson will be if Kelly continues perfect performances and we buy new LB and CB... only if they don´t plan to make a CB out of Kelly to replace Carra long term..

O'Shea can play various Positions though, All across the back and Central Midfield if needed. Johnson should either be first choice or sold.

Well i was thinking about OShea being mainly substitute player for United in defence, while being starter for Ireland NT.. but it would be interesting to see how Johnson cope with Kelly + if we buy a new LB that will start.. I think we maybe convert Kelly to CB slowly...even if he is great at RB..

25 Man squads make things like that difficult, SAF philosophy of not really having a "first choice team" bar 4-5 and having 17-18 players who can be rotated over a season with the rest being the youth seems the best policy. You need utility players now more than ever.

Johnson is not goint to be in the bench. If Kenny cant guarantee him to be a starter he is going to want a move out. Plus, we also arent going to sit a player that cost 17M and earns 70-80k per week.
I keep finding amazing how some people think that we should sell an international player because a youngster shows some potential. It is incredible, and is even more incredible when you think that that youngster isnt even a RB.

mate and i find amazing how some people would play someone despite having someone in team who is better on that position...

should we keep Kelly on bench then? i think rotating them is good idea..but we need stabile back 4, and for me Johnson is not as good as Kelly in some way´s.. Kelly has not made any mistake on RB so why should we not play him there in future?

i won´t even start comparing Kelly´s and Johnson´s salary´s..

btw, Kelly is no youngster anymore, youngsters are players imo untill their 20s but in today´s football you have some players that are established starters in their 21 - 22 years...

look at Wilshere for example, would Venger play Arshavin over him just becouse Wilshere is young? i don´t think so.. Arshavin is probably on his way out soon and Wilshere could be next big thing for England..

I said what i think already, no need to explain more..hope we will not sell him, but if Kelly playes on RB as good as so far..he won´t sit on bench..if our new owners can afford Johnson, i have no problem with him in our team, i think he is great player..

Hopefully, Juve trying to play hardball and I think we'd gladly have him back rather than let him go on the cheap. He's probably worth more than the £16m anyway judging by reports that he's been one of Serie A's best players this season?

I imagine he'd fit right in. Our movement and attacking intent would suit him as he'll always have an option to spray the ball out to.

well one thing is certain, we lack quality midfield players like him and in the same time, we are not (at least i hope) desperate to sell him under his prize..

How old is he? 26? That's another 3, 4 years till he reaches his prime. But then you don't know how the rating/risk goes with his injuries, with regards to how FSG think him as an asset and whether he's worth selling.
