Yeah that's what is pissing everybody off, just hand the request in at the beginning of the month. Feels like he is backstabbing the club with the transfer request so near to the end.

He doesn't dare to face the fans by declaring early, now he has the chance to leave without saying Goodbye to Anfield, if he does leave this way than f*ck him.

The only comments I've seen are that they either don't think he's worth having and not really interested, or are happy for the main reason that it'll piss us off to see him playing for Chelsea. Not seen any Chelsea fans pleased with it so far.

Have to say guys I'm pleased with Konchesky on loan. Hopefully he'll help us get back to top flight football where we belong.

I was going to make some Konchesky joke then, but y'know, he was okay for Fulham and Premiership experience could count so he may do well.

I think he's perfect for this level, and we are in desperate need of a LB after Bertrand went back to the Chels.

In fact, with our record of signings in January, I'm glad we've signed anyone half-decent.

you are right but he was the one who played nothing the whole season + requested transfer so late..

Btw i think you dont watch many Blackpool matches to call Charlie Adams medicore...also is Suarez British? Even if we buy Mozambique players, if they fight for the shirt and wear with pride and Kenny wont buy players without skill and team players...why do you fear? It can´t be worse with us than 4 months ago for example..

If Kenny want him, i trust his decision..100%

Offered like that, I'd take that. But then that's on the assumption that we'd paid £30m for Suarez and £20m for Carroll. But no way is Carroll worth £30m yet. He's undoubtedly got talent and a ton of potential but it's a big risk to pay so much for that potential.

And Newcastle are willing to sell for £35m ... crazy!

Tbh I always found his comments very "clever" for a footballer. Talking about the fans giving him wings when they cheer and all that. Always hoped he was just an intelligent sincere guy, but the cynic in me always had a slight nagging feeling that it was more good marketing.

Bloody hell, Carroll at £30m! Newcastle should take the money and run. I rate him and think he'll get a fair bit better but he's not a 'top 5' in the world player, and thats a top 5 in the world price!

again mate you dont understand that sometimes the best fooballers are not the most popular..in this days money are first place and so i think Newcastle are not stupid..Caroll for them is like Torres for us, besides he is english and young... and soon to be national striker permanently..

he is the main shirt selling player and rolemodel...they build the team for him so the prize is not that high...if he was a player of team where they have 5 other good young players, let´s say, arsenal...he would cost less...+ if he was from Uzbekistan, he would definetly be for around 15 mil. not more :D

Is it worth spending so much now? Wondering who you could get in the summer for 30mil. Prices might go down with the new rules aswell. And it's not like he is a model professional either.

He's actually Roy's perfect player... :(

I'd be happy with Carroll, he'd be a very good partner for Suarez as they're both different in style and can complement each other.

£35m is crazy, but it's just numbers isn't it. FSG could have billions, none of us know how rich they are. So while we're saying it's too much, to them it could be pennies.

35 for Caroll is not that much crazy..it´s true walue of what money and points from Carroll goals Newcastle are in need to replace if they sell him...they rely on him as we relied on Torres in his best form.... i would take the risk only if Kenny want him...he is tall, could be a great alternative for Suarez to play with... skill + strenght... I trust Kenny with the players he pick... i would lie if i say i would not welcome Carroll here..but it´s highly not posible we will get him few hours to end of transfer window..

Link on either The Times or Guardian website, can't remember which. Also confirmed by numerous journalists that £35m bid has been made but no confirmation that NUFC have accepted. But then that's what they asked for earlier so it's pretty much accepted regardless.

Yep, but Carroll has only just turned 22 and has resale value whereas Villa was 28 I think?

Suddenly our midfield and attack is looking a lot more solid, and for the first time in years.

Andy Reid has signed for Blackpool, which should make way for Adam to sign for Liverpool.

Really would want the other 15-20mil to go to Young as we need a fast winger. However, could be a good transfer window, Torres out and 3 new players in.

Would VERY much like to see Ashley Young here. Would be great for getting crosses in as well, something we've lacked from the wings.

This could be shaping up to be an immense transfer window.
