Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Good stuff about the training. Sounds like a good combination, the players get an "arm around the shoulder" from someone they probably respect the most and trust completely and they have proper training methods to play football from someone they probably trust due to the success at Chelsea.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Yeah - Steve Clarke's always been rated by everyone in football. Possibly a more important signing than Daglish in the long term.

Agree that Adam will be a good signing, though I'm not sure how 'top 4' class he is. From the matches I've seen he's not all that mobile, nor great at defending so I do think you'll need a 'shield' that enables him to orchestrate.

If you could hurry up and sign him before Tuesday that'd be great :)

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Good win by Liverpool, Meireles was superb (even apart from his lovely goal).
Adam is fantastic for Blackpool, but i have a feeling he would be a bad transfer for Liverpool.

In this thread i've often been critical of Man Utd, but their 3th and 4th goal were vintage, fantastic...if they continue to pass the ball like that, they will end the season with a 15 point bonus...on the other hand, Birmingham are definitely the worst team of the division. Teams
like West Ham or Wolves try to play good football.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Charlie Adam has submitted a transfer request in order to get his move pushed through to Liverpool.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Yep, they're not doing the Sky Sports programme for tonight's match because of it. Idiots, and not the first time they've messed up.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Liverpool are negotiating with Ajax in holland ....
reports say they want 25m....
let's see..

Adam...well he seems good....and at 25 has 6-7 years of peak form
so he will be good.....but not as good as Alonso.

Fulham game will be tough....they are in good form...and Dempsey
is in fine form. But if we attack them with quick passing
then I hope we will win and keep the confidence going

The thing that annoy's me about the sky comments were that it wasn't even offside!

Sums up the level of punditry and why it's pointless.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Gray and Keys are cock-ends of the highest order. I can't stand them and their uninformed 'insight'. I hope Sky sack the pair of them and bring in some higher quality pundits and presenters. The fact that James Richardson hasn't presented live football for many years is a criminal waste of talent when the shaved monkey that is Richard Keys has held the number one job at Sky Sports for 20 years.

However Dalglish gets even more respect from me for this:

I think it was before the game that they were talking, not after. They are thick as shit and should probably be sacked (if Ron Atkinson got sacked for calling one black man a n****r then surely these two should be sacked for saying all women should stay out of football) but they won't, as they're Sky Sports's figureheads.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Babel's agreed to join Hoffenheim. Kinda sad to see him go knowing we didn't see the best of him but he's only got himself to blame really. Hope he manages to sort his head out and fulfil the potential he has.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

What a pair of idiots. I completly agree wit UJ's comment, this is worse than what Atkinson did (on top of that, loads of black players are adamant that Atkinson is far from a racist).

I hope Sky sack these male chauvinist pigs...but then again...they are working for Sky (for who was Atkinson working, was it the BBC?). I generally don't like English pundits, they take themselves far too serious. I saw Seedorf on the BBC he was the exception, much of his commentary was tongue in cheek.
The Dutch have a couple of great pundits, father and son Mulder (Jan and ??? i don't remember his son's name). The son played for Twente and Schalke, the father played for Anderlecht and Ajax. Both played a few matches for the national teams. On top of that Jan Mulder is one of the best writers in our language...if you compare them with Shearer and other English pundits...they seam like Rolls Royces against Lada's...

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Would be great if James Richardson benefitted from this incident and was back regularly on our TVs. Highly unlikely though.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

@ Gerd,

Youri...

And I think everyone loved Seedorf on MoTD during the WC. Actually had footballing insight, a smile and some humor and generelly spoke better English then the others. I remember a segment where he analysed why team x couldn't get the ball and how player positioning was wrong. Very insightfull, that got followed with a pearl of wisdom from Shearer along the lines of "Can't defend like that" and nothing more. Really can't stand them.

Good to see Babel move, some extra money and he can hopefully go and do well somewhere else.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

There is no reason to keep this two clowns where they are now, Football is improving, it´s sport for all - men and woman, its worlds most popular sport and this comments are very biased. For example the linesman in our last match did amazing not calling it offside, where i had doubts first time not seeing it from her angle... and i consider myself knowing the ofside rule of course :) so i would ask both to appologize and then just tell them to find new job.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

using something from the past after getting a warning seems wrong
... that is a typical work place aving a go . Women usually come back and humiliated the guy in a banter way.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Bloody hell, we made work of that didn't we?!

Good first half and a goal disallowed incorrectly for Torres, good save for the Meireles header and Fulham should've got a goal. But our play was very good if maybe a little too laboured.

We didn't really come out in the second half though and as soon as the goal went in, we just retreated and let Fulham have complete control really. Good to see us battling towards the end rather than heads dropping at the pressure.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Yeah 2nd half was poor, although with some more quality in the final 3rd they could have scored to get clear.

Overal though it's still pretty poor that they have to hang on so much. But then atleast the results are coming in, and 2 clean sheets so that should boost the players. They do look tired though.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

What a pitty we still have to see that fucking Poulsen using our shirt. I want to throw up every time I see him. Cant understand why he would start ahead of Lucas since he has been awful regardless who was our manager.
