Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I do gameplay commentaries and I just made a video in which I share my thoughts on Kenny Dalglish as Liverpool manager. Even though this is not a video thread, I want to post the video here because it fits the discussion. I've been doing this sort of videos for a while now but it's my first time promoting one of my videos on evo-web so your feedback is welcome ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Lukaku is crap, i would stay away from him, ridiculously overhyped! Nothing special, just a big striker, nothing more.]

Surprised you didn't go for Darren Bent!

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

something tells me i will quote you in some months about Lukaku being crap :D

Bent is a player who need to play as CF in 442, we play 433 with two wings and Nando... we need winger who can play striker when Nando is out.. or CF who can sit on bench when Nando is fit to start.. Bent is not such CF.. he would not sit here on bench ;)

Touchy

Why, because i can see Lukaku isn't some super player, instead just another average big striker. Yeah, he scores goals, but apart from goalscoring, the guys got, well, nothing apart from physical attributes!

I bet N'Gog would score as many goals as he does in Belgium! I bet you 20 Pound he would!

something tells me i will quote you in some months about Lukaku being crap :D

Please, go right ahead. Lukaku is probably the most overhyped player i've ever seen. He's Blaise N'Kufo but 17? WOW, AMAZING!!!! Heskey was a good as him at 19-20 and look how he ended up.

Sorry but i thought young talent was young players with the same level of ability of the great players but need the right coaches and right team around them to perform consistently and fulfill their potential.

Not hype up some average striker (he scores goals yes) But that' it!!! Where is Drogba like ability? Nowhere! I don't see it! I've seen a lot of the guy and i don't see why everyone should jump on him because he hit puberty early! I just see a big striker who's scored a few standard goals!

Bent is a player who need to play as CF in 442, w

:CONFUSE: :CONFUSE: :CONFUSE:

Bent is a 4-5-1 striker! He's at his best playing on his own! That's where he made his name with Charlton!

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Apart from goal scoring Inzaghi is nothing special too.
Same goes for Gerd Muller.

Maybe you should read the FIFA rules of football.
Then you will see somewhere that the team that scores most goals wins the match.
Besides that i wonder where you saw a lot of Lukaku? Unless you live in Belgium or are a talent scout, you can't have seen a lot about Lukaku.
I see him week in week out and i too have my doubts if he can live up to the hype, but like i said earlier, it's a litle bit early to write him of. The kid is 17 years old.

But of course you only do it to wind us up and we are so stupid to react...so i guess, you win.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

...So 6 mil for Babel then, decent amount really. Last year it was 8mil and he's done sod all since then (and didn't do much before that sadly).

Not sure about Downing, but then Reira wasn't an amazing player either but he gave the team great balance. If they could sign him for the Babel money it would be a decent transfer.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Agreed, Tik. He offers something different to Maxi in that he's a steady winger with a great cross whereas Maxi is happy to run with the ball (albeit with little pace) and likes to cut inside more.

Could still do with a pacey winger though, our side really does lack pace and has done for a long time.

A pretty good read:

Sport/Foot mag in Belgium claims #Lukaku has agreement to join #MCFC in July. Lawyers in Manc today, been working on deal for 15 days

:(

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Yep. The thing is you're going to get to a point where players know that going there means they won't really play because of the size of the squad.

But what does that matter when they're being paid £200k a week anyway I guess.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Surprised they won't do it in Jan, unless they sign him now and loan him back, with the new rules coming in. I guess it's good policy with Balotelli already saying he will piss off in two seasons, the kid will have 2 years of training and some game time to get ready.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I don't believe this rumour, but i will do some enquiries and will report on it (god that sounds pompous..."our man in Belgium" ...i'm sorry).

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Oops, the Lukaku/Man City news is suddenly all over various websites of Belgian papers...until now it's nothing more than a rumour...but between now and when i first read this from Dags...it's become common knowledge. Hats off Dags...

But still unconfirmed...no mention on the Anderlecht site.

Still, i hope it isn't true...i'm not sure of this is a good move for Lukaku.
In the Belgian press articles on the various sites the fact that Kompany is at Man City was very important for Lukaku. Kompany is (rightly so) seen as a big role model in Belgian football. Kompany is a unusually clever guy (for a football player) and could help Lukaku establish himself at City...that does make some sense.

I have nothing against City (in fact i'm rather pleased there is another big club), but the fact that they all buying "all" good players is not good.

@bensmith_Times
Ben Smith
#lfc's deal for Suarez gathering pace. I'm told @John_W_Henry met his agent for dinner in London last night

Thanks for the update Gerd. It just depresses me that City might, at one point, own Lukaku, Tevez, Dzeko and Balotelli. Those are 4 strikers that deserve to be the 'main man' at a club, not part-timers. I'd love to see Lukaku at Chelsea, reinvigorating their stifled front line. Or Dzeko at Juve.

Oh well, if City are interested you'd imagine it's because they'll let Balotelli or Tevez leave. Pretty nice state of affairs when you can write off a £30m purchase a couple years later.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Balotelli is off to Milan sooner or later, Dzeko and Tevez will be starters with Lukaku on the bench.

Im surprised you lot haven't shown any interest in Sanchez, Udinese are probably not willing to sell until the summer.

Apparently we're looking at/talking to a few strikers. Negredo is still an option that we're considering.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

I just know that Gary McAllister is assisting Houllier @ Aston Villa. When will he be coaching in Anfield I wonder.

Re: Liverpool Thread(King Kenny!!)

Somewhat related: Caroline Wozniacki has given her support to King Kenny (wtf?)"I'm hoping that that will give some positive energy into the guys, into the lads. I'm hoping things will turn and they'll start winning more matches. It's tough to be a supporter and see them having a hard time. But it's a sport, and I'm sure it will turn sooner or later."
