Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

That Aquilani booking is the most ridiculous I've seen. Babel can get his body raked by studs and nothing but a pull of the shirt which didn't even affect the attacker is a booking?!

Re: Liverpool Thread

THREE players grab Kuyt and throw him to the floor and just a yellow? Riiiiight...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Three players lynched him, what do you think he should do?

Ridiculous.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Says a lot for our squad when we need a goal ... and we bring on Degen and El Zhar. When you compare that to other teams in the PL, it's shocking.

Re: Liverpool Thread

He was barely touched, and when he was, it was the back of the neck so why did he go down holding his face? It was Busquets all over again, all whilst having a go at the keeper for playacting.

Didn't think Kuyt was the type.

That happens to Rooney and it's play-acting or you'd be saying the same as me.

Of course you'd be saying it's play acting, silly me

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah he always goes down easily. When Vidic got sent off at Anfield this season there was barely any contact. You're right though, doesn't look like his style.

I'm not gonna pretend Rooney is an angel, but I can't imagine many trying to put their hands on him and have a go, can you?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Disappointed. Can't fault the players, they gave everything and even Babel turned in a decent shift in the second half. We just haven't got enough attacking threat and it showed.

When you're needing a goal and you bring on Degen, something is wrong somewhere...

PIPA23 posted this on RAWK:

yes i remember Aquilani trying his best and being replaced...

WHY THE HELL DEGEN came on???? i will NEVER understand Rafa...i tried but................

And a mod replied with:

You're being watched. If you keep posting shite you're off lad.

What a joke that forum is!

Re: Liverpool Thread

I've just read that as well, can't see the problem with Pipa's post myself but there you go.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Lol at that heavy moderation. Perhaps the rumour of a Chinese takeover are true and communist dictatorship has kicked in.

lol i did not know thanx...

some of them realy are a joke... people can say nothing against it, i back rafa always but this time i felt he should have sent Pacheco much sooner on field....

but nevermind we are out...good luck to Fulham.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Did anyone notice that Aquilani was almost crying when he scored ? We need players with that kind of passion. It doesnt matther if they are british or not. There are players that feel what some clubs represents. Torres knows it because he played for Atletico, Aquilani because he played for Roma, Masche because he played for River. That kind of players should be our targets for next season.

Did you notice Lucas's assist?

Interesting that Rafa admits we need 4-5 players and to shake up the squad a bit. Hopefully he'll have the money to do so (if he's still there).

Of course I notice, very good assist. Just the third of the season, though :P

Re: Liverpool Thread

Ahh well, season nearly over, good luck to atletico and fulham in the final (btw fulham getting there is great for football in general).
I dont want this to sound like sour grapes but how unfair is it for the away goal rule to be included in extra time? well done uefa, nice to see you are earning your wages, ffs over the last 20 years they have destroyed euro football, and imo that started with the circus of the champions league. Champions my arse! Last night i was truly shocked when finding out about the ruling,in this day and age anyone with half a brain would know that this isnt right. Lets create our own associations and federations, because these fuckwits are slowly killing the game. Like i say fairplay to atletico they played well enough to go through, but my beef is with uefa.

You are totally right. I dont see any changes, there are the same guys that dont want to apply technology to football for "historical reasons". It just shows that Fifa and all these organisms dont care a damn thing for football. They should learned from the Nba.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Your right away goals shouldnt count in extra time, but if the result was reversed, then we would be chuffed :D

I'm proud of the performance, over the two legs I think we were the better side, and that was considering the players we were missing and the marathon 1,000mile trip to Madrid. Aquilani was sensational in the first half, his lack of fitness showed again in the 2nd. Stevie G was back to his best....in the first half, non existent in the 2nd.I thought Kuyt had a really poor game, hardly won any of the balls to him, and skied that chance over after that mesmorising 1 touch play with Lucas, Gerrard, Aqua and Mash. Degen actually did come on and make a difference, he is energetic and quick, but I do think Pacheco should have been subbed on quicker.

Babel? Great effort, but again shocking decision making and thus a terrible waste of his physical abilities.

The defence was perfect, we were punished for 1 mistake. But it was always, always going to be on a knife edge when we didnt score in Madrid (is that too much to ask after a 1,000mile trip taking 2 days, maybe) I blame the magpie too. 1 for sorrow....1 for 1 poxy away goal.

The passion showed by Aqua and Benayoun was touching.

I hope Fulham smash Athletico, for the good of football, and also because I'm a bit bitter, we didnt deserve to lose the tie.

I think those who can introduce new technologies are the International Board. Don't allow the new technologies is just ridiculous. The justice in football have been adulterated for many many years because of some old fashion lords. But UEFA won't do much to change it. Platini is another idiot, he just help things went down (I didn't understand why he changed Champions League rules this year e.g.).

By the way, what happens if Fulham wins Europa League? Who goes to Europe next season?

I think that if Rafa would have selected a more offensive team, it would have much different and maybe today we were talking about playing the Uefa final against Fulham. Rafa selected a completely deffensive team to play away, when he should know better than anyone, that away goals are a key in Europe.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Brilliant gifs, I absoloutely loved Benni's celebration :) Made up for him when he scored that, shame it wasn't the goal to send us to Hamburg tho but hopefully he'll score some more important goals with us.
