Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

If we win europa league.. we qualify for champions league..LOL at yourself for not knowing this format..eventhough i prefer Chelsea winning the title..dont want Man U to get 19th.:PIG:
Are you sure about that?
As far as I know you only get a chance to defend it.

Besides,Fulham's gonna grab it :P

Re: Liverpool Thread

You'll play the CL winners in the Super Cup and then the stupid World team cup or whatever parp they call it, if you win the Europa but the Europa winners do not get a CL spot...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Luiz or Cardozo? Because they both arent worth that :D

Release Clause
Cardozo - 60M€
David Luiz - 50M€
Di María - 40M€

I'm keep saying we have in our league two of the best CB's in the World: David Luiz and Bruno Alves.
And you lot in this forum say Maradona is a crap coach beacause of Messi but Dunga is even worse. He doesn't call to canarinha the best brazilian centre back.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I thought Bruno Alves was a right back? Or am I thinking of someone else?

FC Porto centre back. He've played a few games as RB but is not his natural position.

Re: Liverpool Thread

The Porto player, that's the one I was thinking of. I must've caught him at a time he was at RB then :)

Release clauses are that high to warn off potential buyers. Its an inflated value, they arent actually worth that, yet.

I doubt Sevilla would pay 60m for Cardozo!

And Ramires cost you what? Around 5M€ maybe? :SHAKE:

About the Dunga thing, this is happening before him...
No wonder there are several Brazilians playing around the world nations, the relation of our Players-Europe is way but way bigger than our Coaches-Europe.
Some players from markets that doesn't have that much coverage here won't have a chance.
Andre Santos and Ramires are being questioned already, and the funny thing is that a year ago they were asked by a lot of people, now the hype is toward Santos kids...
If you wanna play for Brazil you better play in Brazil/England/Spain/Italy
Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the others are overlooked, players in the current NT from those markets are probably there because of their past.

Sorry for the :OT:

tbf that probably had very little to do with the United game, people often wear Bayern, Milan, Barca etc. shirts at the match.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Do someone understand Rafa´s logic ? Aquilani was clearly our best performer, all our chances came from him. His pass to Maxi, for instance, was pure magic.
And Rafa goes and takes him off. Then, we didnt have more chances.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well that's that then!

Guess we can focus on the EL now.......for another season, great.

Poor decision to tak Aquilani off, both him and Gerrard were keeping a lot of possesion near the Fulham area. He goes off, Gerrard drops back and nothing for the rest of the match. He's probably injured though....

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well statistically there's a 75% chance.......but it was more a joke.

Looked dissapointed to go off, and with both Gerrard and Masch looking knackered it wasn't the right sub. But then he's still getting matchfit so it's in his best interest.

Hahahaha, you sound just like Rafa.
I guess Benitez has made the wrong change in two games in a row now.
Did Gerrard react like this when Aqua went off ?

Uefa Europa League
Liverpool v Atletico Madrid, SF, L2, 20:05

Saturday, 1 May 2010
Barclays Premier League
Liverpool v Chelsea, 15:00

Seriously? So we're likely playing a very tiring game against Atletico and then two days later we're expected to play Chelsea?

If the title wasn't decided then, I can see that being the day Chelsea win it because we'll be too knackered to compete.

Agree - pretty crap that. What I find most surprising is that its a 15:00 kick off - can't believe Sky didn't pick it up!

That's been the real lesson of this season - competing on two fronts is tougher than it used to be. Without United's continual failure following midweek CL ties, they'd be out of site..

Re: Liverpool Thread

Surely that will get changed though?! They won't have anymore matches left to broadcast with the last round being all at the same time. Looking at the schedule every single game for the whole league is at 3pm saturday (according to the bbc website). It will probably still get changed to the late sunday kickoff.

:D, was tong in cheek!

The subs were crap all around though:
- Beni didn't do anything on the wing
- Kuyt didn't do anything and the whole system changed (Aqua off, Gerrard deep)
- Pacheco isn't a target man

So from having continued possesion near the box with Johnson and Babel keeping the game wide and having Ngog keeping them busy in the box we went to having no-one in the box and two deep playing strikers who can't keep possesion (Kuyt/Pacheco), no width on the left (Beni going inside everytime) and no width on the right because we couldn't keep possesion upfield and Johnson had to drop back.

Lovely Rafa................but I'm sure the excel fitness spreadsheet looks great!

Re: Liverpool Thread

The Chelsea game was changed to the Sunday last week.

Oh, and Kuyt, Benayoun and Pacheco coming off the bench and not playing well is hardly Rafa's fault is it? They are players (well, Kuyt and Benayoun) who should be able to come off the bench and change a game, but they didn't.

I didn't see the problem with bringing Aquilani off tbh, the lad was clearly tiring, although i know that as far as Liverbird is concerned Aquilani should be playing 90 minutes every single game, but no, Gerrard didn't react in the slightest with the Aquilani substitution, why would he?
