You lot might dismiss it but I'd be willing to put a bet on you not getting more than 86 points. As Beachryan said though that total is capable of winning the league.

I'll dismiss it. Simply because we got 86 points, when the best strike partnership in the world started only 15 games for us. If they start more, we'll win more games. Simple.

Interesting how we line up today. Might see glimpses of a new system we've talked about.

Well before the start of last season Fergie was asked about Chelsea and he said they had an ageing squad and Scolari would struggle and everyone laughed at him and he was proved right so don't be so quick to jump at everything he says.

You had a fantastic season last year and a lot went your way so I can see where he's coming from.

Of course. It's the mind games I tell you. He's such a genius Ferguson. I bet Rafa and Hughes are shitting themselves, and think there's no point even trying to compete.

Last week he said, it's going to be between Chelsea, us and United, now, it's only Chelsea.

What's the best he'll say something about Chelsea if they win their first few matches?

He's a hypocritical little cunt, Ferguson. Incredible how he's still talking about us not deserving to win the Champions League? If that's the case, then Bayern shouldn't have conceded two goals in injury time, and Terry shouldn't slipped, and United would have one only one European Cup.

Blame Rafa. If he hadn't tried to shift him last season this might not have happened.

On the other hand, if Rafa wanted to get rid because he has a new system and Xabi doesn't fit then you should get the fuck over it because if it clicks you'll be rimming Benitez again as usual.

Delighted with this to be honest, i'm excited to see what he can do but moreso i'm delighted with how quick we were able to get it done.

This would never have been possibly with Rick Parry as the chief exec, fact.

on numbers, considering his position i'd expect him to take either number 4 or number 6 but even number 10 would fit if we got rid of Triple H.

I'm guessing that you guys are going to change your system because replacing Alonso with Aquilani in the current system would be downright stupid.

So with Aquillani coming in, will Steviee Meee go back into the centre of midfield and break up "THE BEST STRIKE PARTNERSHIP IN THE WORLD" and with Alonso going, surely your points total will drop having to play 11 vs 11 every game.

4 or 6 would be strange as he's more attack minded but I suppose Zidane wore 5 and positional numbers are slowly going down the pan.

Chelsea's squad is still old, but they're firm challengers now? Utd lose the best player in the world and it doesn't affect Utd's title chances?

Ferguson doesn't make ANY kind of point at all. The man is bitterness beyond belief and to still be talking about us winning in Istanbul years later proves that point. He's clearly worried about us and is starting his "mind games" so early now that he's making himself look like he's "losing the plot" now.

Really, Ferguson could say Princess Diana and Elvis are alive and Utd fans would believe that as well.

Man... I'm excited!

Can't say I'm optimistic about it because sadly I think he won't do well :( ( I HOPE to god I'm wrong tho!) I really hope he does well! Great player, good guy + I want to see L'pool improve and make the title race even tighter but excited because he's a classy player with huge potential and Rafa might just be the man to get the best out of him as he managed with Torres!

yeh i doubt he'll be sitting deep.

i think we'll be playing Mascherano deeper now with Aquilani and Gerrard just behind Torres with Riera/Benayoun and Kuyt/Babel either side.

That formation wont offer your full backs much protection and with Johnson's natural tendancy to overlap and push forward could leave you exposed at the back.

He does make a point. He said Liverpool achieved their highest point total for 20 years and might struggle to match it again. Whats so absurd about that? You might disagree with it, which is fair enough but it doesn't make it bitter bollocks!

We have lost the best player in the world and SAF has acknowledged that but remember football is a team game and we can now make a change from totally revolving around Ronaldo to a system that allows more players to shine.

Greece won Euro 2004 by beating a Portugal a side containing Ronaldo, Deco, Pauleta, Figo, Carvalho etc on their own patch. None of the Greeks were 'star' players but they still beat everyone to win.
