Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Big year for that man. I've always liked him (mainly because he was good on FM08) but I think this year he needs to shake off the 'shitter than my nan' tag he's somehow got himself (see Bendtner/Nani) and step up.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Look how marca madridism, sucks. They dont know the difference between pounds and euros and they are saying the operation is about 30m euros, while it is pounds. They also said that the operation was down.

Re: Liverpool Thread

About Defour.
He's great, big personality, a winner.
When Fellaini played with Standard Defour was a sort of AMF.
To his astonishement Standard's trainer asked him to play as DMF to replace Fellaini.
As a DMF he was even more decisive and scored lots of goals.
Personally i think Defour would better go to a club like Everton or Villa (both were interested) or Sevilla (interested too). At the moment when playing in a bigger competition he needs to play...

Oh an Zidane is a personal fan of Defour...i think that says something.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Apparantly you lot are close to signing Poulsen. Replacement for Masch? Im liking the sound of this! :))

Re: Liverpool Thread

This is why the end of the transfer window can't come soon enough, we'll have enough of these rumours from the wankers in the media business.

These days there isnt much difference........

Hmmmm, just missed the news yesterday then. Glad its over! Can't blame him for wanting to leave, he has two good reasons. Last seasons transfer stuff and who wouldnt want to orchestrate a team with Real's attacking 4 in front of you, especially as a Spaniard.

Guess we'll see if all that Aquilani stuff is real or maybe Defour.

There are few better replacement if we sell Masch than Poulsen. He was a brilliant player at Sevilla.

We won't well Masch though, so don't wet yourself.

30 m pounds = 35 m euros.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Haha, how we're not serious contenders for the title, that we matched our best tally in the last 20 years, and will find it hard it improve upon it (while he's lost about 50 goals from his team), and that Milan should have won 2005 CL Final.

Master at the mind games is he.

Re: Liverpool Thread

That he has a bigger chance of a hole in one then Liverpool of winning the league and that teams will suss out that Gerrard and Torres are dangerous. And that Chelsea will be the bigger threat because of Ancolotti and that he's won the CL twice and it should have been 3 because Liverpool shouldnt have won it.

Seems he's pretty shaken after last season then with so far his biggest signing being Owen after losing Ronaldo and Tevez.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fergie's starting WAAYY too early, though in fairness he was asked if he thought Liverpool would do better this year. Do you honestly believe you'll get much above 86 points? Personally I think that tally might win you the league, but I doubt you'll get more.

Great bit of business by Rafa. Alonso is not the most important player at liverpool, he is replaceable and £30m is a load of cash.

Interestingly, apparently that just leaves Jamie and Stevie as players that were around for the CL final in 2005. Pretty massive clearout...

:BLINK::BLINK:
Abhi, Poulsen is the WORST player in the world!!
He can't mark, pass, tackle, run or shoot...

Honestly, if you lot want him I'll personally drive him by bike from Turin to Merseyside.

He's had one bad season. Believe me mate, I've watched a LOT of him when he was at Sevilla, who were one of my favorite teams a few years ago, and he was very, very good. And he was Schalke's best central midfielder as well.

Anyways, Tony Barret's confirmed we're not in for him, and we're close to a deal with Aquilani.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Ok, I'll go with your instincts then. Just saw him past season and he was utter, utter gash.
Deal with Roma has been reached according to Sky Italia, only thing is missing is personal terms.

Excellent. Aquilani just oozes class, hope he stays fit.

We'll still have around 14M left, + 5M from the Leto and Arbeloa deals, and maybe more if we sell Dossena, Voronin and Itandje. That's 20M+, and selling Xabi only makes sense if we use this to really strengthen our team. Hopefully a utility defender (who can play on the right and center). An attacking midfielder would be nice as well.

12 days left, let's hope Rafa has the deals in place.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It's probably because it's a Liverpool fan writing it, I'm sure you wouldn't think the same about the writer if the same article was done about Ferguson by a Utd fan ;)

I'd probably feel a bit less strongly about it yeah, but I'd still think the writer was a pretentious cock :D

Re: Liverpool Thread

"It has been too long, since May, that he told us he wanted to leave and after the official transfer request we were working very hard."

Alonso knew he wanted to go months ago but kept the fans believing he might stay right up until a couple of days ago :SHAKE:
