Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Looks like it's the groin injury more than hamstring, doesn't seem to indicate he'd be out for the season though.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Sorry, groin yes, but he could be out for several weeks according to sources on RAWK, KOPTALK etc.

even a few weeks=big problems.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Interesting post on RAWK:

This might come out as bitter, however it concerns us, to put it lightly. I'll translate from the Swedish article.

Chelsea asked to not get any yellows

The danish referee Claus Bo Larsen reveals that Chelsea staff approached him before the Liverpoolgame asking him not to give any yellows to the Chelsea players.

- They said: think about that some of our players already have yellows, we would be happy if you don't give them any in this game, Larsen claims to sporten.dk

At the end of the game the Chelsea Captain John Terry got a yellow and will miss the tuesday game. - If a player does something worthy of a yellow, they'll get one, says Larsen.

Re: Liverpool Thread

 That seems a bit far fetched, surely Chelsea aren't so stupid that they'd expect him to overlook any number of bookable offences just because they asked him to?! And that would be a chargable offence which could incur fines/bans as it's bringing the game into disripute.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I really would not trust the loonies on RAWK, they make all Liverpool fans look like retarded chimpanzees.

pfft, hardly m8.

redcafe is comedy reading however ;)

Regarding today. Great we got the job done and never really looked bothered...no actually we weren't bothered by Blackburn and we never really looked like we wanted to score more than 2. We were lacklustre, some will say it was to conserve energy, but i thought it was disrespectufl, and we wasted so many opportunities to put the game to bed earlier.

Thankfully we picked it up in the last 10minutes with two cracking goals and made the scorlines more representative or either out dominance, or how absolutley shit Blackburn were.

And Torres's two goals were absolute world class, stunning, proper all round Center Forward stuff. Not enough superlative to describle the lads talents. Just QWALITY, no?

Oh and the Chelsea cards thing is on the Guardian and mainstream now.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Amazing how poor Blackburn were, seemed more like a pre season against amature's the 2nd half. Could have probably been 10-0 had they not been so sloppy in the final 3rd. Oh well, hopefully saved a lot of energy and not waste "goals" in a game already won.

Re: Liverpool Thread

o ffs i had a dream we lost 3-1 and i didnt realize it was a dream till now
#19 let's goo

Re: Liverpool Thread

I was happy with our performance today, we got the job done and didn't overstretch ourselves and risk players pulling up with any injuries.

STUNNING goal from Torres for the first, but then the other goals were all class as well. Pleased for N'gog to get on the scoresheet again too :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hmmmm, manu having to rely on a 17year old to get them the win again. Hopefully them continuing to stay top whilst barely beating the worst form sides in the league could help us. You just know our players will not be used to staying top (as they have already showed) so getting top at the latest possible stage would be better. And with manu having to play a few decent sides now it might be perfect timing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Sam was getting redder and redder in the sun at Anfield and will need new implants if he chews any harder!

Season ending looking tasty - Utd struggled but won at a relegation threatened team - they have to play some stronger teams now. Will make good viewing whichever way it goes.

Tactic for CL 2nd leg - hoof it up to a big lad to flick on at the 18 yard box, get the second touch - we may come back yet!

Re: Liverpool Thread

United have to play decent sides now, but so do we. I was hoping they would stumble before Arsenal.

They nearly did. They were poor against Villa and Sunderland but got the result.

Arsenal for us next and Pompey (who can't defend) for them at home....:(

To be fair, we had 65% possession against Sunderland, so we weren't exactly poor. It's just we couldn't defend a lead if our lives depended on it.

And those are two candidates for goal of the season.

Re: Liverpool Thread

The Torres one's a lot better. He wasnt even facing the goal when the ball came in. Not easy shooting at that angle, let alone scoring in that fashion.

I seem to be reading something like this every other day in the press. Arent any of the Liverpool fans getting tired of it? He's just making himself look like an idiot.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah I agree. I can see what he's trying to do but it's relentless and surely he can see the irony in what he's saying? It's so hypocritical but I guess he's got nothing to lose. If Liverpool catch us Rafa will be lauded as a genius by the press and deemed to have won the battle of 'mindgames' when in reality it will be because we fucked up big time and threw it away.

Re: Liverpool Thread

...but on the other side, we could end up seeing another Kevin Keegan moment. He knows that time's running out and it must be frustrating him seeing us scrape wins while his side have been performing well.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think Rafa is just taking the piss. He knows none of it matters, but the press love it. Its not a Keegan moment because he doesn't mean any of it.

Funny how during our bad patch, rotation wasn't mentioned and zonal marking wasn't mentioned, it was apparently all Rafas fault for having a go at Ferguson for trying to influence referees (which several referees came out and backed rafa)

Torres' tribute to the 96 apparantly. With him being the number 9, he holds up 6 fingers to finish the tribute :)

That's quite a subtle and unique way to pay tribute. Well done Fernando.:WORSHIP:
