Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

 Fuck off! One of the best games of football I've seen as a United fan and were not short of classic's

Re: Liverpool Thread

@ Frangoitia - Wtf are you on about? Mike Riley gave every 50/50 against United. Just gotta hold your hands up and say we have a title race on.

Re: Liverpool Thread

And didnt give us a penalty that should have been. And a freekick right on the edge of the area when Tevez was fouled.

Dont be bitter old bean.

Re: Liverpool Thread

5 mins added time = completely justified. James Milner spent over a minute coming off, actually went all the way to the oppostie fo the penalty and walked the whole way. Offsides were marginal, Ronaldo has SCORED six offside goals that were wrongly disallowed this season. You guys deserve to be where you are, shut the fuck up about the refs, not in that game anyway.

Ok, defeat us and then we can start to talk.

Re: Liverpool Thread

So I guess on that basis:

Middlesbrough > Liverpool > Man Utd

?

You're not 6 years old FFS
Of course not, I just said that because beachryan told that we deserve to be just where we are. Well, I can tell that from where we are, we won you 4-1 in Old Trafford and we are playing a pretty good football, so I can say that's not a bad position. I prefer that, than being in the 1st position being extremely lucky and having referees helps

Think your dillusional mate, You do realise you've won more of your games in the last 2-3 minutes this season than most of the league put together.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i think United deserved the win tonight simply for how poor Villa were in defence. They counter-attacked well and held the ball but as soon as United got the ball Villa fell to pieces at the back.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I do have to feel for the Liverpool fans, I bet you lot were delighted at one point! However, I don't think you guys can really be saying "we can still do it" until Man Utd play they play that extra game they missed.

I thought the ref was poor today, but 50/50! The lines man called some poor off sides, and the ref missed many fouls (Tevez on the edge of the box). Therefore, I think it's fair to say the ref was shit to both teams.

 And did anyone catch Tevez' diving header tackle?

Re: Liverpool Thread

? We've beaten Bolton at the Reebok and at home iirc so your post therefore is pointless...

Oh ffs, it was a joke........How more obvious do you want them!?

Didn't see manu's match so can't comment. But the positive thing Liverpool can take from it is it took a last minute goal to beat a team spanked 5-0 a couple of weeks ago. Either way there will probbaly be more of these late goals scored for both sides in the run-in. This week CL again, its great international week is over :D

Re: Liverpool Thread

Don't you wish you could just go to sleep and wake up at the end of the season? These ups and downs with us and Utd are killing me

And we beat Fulham 4-0 away a few weeks ago before you beat them with a last minute goal. (although they have beaten us since)

Re: Liverpool Thread

I love all the arguing.. it's going to be closer.. the ability to score late goals is the hallmark of champions both Liverpool and Man Utd have done that this weekend against Fulham and Villa respectively... Bring on CL week!

You're not from RAWK, are you?

Its great isnt it, what seemed to be a totally predictable season has all of a sudden become exciting :D

You deserve to be where you are? 2nd in the league having played a game more sounds about right to me

And about refs, remember when Mike Riley (yes the same guy who inexplicably added on 5 mins for us) sent off Lampard for being kicked and then didnt send Gerrard off when he committed at least 3 bookable offenses? Wasn't that a bit of help? Take your blinkers off.

Never Mind Jumbo i got the point now just the post before people were being serious

Re: Liverpool Thread

Why the moaning? United deserved to win, the jammy bastards.

Ah well, I'm just happy we're in the running at this time of the season.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Don't get me started on Mike Riley - to be fair, he is soft on all the big clubs depending on who is the home team. He seems to crack under pressure and can't stop his hand reaching into his pocket for a card like an uncontrollable reflex. Utd good result (5 mins was a bit Sheff Wed type injury time like) - great comeback as was Liverpool's. Enjoying it and hope more teams have the courage to attack Utd.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Can I just say thank you to Rafa for his encouragement of teams coming to play at OT? If it continues and we have more games like the 3-2 I'm all for it, even if it means losing the league. I've hated the majority of home games this season, when teams would actually go the whole match without taking a shot on our goal, and rarely if ever send 3 of their players over the halfway line. Made the football boring as hell, and kind of got rid of the point of watching. It's supposed to be entertaining.

If United can get back to the swashbuckling you can score 4 but we'll score 5 that's great imo. It beats the hell out of the alternative - this dull chess game of whose defensive midfielders make more important challenges per minute per square metre of pitch.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Is there an expression in spanish that is equivalent to pot calling the kettle black?

Just seen the Rafa press conference. Where he spends 5 minutes talking about the fact that Fergie talks too much about his team, that Fergie is scared and that Fergie should focus on his own team. And how he only focuses on Liverpool. And how United will be worried more about the team who loses the CL tie. And how United will be supporting Liverpool in both ties, clearly.

So he spends half his press conference talking about United, after prefacing it with Fergie talks too much about his team.

Great manager, brilliant tactician absolutely sh*t at PR...

Was just about to point this out but you beat me to it. I don't know what he's thinking really, just being bullish? Didn't he know what happened after the LAST TIME he did that? Well not everybody's perfect. :-)
