Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Harsh redcard, didnt make any extra movement to bring Torres down. Shame really as there was no need and it only helps Utd.

Re: Liverpool Thread

That red card will surely be overturned if Villa appeal?!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Harsh red card, but hope they don't overturn it :) Friedel is a monster...

Great win. Hats off, if you win the prem playing like that, fair enough. The best team will have won. :/

Re: Liverpool Thread

Good win, but its still ours, not sure why United fans on here are so downbeat. still top with a game in hand.

Re: Liverpool Thread

typical modern football fans, we've got shed loads of the c**ts as well

i go the match with some right 2 faced twats, first it was "we're gonna piss it" even though the gap was only a point or 2 considering united's games in hand, then it was "fuckin sack rafa, not got a fuckin clue"
now suddenly we're the best team in the country again

personally couldn't give a shite what happens in the league for the rest of the season as i'm fairly happy and never expected to win it anyway, if we can push united to the last couple of games i'll be delighted and it should do the players a world of good and give them experience for the future, the european cup is a different matter like, i think too many people get sucked in by media bollocks and then have kneejerk reactions when things dont go their way

end of the day we're improving and will (with a bit of luck) more than likely win it in the next season or 2, the mancs will always be strong, chelsea have a good squad and with some stability (ie: employing a mangager and sticking with him through thick and thin) they'll go onto win things, arsenl have solid foundations and are also capable of winning things, any slight blip whether it's a loss of form, loss of key players etc gets overlooked, overhyped & over analysed, so called experts who've done fuck all and won fuck all criticise managers and players who've achieved more than they could ever dream of and a lot of the muppets who've jumped on the bandwagon over the last few years fall for it

i've been going the match for nearly 30 years, basically footie is a load of shite but it's a drug that keeps you coming back for more, great when you win, shite when you don't, i'd take doing "a leeds" in a heartbeat so as a fan i could get back to the good old days of getting up in a morning and saying "fuck it i'm off the match this afternoon" instead of the 3 or 4 week operation it is now arranging tickets and transport

Just typical human nature. Downbeat because of disappointment. We had the league sewn up a couple of weeks ago and now the pendulum has swung your way.

Re: Liverpool Thread

"Funny old game..." as Greavsie once put it. Amazing what confidence (or lack of it) does for a team.

Have to agree with fishcake about the tickets to the match situation. I used to go all the time back in the late eighties - even when we were at our 1988 ish peak I could get in for all except the all-ticket games. Now, you need a season ticket or be very lucky. Good job I moved away really but do enjoy the buzz when I go. Being 6'2" mind, I bloody hate sitting down as I'm kneeing the person in front with my knees.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Great victory guys !!
I heard that Silva is going to be a target this year, do you think is possible to bring him to our team ? He is a fantastic player.

He is strongly linked with Juventus as well, :( He will probably choose Liverpool though since he's Spanish.

He won't go to Italy. He knows Madrid and Barcelona may want him by the end of the season and I think he will wait for any of those 2 clubs to sign him, because it would be easier for him (and his style of play) to remain in La Liga. If none of them does a move, he will probably look to the Premier.

Anyway, I don't think it's a player for Liverpool. He lacks muscle and consistency, he's similar to Arshavin, capable of great things now and then but disappears from the game when it gets tough.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool couldnt afford him (and probably shouldnt get him for the price) he'd cost around 25-30M for that they could get Ribery.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Completely disagree mate, other than Messi and Ronaldo (Who both arent really wingers) Ribery is probably the best Winger in world football IMO. Silva's extemely inconsistant, IMO he suits the La Liga and should stay there.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Whoa, can't agree with that. They're both very, very good but I'd be hard pressed to pick who is better.

No way would Bayern sell Ribery for under £30m. He's far and away their best player this season.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I prefer Silva rather than Robben, he is younger and doesnt have so many injuries as Robben. He would perform a great association with Gerrard, Xabi Alonso and Torres.

Who's talking about Robbensh*t here? He's not allowed to be talked in this thread

I'll take Ribery anyday, but can't say anything about Silva cause haven't seen him play.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I would prefer Ribery a thousand times. Silva is extremely good but extremely irregular. I don't think he would suit your style neither the EPL intensity.

Ribery has to come to Barcelona to fill the left wing (they talk is almost done for about 40 M€ this june, but Manchester will also bid for him). I think a very good choice for Liverpool would be Ashely Young, he suits better your team and would be a perfect complement for Torres and Gerrard. He will cost around 25 M€, but after the beating this weekend maybe the villains don't want to negotiate (you should have spared some goals for chelsea).

Re: Liverpool Thread

Ribery is one of the best players in the world, not only on ability but also on his form this season, regardless of all this BS I've read about him playing in a "weaker" league.
