AFC Liverpool romped to a 5-0 home victory in a fiery first ever league game against Darwen on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Martin Smeaton, Dean Thurston (2), Ryan Wignall and James Croxton ensured a winning start to the Vodkat First Division campaign.

The game, held at Valerie Park in Prescot, also saw the opposition manager dismissed following a scuffle, while around 400 AFC fans teased their counterparts with ironic chants of 'You ain't got no history'.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Your getting David Silva, you heard it from me first :)) (My theory is since were linked with him and the source is Balague who was the same one that thought Torres to us was a done deal was completely wrong and signed for you i can see this turning out the same way)

We are an ABSOLUTE joke of a club. That's what we are.

If any other manager, managing a top club wanted Barry, he'd have got him. But no, not our club. One week before the start of the season, and the fucking clown releases a statement that the two dumwits are not prepared to spend the cash on a player that our manager is so desperate to get, in other words, they don't trust a manager's judgment, who's won a Champions League, and two La Liga's.

Fucking shambles it is.

Re: Liverpool Thread

1) I thought it wasn't a question of money?

2) Barry is a year younger than Keane, isn't he? They're going on about resale fee's but Keane cost us more and he's older?

3) What happened to chairman not interfering? How can they say they're not questioning Rafa's judgement but then say the price is too high? If Rafa wants to pay £18m for Barry, then they ARE questioning his judgement!

Fuckwits.

Re: Liverpool Thread

As I said before, I think Rafa has moved target, not Barry anymore. It has long be known that the Barry's price is too high, and Parry simply confirms that Liverpool FC shares our opinion.

IMO, questioning Rafa's judgment would be more to a "Let's not buy Barry, let's buy Lampard instead". Judgment is the choice of player, we all know that Rafa wants Barry, and LFC agrees to him. The price of that player is a different matter, it's affordability. So it's not whom, but how much, and that's not judgement.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think the owners are right to question rafas judgment...

Right, are they? What have they achieved to question one of today's top managers? Their job is to support Rafa, not to judge him. The fact that Rafa made Barry his No. 1 priority of the summer, should have been enough for the owners. But no, they've PUBLICALLY undermined Rafa AGAIN, and have questioned the manager's ability in front of the world.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Rafa sets himself to be undermined what manager goes out and put names out so quick! Everything you say will be used against you...Rafa say "we have midfielders to do the job ,but wants another addition" that doesn`t seem smart nor goes well w/ the Bosses.

Villa our over pricing Barry which in the end Barry sits unhappy

Nah.

A joke of a club is one that lets itself get held to ransom over transfers and pays over the top for players who aren't worth it. I really like Barry as a player, but £18m is too much.

Plus, i don't think he'd add too much to our current team, he's not a better player than Alonso, and Silva is a more exciting prospect for the price.

Keane is worth the £19m simply because he offers more, he'll provide around 20 goals and plenty of assists.

well they are both successful business men, and thats what this is about..

rafa's transfer policy is baffling, as is his attitude and comments in the press, always wanting more and more...

no other top manager does this, i could'nt imagine wenger of SAF adopting this attitude...

I dont rate rafa at all, two cups dont paper over the facts that he's never sustained a shot at the title (even the year you won the CL you came 5th)...

at a time when money is tight, you wouldnt put your life savings on rafa!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Becoming a bigger AFC fan it seems rather than Liverpool FC? Maybe its because AFC will win their league;))

Wouldn't say bigger, just becoming a big fan. I approve a lot of what AFC Liverpool stand for and it's nice to see football played for the right reasons, with a proper atmosphere and right attitude.

What a load of BS. You don't rate Rafa, so what? He's still been one of the most successful European managers since the turn of the century.

And you see, the money is there. The money to buy Barry is there, and that's what infuriates me. If the money is there, let the manager spend it whatever way he wants.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just saw rumour mill spinning a yarn about Joe Cole...now that would be a smart signing. I could see him leaving too, especially if Robinho comes. A 3 of Keane, Cole and Gerrard supporting Torres, with Xabi and (barry?) behind them...pretty tasty stuff.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Cole would be nice, as long as he's healthy :)

And if Berbatov's move to OT materialized, we're absolutely screwed in the League.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Why would Chelsea sell J.Cole? He's a quality player IMO, Probably the only player that has consistently looked good when in a England shirt.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Chelsea do strange things. I can see Cole going depending on how Scolari rates him but I reckon Scolari will like him. He's been called a Brazilian-esque player before and I reckon he'll fit into Scolari's style.

Can't see Chelsea selling someone that good to us either.

lol the owners dont rate rafa either...

you forgot about last season already...

and yeah the money is there, of course is it is...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Good post from another forum

The question is have we improved under Rafa and are the vast majority of fans happy with him?
The answer to both questions is yes.
The guy has been here 4 years and we are getting closer to the title along with the trophies he has brought is.
As ive stated before, some of his signings have baffled us, but the beauty of it is, the ones who fail he gets shut of.
The squad has improved season after season hence the point tally closing and now is the strongest he has had in 4 years.
The club has a whole has improved greatly in 4 years, from the youth through to the reserves.
If closing the point gap year on year isnt progress and improvement then i dont know what is.

And we all know that the owners are idiots. They didn't even know who Franz Beckenbauer was!

What's to forget about last season? I remember last season well, as well as all the years under Rafa, AND the years under Houllier, where we were UEFA Cup contenders, rather than regular contenders for the Champions League, and were fighting with Newcastle for the Top 4, rather than now, when we've finished 3rd twice, and have accumulated our two highest point totals since 1990.

Yeh, I remember.

Re: Liverpool Thread

we've spent £19m on Keane, £18m on Mascherano, £6.5m on Skrtel, £7m on Dossena, £20m on Torres, £11.5m on Babel, £5m on Benayoun, £1.5m on N'Gog and £6m on Lucas since the Yanks took over, so don't tell me they haven't supported Rafa and that we've got no money.

even Martin O' Neil said the that Liverpool had the money to sign Gareth Barry but Villa changed the deal at the last minute because they're a bunch of cunts.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fake page. Straight away, the URL isn't even a BBC link  Then the grammar mistakes, lack of paragraphs and general way it's put together.

Shit effort by whoever made it. Pretty sad that someone would go to that effort and not even do it properly
