Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeh well he's been injured for most of this season so that is probably why. I hope we get to see more of him throughout the tournament.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well, guys.. I just read.. Liverpool will visit Oslo and meet Vålerenga to a match the 5th august at Ullevaal. What do you think about that? and will someone take the trip over?

Not got the money to go over but Oslo is a place I'd LOVE to go, Scandinavia in general really :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Looks like we're still after Riera, offering £9m to them, they want £12m.

Downing or Riera?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Didn't know were were in for Downing.. Typical shitty target we're in for, I must say.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Shitty is harsh, I admit. But you would be satisfied with Downing after everyone else we've been linked to?

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'd rather Downing than Mancini I think. Have we been linked with any other wingers other than Riera?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hope you guys are right--IF he's coming that is. And yeah, I wouldn't want Mancini here either. I was thinking more along the lines of Silva..

Meh, Silva is very overrated. Good player, but really, just doesn't do enough IMO. Doesn't score that many, doesn't create that many.

I'd rather have Downing, who, let's admit it, has had a fantastic season. 9 goals is a great stat in one season, and he's got natural speed that Silva doesn't. Plus, he's used to the Premiership. Think Silva would get kicked around easily.

Re: Liverpool Thread

You need Downing more than anything else. He's good and also English meaning more passion which you definitely need.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Carra, Agger, Dossena

Wright Phillips, Barry, Gerrard, Mascherano, Downing

Torres, Villa/Babel

:D

Re: Liverpool Thread

Why does it look like that mighty fine spanish lady has turned her neck around 360? :D

I fear Villa's mooted 17m price tag has just gone up by double.....*sigh*

but yes, he'd be brilliant at Liverpool. Rafa needs to get on the blower, Torres can do the rest, but we'd need to sell half the squad to finance the deal.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'd take selling Crouch, Pennant and Riise to fund Villa.

I already think Torres might've had a few words with Villa, and the way Villa ran towards him is pretty encouraging :)

Hey, I can hope :D

3 at the back with SWP and Downing on the wing? Teams would murder you on the counter attack.

Degen---Carra---Agger---Dossena
--Gerrard---Mascherano---Barry--
----------Villa-------Babel-----------

Re: Liverpool Thread

In a statement Villa said: "Gareth Barry has stated in discussions with our manager he would like to leave Aston Villa to join Liverpool.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Arbeloa---Carra---Agger---Dossena
-----Mascherano---Barry------
--Kuyt------Gerrard-----Babel--
------------Torres------------

is more realistic I think

Ah, let me dream :-pp

Barry should also tell MON that he's a cunt.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hat-trick hero Villa lavishes praise on Torres

'The first two goals were with the help of Torres,' said Villa. 'You saw what happened with the first one and with the second he opened the space so (Andres) Iniesta could make the pass to me.

'I think he had a very important game, he's a key player to us and I wanted to dedicate that third goal to make him happy.'

and then there's poor old Cesc

Cesc's Villa dream
Arsenal ace would love to link-up with team-mate

Cesc Fabregas says he would love to see his Spain team-mate David Villa playing at Arsenal.

Villa lit up Euro 2008 on Tuesday as he grabbed a sensational hat-trick in Spain's 4-1 demolition of Russia in Innsbruck.

Fabregas, who came off the bench to grab the fourth, says Villa would make a huge impact in the Premier League and he would love to see Arsenal sign him ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool - who have been linked.

"He would be amazing for the English league," Fabregas said of Villa.

"I would like to have him in my team because as you can see he can make the difference.

"He's an amazing player. He has mobility, he scores goals. He plays well at the back of defenders, in front of them, he's a tremendous player."

Obviously Villa's got the hots for Torres over Fab.. hopefully Gerrard won't make things complicated at Anfield following Villa's hopeful arrival ;))
