Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wow what a difference no debt makes! Apparently are operating costs have gone down from 30 million to 2-3million!

Thats 27 mil to spend on players! We havent had that for 4 or 5 transfer windows!

Re: Liverpool Thread

NESV will hopefully be good for LFC....
I like the fact that he says their actions will be louder than words.

As far as Hodgson....he needs to go....he is not a winner...
his mid-table mentality shines in every press-conference...

Hopefully with NESV being all about winning.....they will
get winners at the manager and player level...

Oh Dear! sounds like Obama

Re: Liverpool Thread

Kinda sounds like he's begging to stay in the job, then makes a threat to say he wants his three years wages if we do "get rid" of him.

Re: Liverpool Thread

He sounds like such a weak manager......saying the players are already nervous about he match if things don't go well, he's "hoping" to turn it around.

Man the F$%k up Roy! Nothing less then victory is expected in every game. Don't be preparing excuses before the match has even kicked off!

This is why most people think he isn't good enough for the job, the team playing as crap as last season, or even worse really, isn't even the issue. You can expect that with the mess and a new manager, but atleast project some confidence that you can do the job and not say you are hoping you can do it!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Henry has 17 cash investors behind his NESV company. They have a MUCH better track record than Hicks. I wish Parry and Moores did their research on G and H. They already had "franchises" in trouble.

Lets move on, and lets concentrate on putting all that emotional energy into roaring the team back up to the top of the table (or there-abouts)

Hodgson, I'm not convinvced. I would usually say I'd give him a season at least, but if we're still in the shit at Christmas.....and someone like O'Neil is avalibale...

Re: Liverpool Thread

if we dont improve i doubt he will last untill christmas...

the thing is we dont earn any points.. and we wont just look and hope it gets better, now we are in relegation form...

internet-terrorist.jpg

Internet terrorists, ruining Tom Hicks and his sports management :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hodgson inspires no confidence....he is already begging the owners to stay...he knows he probably won't last too long....
He is saying it would be nice to win.......what ???
We are in the bottom 3....we were 2nd two seasons ago....you're saying it
will be nice to win ?....
This is the same man who felt our 2-2 draw at home to sunderland was a
good performance......

He is comparing himself to Arsene wenger....dude get real...Wenger
won the Title in his first season......

He says his hands were tied during the transfer window....funny...he
still managed to waste money on Poulsen and Konchesky....
he had not bothered about Van der Vaart...or Loic Remy.....
he signs Meireles and admits he has no clue where to play him..
I can't imagine anyone with any sense giving him more money to spend...
Just hope NESV can see the reality soon

Re: Liverpool Thread

So I heard Lucas AND Poulsen are starting today. If it's true, I'm actually not going to watch the match.

Re: Liverpool Thread

paul_tomkins Paul Tomkins
Team I'd heard is Reina, Carra (GJ is inj), Skrtel, Soto, Konch, Maxi, Lucas, Gerrard, Meireles, Cole and Torres.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Football365 is reporting Poulsen has pulled out on "compassionate leave". I guess with all the good news with the owners he decided to give the fans some more.

I hope he plays Meireles is his f#$king position and has Gerrard behind Torres. Meireles is tidy, has a good pass, has good energy so he should be a perfect fit for Lucas. Gerrard is going to be wasted if he is stuck at CM.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Another great first half from a Hodgson Liverpool team, and all to be expected as well.

In other news, Aquilani just scored for Juventus.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Why is our only form of attack crossing the ball into Torres to not win anything? What happened to pass and move around the box and being creative? Why did we get Joe Cole just to cross a ball in. Surely he is supposed to be taking players on and getting shots off and laying people in? Why is everyone bumming Merieles too? I've seen nothing about him that says top quality yet...hope he can show what all you seem to think he has soon....

But he is a mediocre player that never proved anything when he was here, all the polls in the official site were manipulated and he would have never coped with Premier League ´s exigencys.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Here we go with the Aquilani stalker again

He didn't actually prove anything while at Liverpool, by the way. All we ever saw was potential and even then that was when he wasn't injured.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just said on Twitter:

HANG ON! WTF! Hodgson had a HUGE grin on his face when walking to shake hands with the Everton staff!!!!

Hodgson HAS to go, this cannot continue. The man is clueless, has no idea on how to have us play, no motivational skills and no man management nouse. The players need to take a LOT of blame, but we need a manager who can at least play the players in their right position and give them a kick up the arse.

I'm waiting for Hodgson to come out and say that we played well, Goodison is a hard place to go and he's proud of the team.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I cannot believe we paid Benitez to leave....
and paid Fulham to bring Hodgson as manager..

Hodgson says he is one of England's best managers...
yeah right...
and that it would be insulting to suggest him being sacked..

It is insulting having him here....

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hodgson, predictably, says that we played well.

'Difficult game to win. The team played well. We suffered at the hands of an early onslaught. We dominated the second half totally.'

'As good as I have seen us play this season...Excellent game of football.'

'Sterling effort from the players to produce that second half performance.'

'30 games to go, 90 points to play for. I wouldn't rule out top four.'

'I didn't see a lack of confidence. The second half was good as I have seen Liverpool play under my management.'

'The result was very, very bad but I am refusing to accept it was a bad team performance.'

'I refuse to sit here & accept that we were outplayed or in any way inferior.'

'We've lost 5 out of 8. Is it 5? Or is it 4? (prompted by the interviewer) It's 4'

Seriously, he's deluded.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Either he is deluded....or he is not saying anything negative now...knowing that he could get the sack.

The thing is .... I applaud the Board in the financial decisions...
getting NESV and all that....
But in the footballing decisions....they have failed....
Signing Hodgson...who has managed Fulham, Finland, UAE, Copenhagen, Udinese, Viking...
in the last 10 years......sums it up for me...mid-table at best..
One good season at a mid-table team ..and he got the LMA award...
typical British hype....they will pump up any British manager...
And Rafa...had MANY GOOD SEASONS and ONE BAD SEASON....and they were hounding him ...

I can't see anything apart from MAJOR SWEEPING changes that will help us improve
- Replace Hodgson with Dalglish OR a TOP SUCCESSFUL manager if available
- Sign players who are skilful....not square pegs in round holes
- Sell players who are not interested in staying here

Mohammed al-fayed on Hodgson...
"We gave him all the support, we believed in him and he let us down. It's no problem because Mark is much better. He's better looking too.
"Roy disappointed the fans, he disappointed the players, he was just a bugger.
"I did everything for him, to help him. But that's his character. He can't help it. I forgive him, anyhow and I'm sure he's going to take Liverpool downhill."

Re: Liverpool Thread

Great play Coleman.

Oh dear.

BEST man on field today with Yakubu and Jagielka.

If this happened in my club Benfica, there would be a civil war already. Your coach must be sacked ASAP!

dont worry, new owners will get new manager soon imo.

Hodgson, predictably, says that we played well.

Seriously, he's deluded.

reading that convinced me he is crazy.

The problem is that Hodgson not only took us in the pitch backwards but also every single change he made in the squad was negative. We have a worst squad than the one we had before his arrival. When Hodgson is gone, we are going to have to stick with Carragher and Poulsen that are on megawages for the next three years thanks to him. Not to mention Konchesky. Well at least thanks to him and Hodgson highways are back at Anfield, but now at the fullbacks.
