Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I dont know what to think about it,because the chinese goverment is behind this operation.Anyway, anything is better than the two yankees.

Re: Liverpool Thread

If you guys get Poulsen, that should be a very good buy. I rate him highly. He's a very good player in his role and does his job. I was happy when he joined Juve, but unfortunately for him the whole team was crap.

Re: Liverpool Thread

From yanks to commies  next owners The taliban ... Bring back the Beatles :BAND: their from Liverpool

Re: Liverpool Thread

Very impressed with Cole and Jovanovic last night, so refreshing to see two players want to run at players, perform backheels etc and play with such an attacking mentality. Gerrard also played very well.

Fair enough it was against a very poor team but it made some enjoyable watching and I'm hoping Cole and Jovanovic can continue settling in as well as it looks like they have.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah, it reminded me of the end of the 2008 season when we beat Real and the rest. Far less restrictions on the attacking players to have defensive duties. Playing a crap team so you never know how well they are actually playing but it was nice to watch again. Even last season playing the crap teams was a chore to watch in pre-season.

Ngog really needs to become more clinical, it's great that he get's in so many positions to recieve the ball for the chance but if he can't even put them away when "relaxed" how is he gonna be when the pressure is on? I don't see him as a player, with his age, that thrives on the pressure and will score with the only chance of teh game ala Torres so he needs to improve a lot.

As for the ownership, imagine the owners forcing the nation to buy Liverpool shirts or else they get put in a camp on the border with Siberia! Imagine the fanclub! But seriously it's a ridiculous situation when governments are investing in sportsclubs. Same situation with Citeh (and Real) but on a far bigger scale. The game is pushing itself further and further away from the sport and will implode eventually. The sooner the financial regulations come in the better, making teams invest in good facilities (stadiums), marketing and youth development to generate money to sustain success instead of the b#llsh!@ going on now. I guess the positive aspect of the King Kenny 2.0 bid is that they are serious businessmen are should be good at their job and the club won't become a plaything. As long as they actually just buy the club instead of placing it in all kinds of loans and financing packages it will be a step in the right direction, or atleast a smaller step the wrong way.

If Gillet and Hicks passed it, anyone can.

Re: Liverpool Thread

What was the lineup in that 2-0 win in the europa league? how yall shaped up?

....................Cavalieri

Johnson...Carragher...Skrtel...Kelly

...............Lucas
....................Gerrard
Pacheco..........................Jovanovic
.....................Cole

.................N'Gog

Pacheco and Jovanovic switched for most of the game so Jovanovic was on the left.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Crouch and Poulsen deals are done, Figueroa will arrive once Insua is sold.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I believe the Poulsen deal is done, but not the Crouch deal.

Also, i hope the Crouch deal isn't done, i've never liked him.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Me either he worked well w/ Pool vs Arsenal :P by the way I`m expecting good things for pool this season. Time to claim what`s rightfully yours

Re: Liverpool Thread

I`m just looking what Hodges did w/ Fulham and what he had to work with and did great. So, adding his ingredients and the squad that pool has. I mean can he bring the best out of Babel? He could be the Malouda for you lots. It`s scary how a player could step up over night . Hell , imagine berba hitting 25 goals and Torres 30 or Persie playing 28 matches

Where did you read that Crouch deal is done ? I hope that 's not the case since I have never really rated him and we would have to change our whole system just to fit him. Plus, Torres isolated is brilliant.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Journalists that I follow on Twitter. I'm pleased with Crouch coming back, he's a very talented goalscorer.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah he was under appreciated. Also I would think he could compliment Torres well when we play more attacking with 2 strikers. And he's just a very good alternative to have.

Did they say how much Dags?

If he does sign how English is the team becoming?! Johnson, Carra, Kelly, Gerrard, Shelvey (instead of lucas), Cole, Crouch.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I've only seen people speculating that £5m is a good price, £10m is too much. So nothing definate but it's probably going to be around £6m I reckon.

Good to see English players at the club as well.

Read that Hodgson tried to bring Sami back to the club too, Leverkusen wouldn't let him go though :(

Re: Liverpool Thread

from what i've worked out over the past couple of months, the only journo worth following on Twitter is Rory Smith, he's spot on almost all the time and is usually first for Liverpool news.

he hasn't mentioned Crouch.

For me Crouch isn't good enough for Liverpool, and we played some horrible football with him in the side, it just encourages Carragher to smash the ball upfield even more.Plus i don't think it's work having two target men, Hodgson likes to play one out-and-out striker with someone playing just off him who can link with the midfield - like Cole, Aquilani, Gerrard etc. - Crouch hasn't got the pace or the passing ability to play that role imo.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Oliver Kay, Richard Buxton, Neil Jones, Karlsentk, Paul Kelso, Ben Smith, Gabriele Marcotti, Dominic King and Matt Dickinson are also well worth following.

Other people like Jim Boardman and ALiverpoolThing are pretty reliable as well.

Just been tweeted that Poulsen has beene excused from the Danish squad to finish his move to Liverpool.

Edit: Dominic King has reported about the interest in Crouch in the Echo as well (http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...stian-poulsen-edges-closer-100252-27026160/2/).

But as an impact player when all that isn't working, he's one of the best around.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think Crouch would be a good signing, never wanted him to leave. I don't think Roy would resort to long ball football, and people fail to forget how good Crouch is on the deck. I'm SO excited for this season, I don't care if we don't win the league all I want is some good, attractive football.

I loved watching us last week against Dr Robotniks team - there is NO WAY we would have played like that against a shit team under Rafa.

Bring on the Arse.

Oliver Kay and Dominic King are about as reliable as my mate Danny (he's really unreliable).

Kay's a joke these days and King just tends to write what other journos wrote the day before.

Yeh, there's no way we'd have played like that against Besiktas, or Hull or Burnley...or even Real Madrid for that matter.

Sick of the Benitez bashing now, getting a little tiresome.
