Okay. Scratch that. I know where I was going wrong.

It looks like the computer will ignore presets 2,3, and 4 if they are set to standard. However if you set those presets to long ball, all-out defence, all-out attack etc, etc, then the computer will use them accordingly during a game.

Sorry, didn't mean to cause confusion. Also don't want to put pressure on beetle.

He compiled a list for each team as far as what their rating would be for each tactic in pes using info from the awesome whoscored statistical website. He posted it above, but now it is gone.
 
Hi all,
sorry for removing the list, but I had to make some changes to the COMPACTIVINESS stats (plus I had to do all the Champions league teams).
Now my list is complete, I created tactics for all the PL, League 1, Serie A, Liga, Bundesliga and Champions league teams using that statistical gem that is whoscored.com
To create the list I used and mixed several stats, such as short passes per game, long balls per game, completion % etc., comparing them between all the european teams.
For this reason I only did those 5 league + Champions league: no stats are available for Eredivisie and other leagues.
Also, all of the parameters are the results of statistical analysis and not subjective evaluations of teams, so dont start asking "why Barca only has 15 in ..., it should be at least 18".

Awesome work! But can I ask you, what statistics from whoscored.com did you consider for Pressing (Barca has 2, Manchester City 0 :CONFUSE:) and Compactness?
 
thanks for your work beetlebum but im not sure about the pressing...and position switch...barca is maybe the team with the highest pressing in the world and they sit on 0. about position switch i may be wrong but i think real madrid really often switches position during a game and you have them on 1.

Lookin on whoscored Barca is the team with the fewest fouls per game in Europe and with the fewest tackles per game when they dont have the ball.
Thats how i calculaed the pressing statistic.

ok...dont want to critsize you but i think barcas pressig is more about intercepting passes or force the other team to play bad passes...and of course they have the fewest tackles per game because they have the ball most of the time...

but this applys only to a few teams...so not your fault..i dont think you can find a accurate statistic about pressing
 
I think that Barca error shows that statistics often don't tell the whole story, or can be used incorrectly.
Can you explain what stats you used to came to each of the other values?

I think it's much better to derive PES tactic settings from actually watching teams. Or there are some great websites which extensively analyse matches and the tactics used in words, rather than stats.
http://www.zonalmarking.net/ is great but usually focuses on big teams. http://spielverlagerung.de/ is similar but in German and focusing mainly on Bundesliga.
Does anyone know any other sites like these two?
 
Well, this explanation of Pressure would fit FIFA's Agression, but I guess not to the PES matters (off course we can test it).

However, it may not be as a problem, as thought at first. I personally like to keep Pressure and Defense Line on a same or very close values, so if we agree on Defense Line values, that the guy gave us (which I find logical), we can set Pressure also to something similar.

I was thinking also about Position Switch and how did you determine that from the statistics? No ideas, to be honest...

Beetlebum, I think if you could compare number of cards/tackles/fouls (however you calculated Pressure values) dividing it from the time percentage when a team DOES NOT have posession, it would show much more realistic numbers of Pressing.

Great jobs on the tactics. Also people try it out before say the numbers look incorrect. For Barca and Real Madrid making them have too much positional switch conflicts with possession in-game thus leading you not being able to see those high possession %.

Each full league has their own tab at the bottom, while 'Other' is an assortment of other teams. National teams also have their own sheet and if you want a printer friendly version with everything on it, select the 'All' tab at the bottom.

Anyone have any thoughts on what you do with the other preset slots? The AI will switch to others throughout the game, so do I just set all of those as standard across so they're always playing that way? I guess it works in theory as the AI will still adjust the attack/defend setting but still play like the real team.
