Grand Theft Auto VI [Coming Nov 19 2026] News & Discussion

1:
There is nothing wrong with pre-orders and if you don't like pre-ordering or pre-loading that is completely your choice.
When there is games I know I am going to buy then I do pre-order them as you can pre-load, which is a good IMO when some games like BF are about 80GB these days.
How many people would be annoyed if they had to wait till midnight to purchase GTA 6 and then the PS servers become massively overloaded and no one can play the game for hours, when pre-ordering and pre-loading solves this issue.

Also physical media is a dinosaur and shouldn't exist anymore.
The last game I bought physical media it took way too long to install on the console from the disc, I could of downloaded it 10 times quicker.
Physical discs no longer hold enough data for modern games.

The issue isn't with physical media, the problem is with Sony for removing games from their servers and the recent losing licenses for movies so people lost movies they purchase through their store.
This is the problem, actual digital games aren't.

2:
Not really much of a problem IMO, this isn't new and has been part of gaming now for 15 years.
Selling Standard, Deluxe, Extreme editions of games with different content is normal.

3:
Apart from the Sim City back 15 years ago, I can't think of any single player games which require online only.
But then I am always online so this is something I probably never noticed with other games.

+ As for CyberLeeks sounds like the real reason for these leaks is to make money out of their Crypto.
$1.23 billion in fact..

Hi Everyone,
If you would like to vote on our next leak, then please buy our Crypto currency and vote.
We will continue to make the leaks, as we are currently $1.23 billion dollars richer and you mugs are lining our coffers perfectly.
If you continue to push our Crypto the value will only ever go up and our aim is to make sure we reach our goal of $3 billion by the end of next week.
We really are trying to support the community and nothing we do is for greed and financial gain.
Regards,
CyberLeeks.
The actual PROBLEM is that people like you don't see problem in any of that!!

Personally, physical media is an absolute relic.
But then being a PC gamer digital distribution has been the norm since 2004, not 2026..

Again Day DLC for Deluxe editions is again the accepted norm, although I do disagree with this.
But then people are happy to pay for extra skins in a game - So let them.

Name a single player game, you can't play without being online?

I don't mind people trying to start campaigns to try and get answers.
But blatantly doing leaks to make a profit is not one of them.

There are pros and cons and I’m on neither side; just try to inform myself and build an opinion.

Saying that, I just asked AI real quick…

“Single-Player Games Requiring Online Connections
Yes, plenty of purely single-player games strictly require an internet connection or regular online check-ins.

1. "Always-Online" Single-Player Games

  • Hitman 3 / World of Assassination: While playable offline, all progression, item unlocks, gear customization, and level scores are hard-locked behind an active server connection.
  • Diablo IV (Solo Play): The campaign and solo content run entirely on a live server instance; you cannot launch the game offline.
  • Payday 3 / Redfall: Force online matchmaking servers even when playing completely solo with AI companions.
2. Third-Party Launcher & DRM Restrictions

  • Rockstar Titles (GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2): Launching via the Rockstar Games Launcher requires an active internet connection to authenticate your license every few days.
  • EA & Ubisoft Titles: Single-player games bound to EA App or Ubisoft Connect often fail to boot offline if the client hasn't "phoned home" recently.
  • Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM: Games using Denuvo (e.g., Street Fighter 6, Total War) work offline initially, but require periodic online validation checks (or checks after GPU driver updates). If you stay offline too long (like on a long trip with a Steam Deck), the offline token expires and the game won't open.”

If you have a Ubisoft+ sub you must be online at all times, guess it's to stop you sharing your account, many Ubisoft games (such as Assassin's Creed) are 100% singleplayer so there's really no reason you should be forced to be online.

The Crew
They shut down their servers, meaning that no one could play the game anymore. Ubisoft could have allowed their players to continue playing the game even after shutting down their servers, but they didn't. This is what happens when someone rents a licence from the publisher by purchasing and downloading the game online: the publisher can revoke it at any time and switch off the servers whenever they want. Those who bought the game were made fools of. Money gone, game gone. Do you see the problem here, mate?

I may not agree with leaks and stuff, but I absolutely agree with most of their points.
