So are the graphics as good as these screenshots? I'm not entirely sure that they can look THAT good!? can you confirm if they are? :w00t::))

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Damage is coming very soon according to the Yamauchi.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

You might aswell go all out and get the full experience like this with Playseat. :DD

And the thing in action lovely setup abit to much for me but one for hardcore.

:D nah, thats too much - the wheel alone will be enough. I loved playing GP3 (with a CART mod) using the steering wheel. I think it can make the very best racing games like a million times better still with a wheel!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Is the Logitech Driving Force EX wheel good?

Well Car models look the nuts better then any other racing game on market graphically they are on another planet to any other racing game i played. As i say they are replay shots but its not such a huge gap between replay and race in fact i would say its slightly minimal im wowed everytime i take over a car lol even a crappy Suzuki Swift.

Now enviroments are nice but kind of lacking polish around outskirts of tracks i think they look on par with Forza 2 (this game being direct comparison) i think tarmac detail is better on Gran Turismo 5. Only thing is trees and small thing like this are abit poor (low res textures) but the game has to sacrifice somewhere i guess due to the level of detail elswhere plus 16 cars on track depending on the track mind.

I think London track is on par with PGR4 especially last corner its amazing seeing building (wish i new name) has Sanyo sign on but looks so real. But i dont think the track itself is great not as fun as PGR 4 i dont find it that good to play and i seen in Pal version its been taken out alot of events which is good. It would be nice to have the weather effects of PGR 4 but to me have sheer detail and more cars on track plus great gameplay etc all i really want in racer.

I really wont be going back to Forza after playing this even if it is not a full game it just smokes it its like going back in dark ages now.

Ye also can set better times so gain an advantage.

@ Tobi i have no idea about wheels whats good or not only that G25 is the nuts but its costs alot of money £170 i think.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Omg if there's a Forza 3 I'm getting that Playseat!!!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Polyphony Digital boss Kazanori Yamauchi has confirmed that car damage is finally on the way to Gran Turismo.

“We really, really want to put damage onto our vehicles,” he said, speaking in a video interview you can find after the link. “We’ve had a lot of discussions with the manufacturers and although at the beginning they hated the idea of deformation, now they’re slowly coming around to it. We’ve still got a few to convince, but we will. Expect deformation in the very near future: very, very soon.”
Yamauchi was speaking on the eve of the release of GT5: Prologue in Europe, and far ahead of a 2009 release of the full version of GT5. While not saying whether or not damage would be included in GT5 next year, online updates are already confirmed for Prologue, and Yamauchi said that PSN delivery would continue to play a big part in the evolution of GT on PS3.

“Obviously, we wanted to do a next-gen Gran Turismo,” he said. “When the PS3 appeared, we realised that we needed a lot of time to develop properly on this hardware, so we gave ourselves four years to come up with a complete programme. As a result, you’re not going to get Gran Turismo all in one go, but gradually, adding online elements and features as we go. The good thing is that it’ll have a long, long lifespan.”

"very very soon" hmmm maybe it is in but it just needing polish and flick of switch to turn it on.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

There is not an ounce of lag online apparently, thats good news.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

What games have you played online DJ?

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

F1, Resistance, Motorstorm, FIFA 08 and PES2008.. all fucking rubbish and lagged like fuck.... Before you say its my broadband connection ive got a Decent 8MEG connection and a decent router good signal strength etc etc.. On Xbox Live I hardly ever experience lag on COD4, PGR4 or Forza 2. FIFA 08 is a bit hit and miss for lag.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

I hardly played Resistance online so I can't comment on that, I experienced lag in Motorstorm and everyone knows about PES but thats more to do with Konami than the network.

I've played Warhawk, NBA 2K8, Burnout, UT3 and some others online and none of them had lag. CoD4 only had lag when I was on The Bog map.

Maybe your just unlucky.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Just got my ShopTo order and no GT5 (only EvGolf). Ah well, probably a good thing as I ordered the G25 wheel last night and was gonna try to not play GT5 till I had it all set up.

So now I dont have to worry about avoiding it as they will all hopefully arrive tomorrow!

If anyone does get it today, then please let us know how good it is!

Wow how strange did you order it same time as Everybody golf. ?

Would of thought you would of got delivery same time.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Just to let people know will take 10 mins to install the game plus got to get update which will more then likely fail so just keep trying to get it and eventually be done. (shitty system)

Hearing from friend graphics are better games more smoother and handling been improved from Japanese version.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

pre-ordered the gt 5 pack of the ps3 yesterday, shop said on stock, but not sure? it was set to be released today so it can be possible, anybody knows if the online stores are allready shipping this?

Wow, cannot wait! And yea, ordered it at the same time as EG and got the dispatch notice within minutes on the same evening (last night!) too.

Weird and a bit pissed off, but got EG to keep me going, plus I have man-flu so probably not up to it anyway.

Its fate anyway - Amazon have just shipped my new monitor and surround sound - and hopefully I'll get news shortly that the G25 has shipped and then (fingers crossed) I can have everything up and running for over the weekend and join everyone online then!

Dam gutting surprised at that.

Anyway just got update for game after 5th try omg the new Intro for game is awesome.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

There is a great vid on YouTube of a guy driving a Subura around the streets of London using the G25 wheel.

Looks so cool - game is VERY fast, VERY smooth and the response from the wheel looked very accurate.

Hope some non-GT fans get into this.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

It's been said a million times Coopz, read the bloody thread.

It's a "big demo", it's not a full game.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

why is Prologue only £15?

Where have you seen that? Retail is £25, ShopTo £20 and Gameplay £18.

Its not quite the full version, though realistically, you'd probably be happy paying full price for it - loads of cars, tracks and 16 player online. Plus GTV (HD Documentaries and all old Top Gear episodes soon) stream to your 'Home' area in the game.

It looks superb and for £20 a real bargain!

Oh and the full version is not out for another 'year' - which will probably end up being 2!

Re: Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Well i cancelled my order at gameplay and they still sent my order out so now i have 2 copies.

Before i sell it elsewhere i will sell it here to anyone who wants it for £15 anyone interested. ? (I havnt received it yet though probably tommorow)
