Great Britain, Race

I think it is not that much Pirelli's fault as much as FIA's and Bernie's as they wanted to artificially create exciting races

Hands down the best race this season.

amazing some stuff.

Soo many amazing skills from various drivers.

Hamilton was superb. to be on pole leading the race to your tyre exploding and finishing 4th is nothing short but amazing.

Most guys would have lost there motivation and their will. Imagine leading the whole weekend being fast in practise, starting in pole and leading the race to that happening? The average man would have broken down ****ed thinking the gods are against them but not hamilton. He never gave back. Amazing

Webber. What a fantastic drive he had. Similar to Hamilton, bad start, everything going against him and if teh race was 54 laps, he would have won. Well done and he will be missedin F1. such a great person and driver. Has more class then Vettel.

Alonso did well. superb driving from him well done and Roseberg did a fantastic job. kept his cool and made the luck count. It is difficult under pressure with a few laps to go with webber right up your rear. Well done.

Overall an amazing Race. Mercedez can compete with red bull. Well done. Hamilton made the right decision to join them!

Cant wait for the next race and i am tempted to buy tickets for next years Silverstone race.

3D comparison of 2013 and 2014 regulations regarding car aerodynamics.

Changes from 2013 to 2014, according to regulations:
*Lower nose and chassis
*Shallower AOA (Angle Of Attack) of rear wing
*No beam wing (lower wing that is connecting to rear crash structure and supports the wing nowdays)
*Single exhaust pipe, centered above gearbox
*Narrower front wing

I'm not sure, if I like the new design or not. Especially the nose is bringing up questions to me, most important the one if a lower nose isn't more prone to make cars fly through the air when colliding(and that was one of the main points the FIA and other institutions tried to prevent with the design changes over the lase decade).

nose is lowered on safety concerns...They intended to make them that low for current season, but they decided not to go with that big change when next year there are big changes.

The point of lowering noses is to make sure driver doesn't get hit in his head when there is T-bone collision (nose of one car with side of another one) and to prevent situations like Webber had in Valencia when underside of his nose made contact with rear tire of Caterham (than Team Lotus) and launched him into the air.

Current high noses were not made mandatory by FIA, that was just teams finding it most optimal for aero-efficiency

Still I think these noses will catapult some cars into mid-air when hitting them in the right angle.

Well it wasn't a problem for McLarens from 2004 to 2008, Renaults from 2004 to 2008, Jordans from 2002 and 2003...they all had very low noses...and it is not mandatory for them to extend that far forward, only height is mandated.

And, you remember how everyone was saying that there will be no overtakes, that front wings will be lost over and over again when they introduced those large FW's in 2009? Jet, there were more and more overtakes every season from then, teams learned to make wings more and more flexible and now they survive even multiple contacts. Or, if they loose something it is usually just a piece of endplate

I don't think the majority of overtakes was due to the noses, but more to the introduction of KERS and DRS.

You're right though, that those noses became more stable.

sorry if I wasn't clear enough with my post, but I didn't imply that wider noses got us more overtakes. I just wanted to say that they haven't hampered it like everyone feared they would

I always said it, I'll always say it, the Hungaroring is a very boring race track. Quite uninteresting race today, the result is not good, but not bad either, time for the summer pause now.

this is why I'd take Kimi over Vettel any day of the week! damn RBR, go inform your driver's incapability to Charlie!

hats off to Hamilton. perfect race.

@S-Nipe, exactly what I always thought too. with all respect to Hungarians but the track couldn't be any more boring. It bores me to death even in video games. Spa, A1-Ring, Istanbul Park, all are way better.

Spa and Istanbul: Completely agree, both great tracks.
A1-Ring: Nooooo, never liked this one, always hated it, the only nice thing about the track is the fact it has several corners where you can overtake.

well, A1-Ring (nowdays known as Red Bull Ring) is great track for spectators as from one place you can see almost whole track. And it is great for racing, especially from start to T3 (of 8).

Hungaroring is good track for me, but it is just too much "old school" with narrow asphalt and narrow sweeping turns.

And this race wasn't so boring like some previous that had taken place here. Romain made a few great moves, Kimi was great, Lewis drove fantastic race....and in the midfield there were quite good passes and passing attempts too. Oh, and Williams has finally got their 1st point this year

hungaroring is a classic, no massive fuck off run off areas like all the modern shite. they are contracted to race till 2022 i think, i'm glad its staying. its a decent track. the race was aite. there have been worse races this season.
heard alonso got a bollocking from luca di montezemelo haha, could see him in the red bull next season maybe.

well, he got his fingers spanked because in Gazzeta on question "What you want for you birthday tomorrow" he answered "The other's car"

According to some Italian news Kimi Raikkonen has signed for Ferrari starting with 2014 season.

Rumors are that Ferrari will change both drivers with Alonso leaving for Red Bull, while Ferrari cars will be driven by Kimi and Jules Bianchi or Nico Hulkenberg.

HÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜLK! Finally Sauber with a good pace. Very surprised to see Kimi and Lewis getting eliminated that early.
