Football Manager Series

...but primarily, it's snowing inside the stadium, and glorious weather outside of it...
So obvious...
That is the only thing I didn't notice.

There could be a forest outside and the tops of the trees, which you can't actually see are covered in snow.

Sorry if this has been asked before but does anyone know when FM24 will be delisted?

I haven't really played an FM since FM14 but fancy getting back into it and the launch for FM26 doesn't sound like it is going too well

Aw man just saw the Gamepass leaving soon titles and FM24 is there. I just started getting into it and never really gave it a chance the 2 years it was available and Im really enjoing it. I hope I can save my game file and transfer to steam/epic
Should be off gamepass mid Nov. Hopefully I can get a cheap code, I missed the free giveaway from epic store a while back

I just can't take FM26 anymore the game is just too slow and boring.
Everything is just such a boring slow process.

I also can't find any places to do staff responsibilities which is something that I need - If I have to do one more press conference or click send assistant again I think I will throw my mouse out the window.

The game is just so unfinished.

This video kind of shows my frustration with the game by saying it is incredibly slow and boring.

The match is 1x speed with extended highlights.
It goes on for 20 minutes.

A few people have been campaigning to save Miles (Jacobsen) and that it's "better the devil you know", with any potential replacement having no interest in the community and being far more interested in monetisation opportunities.
oh god if there's anything good to come from this game, i'm not sure why people are trying to spoil it by attempting to save Miles

Is this not where "dynamic highlights" or whatever it's called comes in (where it makes the highlights package shorter if it's a standard game)?

You can do key highlights but the game still goes on for 10 minutes.
For me personally it is such a boring watch as the animation is incredibly poor and players constantly control the ball and it bounces 6 yards away from them.

got my refund in for FM26 before the 'beta' ended - i was always planning to do this unless the game blew me away of which i was fully aware was completely unlikely, but there is a lot of work to do to make this game 'good', the changes to the UX/UI and the lack of data and features that were in previous games has destroyed the immersion to be honest. I imagine the steam reviews will bomb but ultimately revenue will increase due to netflix/console and ultimately SI's strategy will be proven right at the expense of it's core gamer base. draws a bit of a parallel to Konami and PES with myclub/eFootball.

Exactly. F**k us. Seems to be a common theme these days. Hopefully my fellow old men can admit it's dead now. RIP Football Manager.

Thanks for the ride. What the hell do I do for my escape from reality now.

I was so busy warning everybody else about FM24 being delisted, I forgot to buy it myself.

So I'm a bit stuck now... I think I'll have to migrate over to FM26 and see what happens. If I hate it, then as @bsmaff said, at least I'll have a lot more free time... Got a lot of books to read...

I think you can still buy a code and it will activate.

First match, second half, the match won't start. Players stood looking at each other with the clock stuck on 45 minutes. Soft lock. Only way to continue was to use the instant result button.

This is truly, and I don't say it lightly, a disgrace.

Tried the console version with Game pass. They still made it less features than the PC version even if it sues the same menu. It feels super bad since a lot of the things you want to do you can't easily do like change roles. And they even made the tiles less flexible, no attack or support roles.

Whenever I wanted to start a match in the first minute it freezes and I have to press pause and start again

Also the bugs from the PC version from a week ago are still in this one, so get ready to land back at past interviews you already answered.

This is just really bad especially for the price they are asking for a game.

Right now I actually would recommend playing We are Football with a recent data patch instead of this.

I would have got into WAF 2024 if it was less confusing - it seems like a lot of fun but there's so much I don't understand and with little explanation as to how it works.

The FIFA Manager modern season mods look great, but the match engine is appalling, so you have to use the text-based engine to maintain your immersion which really spoils it for me.

This is why FM is a disaster.

Sega will be quite happy for it to be a disaster. Welcome to the Pes scenario everybody. Alot of you had a go at me (I don't mind I deserve it most of the time) but this is the way we are going from this point.
I don't think anyone's having a go at you, it's interesting to see different viewpoints and have a healthy discussion.

I still disagree - there's no dumbing down IMO, just a horrendously managed project. In-fact, as @bsmaff pointed out to me earlier, some of the old transfer exploits existed in e.g. FM22, which says to me they started porting code over from then and ended up messing things up so badly they've had to keep a significant chunk of it rather than use e.g. FM24's updates.

(And, if dumbing down seriously was their intention, they're about to find out what a bad idea that was - because it seriously won't work and they'll lose a lot of money as a result. But I seriously don't think they're that stupid.)

However, we can agree that it's a disgraceful release and I'm intrigued as to what happens next. It's an appalling product to release for full price - even worse on console. It's bad enough that I could even see some kind of watchdog getting involved - how you can legally sell something so broken I have no idea (I haven't managed to get through a single match without a soft lock yet).

Look at how it runs on Xbox Series X:

I think FM27 will be a good, maybe great, game. But there's no excuses for what an absolute catastrophe this launch is. It's the worst CM or FM launch quality ever.

I can't comment too much on features as I just recently started dipping my toes in FM. I was not worried much about depth as I never really experienced FM before so I have no comparison, I was actually looking forward to maybe it being a bit more friendly for new players.
I just started a career and I really do like the in game engine, however... the frickin UI.

I started FM24 never before having seen or played more than 10min, but I felt things were easier to find after time. Yes, it was a lot of information but the menus were clear. In FM26, I was hopeful as it seemed "cleaner", but man I cant find anything, there are some fonts that just overlap other fonts so its hard to see what they mean. Not kidding, I had an injury in game, and I had to replace my player, it took me a good 5min to figure out who was injured (in previous game a simple icon would show "INJ" in the roster/tactics. Here after searching and getting frustrated , I found a microscopic red icon on top of my red jersey icon (it didnt even say injured or anything, just looked like a red card that camouflaged itself). Substitutions were easier for me as when you are changing players it didnt show all available players with no icons, in FM24 they showed icon to show who were bench.
Its little things that make it hard to do simple things.

At the end of the day, it feels like even though FM24 vomits much more info on the screen, it is just easier to navigate

As a newbie player I disagree they made it easier for new players. I could get by in fm24, probably not knowing 100% of the features but knowing the 5%.

I really hope they patch these things.

Thought I'd give it one more go before bed.

The lack of information on show is shocking, especially when I'm playing on a 1600x1200 device. Suddenly, half the UI text overlaps each other and can't be read nor clicked.

Anyway, on the squad view, I can't even see my players' positions. So I try to add the positions column...

Look, I don't say this lightly, but, fuck this.
