Football Manager 2008

This is what i said to in the press conference about Jiminez

"Well err, i fink err he will be a big player for us you know err, he has the quality and passion that i err fink will take us to the next level"

OK. I'm getting a little frustrated. People keep buying my better players. At first I would tell everyone no. Then my players started becoming unhappy. So then I would accept the offers hoping the players would stay. But they are leaving even though I am second in the championship at the end of Jan. How do I get them to stay?

If you accept an offer they will almost always go.

The only way to make a player happy, I find (and it flashes across the screen as one of the tips from time to time), is to offer them a more valuable contract. If they sign it they will usually lose their "unhappy" status.

Thats what I do. After a period of time their unhappiness rating will disappear. Especially if its a player that plays regularly.

Exactly. As Atletico manager, I had countless offers for Raul Garcia and Aguero. Rejected them constantly, the players went unhappy for a week or two, then they were fine again.

Don't let them push you around, Becanes! :TU:

What pisses me off most about this game isyou will play a team who are hammering you for ages and no matter what you do they WILL score, then it says "They have changed back to their usual style". Its like they will only play like that untill they score, which you cant stop :(

What formation did you use for Atletico Dags? i tried something new for once, heres what im currently playing

--------- ST --------
---W-----AM------W---
------MC----MC-------
---FB-----------FB---
-------DC---DC-------

Except I had the FB's back further playing a flat-back four.

Same defence, tho Raul Garcia is AWESOME playing where you've got Maxi (who left me very shortly after I started wanting to move to a bigger club).

Sold Reyes as well, had Slory playing left wing, with Simao on the right. Forlan also sold, had Aguero playing there, later to be replaced by Guilherme and Aguero either in the AMC role or on the right wing.

Been playing about on FM, but some things are really pissing me off.

If another team is superior to you, they will continue to score goals. So you get unrealistic scores. I'm Sampdoria and am unbeaten for 10 games, then along comes Inter and Zlatan scores 4 goals in the first 10 minutes. I lost 5-2.

Another thing that annoys me is how so much can happen in a virtual minute - usually in the last few minutes of a game, a team can have about 5 chances within 1 minute.

Lastly, the times at which you get yellow cards are ridiculous. You can get one in 25 game seconds, then another after 4 real minutes. In real life you usually dont get them that early.

Haha, one more - the fact that transfer fees are so high by the AI. You see teams like Inter, United and Roma sign players for ridiculous amounts such as 49m pounds for David Villa. Firstly, Roma has a policy to never spend over 20m. Secondly, how is it realistic for Inter to sign Aguero for 35m, then Ribery for 20m, and David Villa for 40m in the same window?

Just came 3rd in my first season with QPR. Lost 1-0 in playoff finals to Watford :(

Bring on next season!!!

Speaking of QPR, I love how Football Manager gives you a massive knowledge of players worldwide.

Just read QPR have signed Di Carmine from Fiorentina. I had him on loan for Venezia in my FM game, really funny seeing players you associate with FM to see them mentioned in real life news.

A couple of months ago I spotted another striker I had with Venezia, Bjorn Runstrom. He used to play for Fulham apparantly? Anyway, he was QUALITY for my Venezia team, and I turned on a German match on my laptop and seen Runstrom was playing

FM = best scouting tool for managers.

Guys could someone post a screenshot of the stats for a player for AZ Alkmaar B team or U18s he plays for, or Holland U18s, he's called Pepijn Kluin. I'm on holiday in Corralejo andhis family are here too! Got chatting to his dad and played volleyball and other games with his dad. Pepijn isnt here though, he's back home in holland. Cheers :TU:.

Those Dutch get everywhere. Last time I was on holiday, I got chatting to a guy who used to be a ref in the top flight in Dutch football
