Whenever I see the annual sequels from Konami and EA— when they’ve become nothing more than run-of-the-mill annual releases—
I’m so glad that FK doesn’t have any sequel.
No sequel is the best sequel.

Well maybe if we're talking about current gen football games, but there was a point in time when PES and FIFA literally progressed every year and I have no doubt Namco would've been the same with a promising foundation like FK.

Yeah, this game needed that single "what if" sequel with just focusing on polishing those areas where it was a bit raw. But guys do not romanticise it, go play it. Recently im trying football games i have not played at all or maybe played for a bit 30 yrs ago and out of a dozen so far this one is special.

Even if you are big on manual passing, this game had that already.

I know it's probably blasphemy to many, but I'm actually having way more fun playing FK compared to PES 5 or 6. And I think Namco not making a sequel or a complete game out of this "demo" is probably one of the biggest what ifs of football gaming.

It’s very unpredictable with the manual passing. And the level of control is lovely. Even PES 5 and 6 has the on-rails feeling. Still wonderful games in their own right but side by side, FK plays very well.

It’s not all roses though - the AI makes some questionable decisions. Occasionally the ball appears to defy physics. It’s very much a demo/proof of concept, but oh, what proof it is.
