Bit of a dick? Because he didn't bow like the rest? It's their tradition, not his. He can thank them his way. Why is he forced to thank them their way? And that stupid fan going off at Anelka telling him he traveled 700 miles and annoyed Anelka didn't bow? Fgs. The fan should accept Anelka isn't Chinese and has different traditions. That's called diversity.

Diversity is also accepting that there are traditions you must partake in when in other countries, would you if ever you attended as a guest in a mosque refuse to remove your shoes for example? What the fan did isn't right, but Anelka made a choice to move to china he should also embrace their tradition is all I'm saying.

Any club that is stupid enough to not only pay ridiculous wages but appoint someone like Anelka as CAPTAIN! and even make him player/coach briefly :LMAO: is asking for trouble!

And now the very professional Drogba lol is supposed to join him and probably become next captain and bow to unsatisfied fans.

This team is at bottom of the table half way through the season apparently!

about the Anelka incident, even bad advertisment is advertisment... I myself can not imagine bowing down knowing me and the whole team fu..ed up the game..it´s not natural for maybe europeans, even if i think asians have much higher values and as you can see won´t throw nothing on the players and accept a bow....this is other culture, Anelka though is payed a lot so he can at least pretend he cares....

Not necessarily. Respecting their people doesn't mean taking up their traditions. Also you can't really compare a religious place to a pitch :) If Anelka went in a temple then that's a different story. On the pitch, with all that money, he's expected to do his best. That's how they should rate him. Have a go at him for his bad performance, not have a fit because he didn't bow.

A place of worship was a bit far I'll admit, but in context if he refused to shake hand at the start of a game on England he would probably be slated just as much, it's all a respect thing.. And something he should have considered when he moved, to be made captain he is supposedly a leader, so when something like this occurs from the leader then the others could follow suit (unlikely I know) and suddenly a tradition mean nothing because a big star threw his toys out the pram other being asked to join in a simple bow. He also didn't give them anything to cheer about on the pitch judging by match reports so you know, he did kind of owe them a bow for being a bit crap on the day :L

Oh, actually Anelka is a Muslim, and in Islam you're not supposed to bow to anyone except God. That's also a reason I think.
