yep, at conmebol, referees have that spray to mark the distance between the ball and the defenders on free kicks.
They usually mark it between the ball and the "human wall", but the free kick taker asked the lineman to mark the whole zone because Corinthians wanted to hold the ball there (they were winning the semi finals and the game just had 30 seconds left).
