It's just insane, that some of our media write about shame and disrespect.
In comments you can read about racism and nazis. What's wrong with people?

Just for explanation: this "dance" is for celebrating the victory showing how the defeated team and supporters are feeling (heads down, sad face etc.) and going and how the winners feel (heads up, lucky, celebrating).
It is just mocking the opponent who lost.

Here some examples of supporters of Bundesliga teams with the same song:

So it is basically no racism or disrespect.

I don't get it why people try to see something in it what is not in.
Is it just, because the german team won?
 
The Gaucho song is disrespectful. Whether it's perfectly normal to disrespect opponents in the aftermath of matches in Germany is an entirely different discussion. It's not unheard of in most parts of the world though but it is what it is, let's just call a spade a spade. The Germans are just as bad winners as most others it seems.

What is disrespectful in singing: "the losers feel bad - the winners feel great?"
Nothing and really nothing more does this song / dance say with words and body language.
And that's how the situation was / is...

And by the way I have not seen any similar discussion after the "Brasil, decime qué se siente" sung by argentina team in their cabine after beating Belgium - for me it is nearly the same thing.
 
The song is in bad taste. Especially when sung by players. In Germany maybe is viewed as banter among team fans, but on internacional level is a bit wrong. Nothing to do with racism or anything, but disrespectful, IMO.
 
This song already appeared at european championship in 2008 - interesting that no one ever mentioned something before.

And talking about the Euro 2008 - right after the final match spanish players danced a polonaise right between german players and journalists interrupting the interviews that were taking place. No one ever complained and everyone took it with some sense of humor - even though we lost the final.

And as I wrote above, this so called "gaucho-dance" is not meant to be disrespectful at all - even the DFB gave official statements that if some one feels offended it is a missunderstanding.

I think the german team showed a lot of respect in brazil, not only for the defeated opponents like Brazil after defeating them (we know how it feels to lose in semi finals at home) and the argentina players after the final, but also for the people in the country eg. the Pataxo indians or the poeple in Campo Bahia. They visited a small villages, schools and several aid-projects around their basecamp.
Finally the gifted over 550.000 € for such projects, gifted mountain bikes for a school about 25.000 €, supported the Pataxo indians with money to be able to purchase a vehicle to transport injured people etc...

Of course, such things are not good for producing interesting headlines for the media, but a missunderstood song / dance - in combination with punch words like Disrespect or Racism does it.
 
I didn't see why that was offensive. I was expecting something terrible after all the reaction by Argentina fans and media.

You should see the songs the Argentine fans sing and the words they use against Brazilians.
If they really got offended by that silly dance they're real hypocrites. Especially Diario Olé, who always spice up their headlines with something that belittles opponents.

By mentioning racism they're really pushing it IMO. Why is everyone getting so sensitive and easily offended nowadays? What's wrong with the world!

I bet if you would search for a video of said celebrations on YouTube you'd find just as much vitriol against it in the comments. It's YouTube after all.
Germans can be just as butthurt as any other folks.
I agree that there is nothing inherently wrong with this chant. It's neither insulting nor has it been made up on the spot. It's a well known and popular chant in German stadia, sung especially often after wins of the national team. The (drunk - both on alcohol and the atmosphere) players knew it would catch on and this little "being sent onto stage in little teams"-situation spawned a bit of a competition, they all wanted to outdo the other groups a little bit.

One thing is when the fans sing something, they can sing whatever they want. When the players sing, it's a bit classless in my opinion.

About the song sung by Argentinian fans, I don't speak much Spanish so I don't really know what it's about, but as long as the players didn't sing it, it's OK with me.

Try to google that Spanish words - you will easily find the text and the translation. And this was also sung by the NT. This text could be judged as disrespectful.

This "Gauchos dance" song was created by the fans years ago and apated by the team. And there is nothing disrespectful in the text or the dance.

And regarding terms of Sportsmanship - the team behaved correct and did nothing of those quoted actions after winning the final.

This specific dance was nearly two days later at a celebration with the fans back in Germany - there were no argentina players and it was done by 6 players not the whole team.

From my point of view it is not classless, because there is no bad meaning, intention calling names or disrespect in it.
The text says: the Gauchos walk like this (2x), the german walk like this (2x).

And this has nothing to do with the walk of a monkey or something stupid like that. It should just show that loser is sad and the winner is happy.
And this about celebrating being the winner and not about loughing at the losers and especially not about thinking to be superior to any nation.

If this is seen as disrespect, than any celebration after winning a match is disrespectful, because the losing team feels bad.
 
Why the need to say that loser fells bad and point out to the Argentines ("Gauchos"). Just celebrate, be happy, say you're the best in the world, etc. No need to "portrait" how the Argentines are feeling.

German people still have an awfull reputation sadly...is it still WWII ? I don't know. But i must say that every German i have personally known is the exact opposite of the negative stereotype.

I haven't known a single German who wasn't friendly, respectfull and charming...

People have criticsed (rightly) so the 1.000.000.000 th Mardonna/Messi discussion that i started. But this is even more useless...

There are plenty of professional football players who acts like daft cunts, but i can't say that the players of the German national team are among them.

I wonder what would happen if the average evo-webmember would win the WC...i'm pretty sure that i would embarass myself the first days after triumph...maybe not now, but when i had the age of these players, i certainly would have...

This it is. I don't know, why most people can separate the past from the present, even the generation of my grandparents were to young to actively remember WWII. There is no reason to point it out every time what happened in our past to the current inhabitants of Germany, as nearly all still living today could have taken any influence at all.

The whole discussion is absolutely pointless to me. Not because, it were our players that sung, but because its a generic song. It has nothing to do with the Argentinian players, it was just that they were our opponent in the final and therefore took the place in the song. This is why I don't think its disrespectful at all, getting the feeling, that our media already don't know, how to fill the summer void in the news.

I don't dislike Germany at all. Outside the late political trend coming from Merkel and the majority of German politicians I don't have any problem at all with Germany. Been there - just a day, for connection flight, and liked the food and the people -. I don't dislike the NT either, but for me they were too cocky before the WC (and before previous tournaments as well) when they felt the better, when they had no reason to be. That's the only thing I personally dislike and that's I didn't liked them to have success. But since they had, no problem at all. They were the better team.

This song is completely different. Maybe is a innocent song, a little banter in Germany. But you have to agree that the song cannot be view has a grateful winner. Even after the great sportsmanship that the player had during the tournament and after the final.
 
German People awful reputation? hmmm I don't think so, everything com from German people its amazing and reputation its great, look any product you want in any country you want , been in USA and everytime you see a comercial from AUDI or Volkswagen or any german car they always have to tell that car is german and thats what makes it great ;)

Volkswagen is German :)) I drive 2013 Tiguan, wife 2013 Passat , son 2013 Jetta . I love Volkswagen :COOL: (gave me ray ban sun shades) anyhow my 2 cents on Germans are simple I grew up w/ a few in Dom. Rep. learn futbol in a basebol nation. They are todays' largest tourist in the country for years. They taught me that it was a German Martin whose Martin Luther Kings father name after (enough said) He fought the church so regular ppl could read the bible w/o a priest .

Look at their squad diversity city :BOP: yh they had a dark few years. Argentina has a dark past too! They don`t have diversity :TTTH: I love`em to bit and I`m a spanish speaker and they don`t hide ! the fact lots of them dislike diversity . Its just opinions . Do I feel the Germans players are disrespectful? somewhat. Then, again I sort of laugh about it :COAT: My wife laughed, my kids thought their movement was too robotic .

Let's celebrate in silence when our team scores in future shall we? They were having a bit of fun FFS. Get over yourselves and give it a bloody rest! Such a pathetic conversation this has turned into. They won. They celebrated in their home country with their own fans and were having a laugh. The PC brigade come along and make an issue over nothing. Laughable.
