FIFA (All Versions) Career Mode Stories

In November 2024, just before the winter transfer window of the 2024-2025 season, I started a new challenge with Tottenham Hotspur in my FIFA 16 career mode. At the time, Spurs were 11th in the Premier League and mid-table in the Europa League under its new format. Right at the start of the transfer window, I brought in some reinforcements: Marc Guéhi as a defensive powerhouse, as I saw him as a promising center-back for the future. I also strengthened the midfield with Orkun Kökçü from SL Benfica and added attacking firepower with Ricardo Pepi, the American international, from PSV.

Unfortunately, my takeover at Tottenham Hotspur didn’t turn into a success story after the transfer window. We finished seventh in the Premier League, securing a spot in the UEFA Conference League. The last hope for a UEFA Champions League ticket depended on a strong Europa League run. Although we made it to the final, we fell short against Athletic Bilbao.

The 2025-2026 season started poorly. We lost our opening matches against Chelsea and Manchester City. Despite the addition of players like Leon Goretzka and Bakayoko, the team struggled to find its rhythm. Seven matches before the end of 2025, we were in sixth place, nine points behind fourth-placed Arsenal and 17 points behind league leaders Manchester City. However, that marked a turning point for Tottenham Hotspur. The team went on to win an incredible 18 of the last 20 league matches, putting us back in contention for the Premier League title.

This turnaround was largely due to smart transfers such as Loïs Openda, Kieran Trippier, Matty Cash, and Eric Dier, which brought much-needed balance to the squad.

In the Conference League, Spurs remain unbeaten and have reached the semifinals. Additionally, the team has earned a spot at Wembley for the FA Cup final against Manchester City. City, like Spurs, is still in the running for the Premier League title and is also competing in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League.

By the way, I change my team’s kits every season, which is why Tottenham is wearing these customized outfits in the screenshots below.

Well at least we won 2 of the 3 possible trophies :), ended third in the Premier League 4 points behind title winner Liverpool. At least Champions League football is back next year.

It’s mid-December now, and we’re out of the League Cup after a frustrating loss to Brighton. Once again, we’re still in the title race, but there’s a tough road ahead with several challenging matches left this season: away games against Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

We’re also still in the Champions League. There’s one final league-stage match remaining an away game against Bayern Munich. We need a win to secure direct qualification for the Round of 16.

The team is gradually evolving into a top-tier Premier League side. This summer, we invested the transfer budget wisely, bringing in a world-class defender in Tomori and signing Gÿokeres as a backup striker for Openda.

By the way, we kept last year’s third kit — couldn’t part with a trophy-winning design that looks so good, haha!

Loving the write up @JochemLFC especially as a Tottenham fan :D

Looks really good, kits look really good too, and i noticed you have the new Champions League format too. Would be good to see how Veliz does for you.

I hope in real life they give the manager time rather than panic and ‘rinse and repeat’
