FIFA 23 Discussion Thread (PC Version)

Hi guys,is there a mod which only increases ball sounds in game? ⚽

There's the ambiance sound, but this increases both crowd and ball sounds..

Technically it's possible to unpack original sounds of ball, increase level of sound via software and pack back into files.

I've been playing FIFA 23 PC recently, with a slightly modified version of OS sliders (slow game speed, decreasing pace to 40, pass speed to 35, increasing marking to 51, increasing first touch error to 95, and everything else as the OS sliders) and have enjoyed the game. :) The 1v1 defending issue is still present, but I do think the sliders do a good job at creating an enjoyable gameplay. Also switched from Legacy to Tactical defending for this version and I think I might be getting the hang of it.

Saw this comment and thought I message you, what mods are you using with FIFA 23 and do you still think it's better than 24 and 25?

Right now I am using @Anth James' gameplay mod v 6.0
and I'm also playing with a mod called the European Expansion Mod (EEP), both highly recommended :)

Well, I definitely like FIFA 23 better than FC24.
FIFA 23 vs FC25, it's harder to say. In terms of gameplay, I think FIFA 23 and FC25 are both better than 24.

no mate, fifa 23 is not better than fc24 or 25. 4 years later im sure about that you'll say "im playing fc25 because it's better than fc29". because everybody who plays older fifa games in this forum is weirdly nostalgia lover and hates the present games for no reason

What an incredibly useless comment.

Of all people to say this to, why @millossobek one of the most helpful people in this community and a guy that loves all games, new and retro 🙄

If you notice, I said I prefer both FIFA 23 and FC25 to 24, so I'm not seeing any "nostalgia glasses" here. It's just my opinion.

Plus, what I said is "I prefer FIFA 23 and FC25 to FC24" not "they're objectively better".

Football game preferences are subjective in anycase.

Cheers.

I thought it's more engine problem, frostbite. Which really hard to mod ? No ? I dont follow fifa/fc modding scene that much but please correct me, didnt in fifa/fc you can only replace and not add things like in pes 21 ?

It´s modable, but not as free as PES 2021 or FIFA 16. Since FIFA 16 no modder was able to access the Stadium assets and Textures area even with Frosty Editor. When you open Frosty and go to the Stadium section there is just a black hole and nothing to enter. Kinda :D
The latest Frosty Editor versions are given you deep access to FIFA/FC Files where even in FIFA 16 are not available, like the direct option to access the Gameplay section which is in FIFA 16 and older FIFA not possible because of encryption.
Maybe someday you are in the mood to test an newer FC Game @Hayes . It is fascinating where the Frosty Editor gives you access to. Of course it´s always a matter of taste to try an EA football game.

The engine is not that bad imo. But like I mentioned you can mod the hell out of Frosty Editor, but it needs much more time compared to PES 2021 modding.

I've re-taken FIFA 23 lately (PC), and decided to start a Career Mode with one of my perennial Championship teams, Sheffield Wednesday! 🦉 :BSCARF:Finally decided to go with the Vanilla gameplay, with sliders which are heavily based on the latest version of the Operation Sports ones (with some personal tweaks), and I've had some enjoyable matches! I've found that sliders really do make a difference in this edition, and I'm having more realistic, much less end to end, and overall a better experience in Career Mode! Of course, the 1v1 thing and other issues persist, but overall, I think I've reached a good point for my enjoyment!

@Silverdome94 sure thing bro! :TU:These are the sliders settings I'm using (basically OS sliders with some personal tweaks):
Slow speed, World Class, Semi everything

(USER/CPU. If only one number, then it's the same for both)
Sprint Speed: 40/51
Acceleration: 51/58
Shot Error: 70/75
Pass Error: 58
Shot Speed: 53
Pass Speed: 40
Injury Frequency: 50
Injury Severity: 34
GK Ability: 50
Marking: 55-65 (currently experimenting in this range)
Run Frequency: 10
Line Height: 65
Line Length: 34
Line Width: 49
FB Positioning: 50
First Touch Control: 80

After seeing this thread, I decided to give FIFA 23 another try, and I realized it’s actually really fun again after FIFA 21 (in fact, it’s the one I’ve ended up spending the most hours on). I don’t consider myself one of the core players here—I’m more of a casual user (manual controls are impossible for me, lol). That said, I’ve still put in a decent amount of playtime since FIFA 20, lol.:))

This time, when I went back to play, I basically used a combination of EEP and eSIM (for the first time ever, I didn’t use FIFER!). For gameplay, I tried the InnFormation PFIFA23 Standard Gameplay Mod for the first time (back then, Paulv2k4 was my favorite!).

By the way, personally, out of everything since FIFA 20, I think the best overall experience has been FC25 with Anth’s gameplay (amazing!) built on top of FIFER—it’s the best I’ve ever played, though it does require a subscription. I see FC25 as the version where I want to feel more realism, while FIFA 23—even though it’s a bit less realistic—feels incredibly fun and dynamic when I just want that sense of enjoyment.

For reference, here are my settings:
World Class, Assisted, Normal game speed, match length anywhere from 3 to 8 minutes depending on opponent/division,
shot and pass speed adjusted to my liking (I make them slower),
and most importantly, Speed Hack 0.975.
If you’re like me and want to prioritize “fun feel” over realism, I think you might enjoy it too.

Honestly, I never thought I’d end up playing FIFA 23 again. Of course, I’ll be buying FC26!
I’m not a native speaker, so I hope my English doesn’t come across as strange:LMAO:

That's actually a good idea.. Just tested it at Speed Hack 0.97-0.98 with the sliders I posted above, and it does make a subtle but noticeable difference.
I do like it because I'm not lowering the speeds of the OS Slider balance, but just tampering with the speed hack..
Thanks for the tip! :TU:

Are there mods for PC to update it to the current season?

This might be helpful, @avengedsevenfold84! Not a mod, but an updated Squad file! :)

Actually, after seeing your post, I felt like trying to play it again. I stopped with 25, and now I’m playing the 23 career mode every day:EASY:

Did anyone managed to fix the issue where you can just dribble past an entire defense with a slower player issue? It feels like the CPU defenders don't really know how to tackle properly in certain conditions.

Having the same issue and feeling. Even with gameplay mods it´s not fully fixed and some mods didn´t affect this behaviour at all. Would be cool to have this also fixed because I like to play FIFA 23 still much over the FC Games.

@Topaz @Byronic

Hey guys, I just tried an exhibition with the sliders posted above, vanilla game, World Class, and I didn't quite encounter the CPU non-tackling problem..
Sometimes when I'm walking with the ball the CPU waits for a while, but eventually they do attempt to tackle..(either with the primary or a secondary defender)..
Perhaps further increasing the marking slider could help too..
