Offline browser editor for FIFA 16 attribdb and attribdbgameplay.
No installation or online uploads — editing happens locally on your PC.

DOWNLOAD

Features
  • Presets for AttribDB and AttribDB Gameplay.
  • The navigator searches files and fields, filters modified or evidence-status rows, shows modification counts, remembers folder expansion and sidebar width, and supports keyboard tree navigation.
  • The dedicated Changes workspace shows original-to-current summaries, exact field navigation, and complete-field revert.
  • Standardized scalar, Boolean, vector, matrix, array, curve, and read-only controls provide original context, validation, deviation badges, and exact revert behavior.
  • Edit numbers, switches, arrays, vectors, matrices and float curves with rejection of malformed, blank, non-finite, and unsafe values plus communicated integer clamping.
  • Float32 editing preserves signed zero, infinity, and NaN payload bits.
  • A float32 field with value positive zero now shows 0 in the numeric input instead of a blank field, while signed-zero formatting is preserved.
  • The editor is rebuilt on a modular, dependency-free architecture with no build step, and numeric values are strictly validated before any byte is written.
  • Research Mode opens in the integrated editor side pane with fact and edit views, local evidence records, and JSON or Sheet-compatible CSV exchange.
  • JSON imports are transactional, and folder JSON ZIP export is generated locally for offline use.
  • Optional dependency-free Hover tooltips cover static and dynamically rebuilt controls. They are Off by default; enable them under Project & tools → Preferences. Hover shows after 1000 ms and keyboard focus after 200 ms.
  • Validation blocks wrong, damaged or mismatched BIN/VLT pairs.
  • Export Mod Files exports the preset-derived pair without overwriting imported files.
  • Optional Gameplay Editor files are included for Cheat Engine: enable the generated table after FIFA 16 is running to index mapped runtime Float fields for the current FIFA session.

Original files

Original FIFA 16 BIN/VLT files are required and are not included.
The editor verifies them locally before editing.

Chrome/Edge: You can remember a folder with this structure:
Code:
root/
├── attribdb/
│ ├── attribdb.bin
│ └── attribdb.vlt
└── attribdbgameplay/
    ├── attribdb.bin
    └── attribdb.vlt
Firefox/other browsers: Select the matching original BIN/VLT pair when choosing a preset.

Quick start
  1. Download and extract the ZIP; keep all included files together.
  2. Open attribdb_editor_final_v2.html.
  3. Choose a preset and provide its matching original pair.
  4. Optional: use Load Existing Mod after the original is verified.
  5. Edit values, then use Export Mod Files.
  6. Back up your game files before installing the exported pair.
  7. Optional: for runtime Float research/editing, open Gameplay Editor/fifa16-gameplay-editor.ct in Cheat Engine and use Restore selected or Restore All before closing.

Current behavior: JSON imports validate before changing working data. A current-file import is all-or-nothing, folder imports are atomic per JSON file, and folder JSON ZIP export is generated locally without an internet connection. The optional Gameplay Editor is separate from the browser editor: it has no fixed addresses, indexes only the current FIFA process/session, exposes only mapped runtime Float fields, and must be re-enabled or reindexed after FIFA restarts.

License: PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 — noncommercial use, modification and redistribution are allowed; selling or monetising the tool or derivatives is not.

Credits: Based on the original editor by vivianroberto. v2 improvements by CaptainKidd and AI Agents.

Support: Report bugs on GitHub or reply in this thread.

FIFA 16 AttribDB Editor v2.0.0-beta.1 — Pre-release
Released: 2026-07-31

Changes
Initial preview release of the automated public distribution.
  • Automatic AttribDB and AttribDB Gameplay presets
  • Bundled offline schemas with verification of user-supplied originals
  • Optional remembered originals folder with manual-selection fallback
  • Compatibility validation for imported BIN/VLT pairs
  • Editing, comparison, revert, and Save All workflows
  • Deterministic release package with a SHA-256 checksum
Users must provide the matching original attribdb.bin and attribdb.vlt
files. FIFA database contents are not included in the download.

Known limitations
  • Modified JSON export is not reliable in this preview. The main BIN/VLT editing
and Save All workflow is separate from that feature.

FIFA 16 AttribDB Editor v2.1.0 — Update
Changes
  • Added compact, evidence-status field descriptions and the Research Mode editor for recording tested notes.
  • Added local JSON/Sheet CSV research exchange.
  • Added signed original-value change badges; the Research panel can now be dragged and resized.
Known limitation: Modified JSON export is still unreliable; BIN/VLT editing and Save All are unaffected.

Yo, bro, are you back? AMAZING! I am in touch with vivianroberto in case you guys want to partner up. We could set a discord group together to share theories.

Hello it's been awhile Hels! I'm just intrigued by FIFA 16 and would give it a try in modding the gameplay, but first we need a decent enough editor for that.

Well... Do you remember that I wanted to get a 90 min gameplay with logical playing by the COM, and a realistic match tempo? Let's say I am close to getting it but I need a bit more of difference in precision between difficult and easy passes/shots (though I kinda already managed this) and a better selection of shootings and when to run defenisvely and when to stay back in a more relaxed way and doing stamina management. So like the game is too one-sided in terms of flow and need more variety depending on context, but in general terms, I managed to slow down tempo until realistic levels, with a combination of attribdb, cl.ini, rna.ini, product.ini, etc. and the use of Cheat Engine with anth's ball physics.

Yea I still remember that, good to hear you found what you're looking for!
As for the gameplay files I am trying to not touch the .ini files and will try only changing the gameplay via attribdb & attribdbgameplay only.

Awesome tool mate. Do you know if real time editing is possible? Because right now, after modification, you will need to regenerate the files right to see the changes?

I will try my hands on real time editing, probably via cheat engine table, seen it here on Evo-Web years ago actually, will have to learn from tools like LiveEditor to copy how it works. I'm still positive it can be done as some of the lines in .ini file can be edited while the game is running.

Once you regenerate the modified files, you don't need to regenerate them again, unless you remove them entirely!

By the way, I've done a minimal modification months ago on the GP files:

- attribdb:
* Player LOD Maxed Out (lod_gameplay)
* Better Camera Tracking system based on my FIFA 17 mod (gameplay_camera_settings, broadcast_pos)
* Ported a few runtimes from FIFA 17 Default (cam_tracking_settings, real_tracking_default)
* Experimental Night Light modifications for clean/normal weather presets - night_1, night_2, night_3 (post_fx_values, post_fx_controls, lightmap_light1, pbr_lightrig, tonemapping, flatshadow, pitchcommon)

- attribdb gameplay:
* Passing (kick_pass - Some values are from FIFA 17 + Reduced Driven Pass speed)
* CPUAI Freekick (more jumping probability and wall charge while facing freekicks)
* CPUAI Marker (reduced reaction times a bit for min/max worst/best defender runtimes - for legendary difficulty)

- Camera Tweaks (bcdata/camera):
* A bit zoomed out view from the default broadcast camera

These changes are very useful and helped achieving:
1. Better Level of Details in the gameplay
2. Smooth Gameplay Camera Tracking System
3. Better Night lighting in clean/normal weather condition.
4. Better gameplay in general (you would definitely like the passing system!).

Some of my biggest bug bears have been solved, thanks to Vivian's effort!

Reduced Driven Pass speed makes so much sense!

Sure! I got it from vivianroberto thread on soccergaming, it's in the original attribdb-editor-pro zip file.

Inside below .zip are the gameplayattribdb.big (found it on this forum shared by @DevPlays) and VivTool to merge changes of attribdb gameplay.

fifa 16 attribdb modding files needed.zip
Mind you, all the files I shared related to attribdb and attribdbgameplay are from FIFA 16 v1.00 (Release Version), not the latest version, as it is way better compared to the latest one. So, even if you just use the default ones that I shared, you would find much better experience, almost close to the release version (of course you won't get the full experience without the exe file).

Update
  1. AttribDB Editor has been updated to v2.2.3 public release since a week ago but Im too lazy to upload the changelogs here so check it out on GitHub
  2. More changes related to tool stability, refactor, and overall improvements (not necessarily new features) have been added but not yet published (still on my private repo)
  3. Successfully changed Soccerball_Radius via Cheat Engine (meaning we can have similar tool like Aranaktu's Live Editor for FIFA 16 gameplay).

Yup, I know how it works, but for some reason your mod needs the original files, and none others. I've even might have'em somewhere but I don't know where I put them. My pc's a mess.

Yea I made verification step for the files to make sure workflow are not prone to human mistake. You need to provide the original files before using the app because it will use it as a base for default values aswell.

I tried incorporating it in the tool but would be risky because the tool then can get taken down by EA by providing real in game binaries.

Yeah, better this way. One thing. When you equal a field to 0, it becomes blank. Could you change that so that it actually puts a 0 in the field?

Did anyone managed to fix the issue in FIFA 16 where all the teams plays the same way? Like obsessed with tiki taka?

I believe it can be changed, there's a lot of lines that affect this but the ones I notice to be more impactful and doesnt ruin other parts of the game are modifying CPU awareness and overall gameplay error (passing, shooting, pressure, etc). That way the CPU is forced to emulate how a player would play and be more mindful and careful when making decisions.

Although in Career Mode its affected by more factors like tournament priority, derby, etc. This makes it more likely to trigger the tiki-taka last minute script we all are dreadful for.

As @citizenkidd mentioned above, it should be possible. Looking at the runtimes, such as kick_delay, ball_handler and marking (all of which are CPU AI runtimes), as well as passing, there are a few suspects. However, it should be altered in combination with other aspects, otherwise these would be affected by the changes. The surprising thing is that when I compared the FIFA 17 (latest version) and FIFA 16 (v1.00, Release Version) gameplay files, I found differences inside these runtimes:

Movement (in gp_actor), marker (in CPUAI), most of the emotion engine stuff (a few new ones were added there too), passing (in kick_pass - many new things were added and many existing values were tweaked), and so on. When I inspected a few of these, I identified that they had tried to nerf a few movement and marking values (reaction times, etc.). They've also completely nerfed the soccerfield physics, which affects ball bounces when using ground passes, as someone pointed out when testing my FIFA 16 Attribdb converted to FIFA 17 mods (if you haven't tested them, I'd suggest you to test and see you like the changes or not - I would suggest you to test the Lite version first). Since the passing runtime was reworked in 17, I suspect this was the main change to reduce tiki-taka and increase variety in passing, especially when playing as a bad player against a good player.

It would be great if there were a tool that could compare different games across their different versions, so we could directly see the differences between each game title and each version. For example, it would be fantastic to make FIFA 16 play with the inertia and momentum feel of FIFA 14 NG.

This is already done by vivianroberto and that's exactly how I identified the difference between 16 v1.00 vs 16 v1.07, 16 v1.00 vs 17 latest and 16 v1.00 vs 14 NG..

I know previous versions had a comparison feature, but I thought a single schema couldn't load different games for comparison. Can it be done?
Perhaps you could compare the differences between the PC version and the PS4 version of FIFA 16 – you might find something new.

There is a cross-schema compare option in the tools (?) section. That's how it is done.

FIFA 16 AttribDB Editor v2.5.0 — Update

Changes
  • Added the optional generated Gameplay Editor for Cheat Engine. It discovers and indexes mapped FIFA 16 runtime Float fields for the current FIFA process/session instead of relying on fixed addresses.
  • The Gameplay Editor keeps ambiguous or undiscovered fields blocked, uses guarded cached reads/writes for mapped Float fields, and provides Restore selected, Restore All, and Reindex Runtime.
  • The downloadable package now includes the generated table, matching Lua backend, and a Gameplay Editor guide. Cheat Engine remains an external prerequisite and FIFA database files are not included.
Known limitations
  • Gameplay Editor coverage is process/session-specific. A mapped runtime value is not proof of a visible gameplay effect, and some changes may require a match restart.
  • Original FIFA 16 BIN/VLT files and Cheat Engine are required for their respective workflows and are not included in the download.
